Additionally, I have difficulty laying prone for any length of time, the staff and the endodontist seemed puzzled by this, and frankly exhibited a little impatience with my need to keep my back elevated to relieve pressure on my hips, which are severely arthritic. I understand that they need access to my mouth, but I can't be in excruciating pain during the procedure, either. The endodontist went right in with the shot, no gum swab to numb up the area first, and said they don't do that for this procedure. Every other root canal in my life was preceeded by the gum swab, so I was puzzled by this. When he got in there, he was pretty rough, pressure on my front teeth for leverage and a fair amount of pinching the cheek. I will say he was damn quick about it, and shortly after he was done, the regular dentist put my crown on. All in all, I was fairly discombobulated by the whole experience, and I don't think I'll be coming back.

I was especially happy with how attentive they were with regards to my physical comfort. I'm a complete wimp when it comes to mouth pain, and they did everything possible not to hurt me. I'm a real hard-case - resistant to nitrous (though it helps), resistant to lidocaine, and a total crybaby on top of that. The nice lady who worked on me was extremely gentle and careful, and really listened. Everyone's very warm, friendly and professional, and they even worked with me on payment, because I don't have insurance (they also recommended some dental plans that might work for me). Another thing I noticed is that there were several regular patients who also seemed happy to be there. I thought it a good sign that some people have been going there for years, and have an ongoing and friendly relationship with the people who work there. I also like that they have evening appointments. I really can't recommend Dr. Gibbs and company enough. This was the best experience I've ever had at the dentist.

My son was referred by his orthodontist to AVOS to schedule an oral surgery appointment. Upon…read moreentering the building, we were warmly greeted by their front office staff who made our check-in seamless. As we waited, we sat comfortably in the reception area, which had a variety of refreshments and plenty of seating to pick and choose from. Shortly after, one of the surgical assistants (Pablo?) brought us into the consultation room and asked us questions on what brought us to their office. Then the assistant brought in Dr. Dustin Haupt to begin the consultation. Dr. Haupt was thorough with explaining the surgery as well as gave us ample time to go over any questions we may have for him. The patient coordinator made it easy to schedule our appointment as well as take payment too. Overall, we are confident in proceeding with my son's recommended treatment at AVOS.

My first visit was in August 2025 with Dr Bottoms…read more I had a crown that failed and they ground it down,made the crown that day, but that is when I do not know what happened. The girl (Dr Bottoms daughter) that worked on me finished up and then something went wrong. She attempted to take the"temporary" crown off and pulled, pried, and used a block of something they put in boiling water, then stuck it on your teeth! Well, she pulled and poked and tried to get it loose and it would not budge She finally gave up and said, "we will let nature take its course!" I was having total shoulder surgery and the dr really impressed on me the dentistry could cause an infection to the arm. I worried about this from that first day until this past week! Constantly on my mind all those months! When, after months, I went in to put the real crown on, they questioned if I didn't like the color. I said,"This is a temporary", so they took an XRay. Imagine my shock and upset when he told me it was a permanent replaced tooth! I worried and was afraid for 7 months because this was to be replaced when I was healed enough from shoulder surgery to do so. Dr Bottoms called after I left a message, nothing apologetic about any of the mistakes. $2000.+ for a huge aggravation!
