This Platos Closet is managed very well. Tonight my wife and I came especially to find a pair of Lululemon tights. They get in a variety of used items everyday so its a hit or miss. Unfortunately, today was a miss but the wife loves to browse here. They also offer a 70% off clothing rack at the front of the store. Easy use dressing rooms to try on before you purchase. We keep our lightly used clothing in bags and then every so often my kid and I bring the clothing into Platos to sell. Usually we get an average of $4.00 for each item and were elated to get around $75.00 for the whole load. The give us back what they dont want to buy and we drop that off at Goodwill as a donation. read more

I took a bunch of high end brand clothes here and they took a $215 love shack fancy dress along with a few other items and I only received $46 , I should've never even accepted that. I didn't realize until I got home , the only reason I even took them here was because it was taking too long to sell on Depop. SELL IT ONLINE DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE. I Hate This Plato's Closet I've Tried Selling Here Multiple Times but It was something about when I came in Sunday (4/12/2026) , I overheard the workers going through a customers bag of clothes they brought to sell and the two ladies working there around 2:30-3:00 were more interested in what they could get for themselves not actually trying to buy clothes from customers. I would change the staff all together , regardless this is always my last resort when I'm short on cash. I would never recommend selling here they are looking for clothes they want to buy not the store . read more

Granted a few dollars is better than nothing when ultimately, everything I bring here is stuff I want to get rid of anyway. Plato's closet is a consignment store geared towards teens and young adults. They focus on brands teens lean towards, like wild fable, etc. The brands you would find in the teen section of a dept. store. They carry both women and men items. Prices start at $5 and go up from there depending on the item. This Plato's store is bright, clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking lot has ample space. I came in to sell some items. They registered me and took my bag for review. Upon completion of the review they text you. They advised what they wanted and what they weren't taking and provided me with a cash offer. The entire process took roughly an hour but it was fairly simple and painless. Would definitely consider them again for selling certain items in the future. read more

Wow let me start by saying this place loves wasting time. I brought 2 bags full of brand name items and they end up buying two things out of the 15+ items that I brought. They also told me 35 minutes and they would send me a text when it's ready. I waited 2.5 hours and I called asking what was happening and they were confused on why I never received a text. Useless. They bought my two things for $8 which is literally laughable. This place fucking sucks and needs to go out of business asap. The employees need to lose their jobs. read more

Brought my clothes in today and he told me it would be a two hour wait for them to go through my stuff fine then he tells me I have to come back today in order to get cash and if I can't come in today then I will have to take store credit then he tells me that they will not call me once they are done going through my clothes I have to call them. He says call after two hours and we can tell you what we want to keep I call and then they proceeded to tell me that they cannot give out that information over the phone. Wasted my time driving across town left work early to come back to get my money to only make $38 when I dropped off four bags of clothing. Not worth it, and their policies are absolutely ridiculous for a cheap consignment store. read more

I was honestly blown away by their selection for women's clothing. Great brands and styles and plenty to find! I did notice a lot of clothes had rips/tears/minor holes but it's most likely from hangers and from constantly being tried on. The store seemed like it was treated rough by customers but the staff was consistently organizing and putting away clothing. Good deals too! The weekend is definitely busy so go early if you can. read more

I visited here to try out thrift shopping and find some unique outfits, but was severely disappointed in the mens clothing selection. There was not that many good clothes in my size and there was not any mens items in the clearance either. I also noticed there were little to no accessories or shoes for men. SELLER'S PERSPECTIVE - I've been packing up to move the last few months so I've been to both Uptown Cheapskate and Plato's Closet to sell my clothes. In summary, I would recommend Uptown Cheapskate over Plato's. The Good: Plato's employees were decently friendly. I would say their choosiness of clothing would be on par with Uptown Cheapskate. I took my 3 bags of clothing that were "rejected" by Uptown Cheapskate to Plato's to see if they would take anything due to their slightly younger niche. They only took one additional item. Though the wait time was long (see below) they were true to their time estimate. The Bad: The wait time was long compared to what I'd experienced at Uptown Cheapskate. I'd been to Uptown 3 times before and I'd had to wait 30, 15, and 45 minutes. When I came to Plato's on a Tuesday around 4pm the wait time was 1 hour and 15 mins! Though Uptown Cheapskate sucks at calling you even when you specifically ask to be called when your items are done being sorted, at Plato's when I asked if they would call me to let me know when they're ready they said they don't do that. You have to call them to see if they're ready early. The downside of the long wait time here is their strict policy (clearly noted at their counter) that if you leave your clothes overnight you don't get your rejects back and they only give store credit. Harsh!! I think I just prefer the calmer vibe at Uptown Cheapskate. The service at Plato's was pretty nice but a bit hectic. The workers at Uptown Cheapskate are a bit slower, calmer and make you feel more valued. read more

Do not waste your time selling here. Honestly, it's much more worth it to sell on Depop or other websites. I brought in two bags full of name brand, in demand styles from Polo, Ralph Lauren, Altrd State/Arula, American Eagle, Urban Outfitters, etc. They bought the single Lululemon top I had in there for $8. I had bought that shirt three years ago, so it wasn't even in season (or style) anymore compared to all the different clothes I brought in from 2023. I feel like I wasted my day and gas. The reviews for this place are pretty harsh, which I don't really understand. I think a lot of people get personally offended when the employees don't take everything they bring in..... *sigh* Moral of the story is: this location is clean, employees have always been kind when I've been in, and they take the gently used clothing that they feel will sell best in their store. Don't waste your time bringing clothes here to sell. They don't care if it's brand new or not. If it's not from this year or last, they don't want it. I brought in three bags and they took out about 15 pieces and said they would call me back in a few hours to let me know what they would take. I asked how long was a few hours because it was not worth my time to drive all way home if they're gonna call me back in an hour, my intuition told me to take my stuff then unfortunately I left it there only to be called an hour later to come all the way back to be told they were only going to except one item for $4.25. The item was brand new with the tag on it still I'd rather give it away then to give it to them to sell for $4.25. What a waste of my day. read more

Don't waste your time coming here, I went today to sell some clothes and had two full bags. They told me to go back in 45 minutes, when I went back to girl told me they didn't take any of my items because wear and tear and that they are full in inventory... total bullshit because 1) clothes I took to sell have been worn once or twice or never 2) they kept taking in other people stuff. It was my 1st time to Plato's Closet here in South Florida. I've sold clothes in the past at Buffalo Exchange (Hollywood, FL and New Orleans, LA and Los Angeles, LA) plus Wasteland (San Francisco and Los Angeles). Plato's Closet ain't the same as Buffalo Exchange and Wasteland in regarding buying some fashionable clothes but same concept to store credit or cash. I brought 6 bags of men's clothes n they just bought 6 Levi's pants, a couple of Dr Marten boots n a pair of TUK shoes. All the other stuff wasn't bought at all. I was really disappointed but I can understand. It's a cool place but don't expect them to buy everything. read more

I have been to this location a couple of times and it is rare that I find clothing that I like. A couple of times I have also brought clothes to sell, and what I don't understand is their policy as far as what clothes they accept. Sometimes I see clothes that I don't know how it ended up on the rack; clothes that are very simple or with stains on them, very few sections of the store have clothes that are trending. Their purses and bags sometimes have rips on them and a few stains as well. But for most of the store, it looks like a lot of the clothes are very bland or just not in style so I don't understand how I have bought so many clothes that are more in style than what they have on the rack and they don't take it. I'm going to try a different location because this location just isn't doesn't have a lot of interesting styles and options. read more

Came here hoping the reviews were wrong since it's the closest location to my house but sadly I was disappointed. When I dropped my things off at 1:50PM they said it would be a 4 hr wait for them to go through it for buy backs, that would put us at exactly 6PM. Out of pure curiosity, I decide to call at 4PM just to check if it might be ready. The guy who answers the phone says it's ready but to come before 6PM or I'll have to settle for Store Credit (even thought they close at 8PM) Uh, what? I told him I didn't want store credit and that the thought he would even suggest that when they said it takes 4 hrs to go through is crazy. So, what if I hadn't called earlier? They DEFINITELY are not going above and beyond for their patrons, so expecting them to call me when it's ready if lunacy. I'm just wondering if I would of called at 6PM (like they said) to get my things then, then would I've been stuck with store credit? That's unacceptable and should be made clear with signs by the buy back area. So I rush over in monsoon weather conditions to make it before 6PM to collect my items. The same male who answered the phone is now the one giving me my buy back change. He offers no itemized print out of their buys (no receipt) and when I asked the guy for the receipt, the manager (who had been on the phone the whole time) interjects to say "you have to ask for it before hand." And I explained to her that when I was there the last time I got one and I didn't have to ask for it. She cut me off and just kept regurgitating the same thing "you have to ask for it beforehand." What added insult to injury was when she grabbed the paper receipt that only says the total and not the itemized part and waved it in my face and said "here, just take this one." Again, I explained I wanted the itemized receipt. Then she tells me that she only gave it to me last time without me having to ask for it because it was her and she's the only one who does that but that the other employees aren't trained for that, WUT? No professional standard whatsoever. The whole experience is just unorganized, unprofessional and now in retrospect I'm not surprised that this establishment has such poor rating. I've never really had a bad experience but there is quite a bit of "junk" on the racks the needs to be taken out to make room for new. I went to this location only after learning that the Pembroke Pines location is now closed. My cousin was selling a few items and the wait here was 15-20 minutes too long. We were welcomed to browse, but as we was not in a shopping mood, we just stood in front of the registers balancing our tired arms on the clothing racks waiting for his name to be called. Do not waste your time taking your stuff to this place. The customer service concept doesn't exist, their representatives are not prepared to handle customers in a right way. They receive your stuff and then ask you to leave it for approximately 3 hours to review it and to quote it. After the 3 hours elapsed they choose less than 10% of your stuff and offered to pay a ridiculous amount. When asking about the rest the answer was: "Our inventory has too much of that". My question was: Why you don't say that when receiving it? read more

I dropped clothes off to sell & came back not even 24 hours later to find out they kept 11 of my items, wouldn't tell me exactly what items they kept, & only offered me store credit of $33. Some girl came over to tell me that they changed their store policy & if you leave things overnight for any reason they will keep your items & only offer store credit. Apparently it says it in the new agreement you sign at drop off but I've sold to PC locations for over 10 years so didn't feel the need to read the agreement this time. Someone should have said something at drop off. When I asked if I could just take my items back, one of the girls said "you can buy them back!" I feel like I got scammed.
