Generally, I'm usually the shopper. I love shopping here. Today I came to sell some clothing that I was no longer wearing. Check in was on an iPad and then ID is required for them to look over items. I had about 9 items, they purchased 3 items and the other items I was told were out of style and that they already had an overstock of my remaining clothing, so they chose to pass. I received a little over $10. Text message communication was nice. The wait for them to tell me when to come back was about 15-20 mins. Overall I was satisfied. The service was awful! I left them with 3 bags to go through with name brand stuff and on brand shoes and they took non of it. When asked why they didn't take any of it is because they barely looked through any of it. They rip people off. You could give them Gucci and receive two dollars from it. The value they have towards costumers is very poor. Would not recommend to anyone!!! read more

Honestly I have tried and tried to give this place a chance. Today I went to sell clothes- first off, they have flyers in store that say specifically what they are looking for each season and I used this to narrow down what I wanted to try to sell. One of the accessories on here is claw clips, was told that they do not take claw clips even after I pointed out that they have advertised that they are looking for them?? Okay, that's fine. Truly not a big deal. Next, I'm told I have to wait in store while they do my buy, which has never happened before. I asked if I could wait in my car right out front. No. Okay cool, maybe new policy? However I am also looking at multiple bins with buys on the shelf, mind you there are about two other people in the store and one is even labeled picking up at the end of the day? Also a lady came in after me with a buy and was not told that she needed to stay and wait. Anyways, so as i'm standing awkwardly waiting for my buy (at least give the customers somewhere to sit if you're going to make them wait in the store), i'm watching her not even unfold most of my clothes to even look at them. Just simply placing them to the side, still folded. I would understand not accepting my things if they were actually looked at. The final thing that led me to even leaving this review is that when she was done, I was offered $7 for a pair of jeans and a tank top. 2 items out of approximately 30. The reasoning was "We could not take most things because we are currently overstock. Maybe try to bring in shoes next time" ..... Why was this not communicated at the beginning of the buy? I would not have wasted my time standing in your store. I would rather have the generic wear and tear reasoning that they always give. Also, if you are overstocked with current season items (which is what I provided because I knew they were not buying summer clothes anymore, based on their flyer) then why are you accepting buys at all. I fully do not expect every item that I bring in to be bought, as I understand the risk of selling at any consignment shop. However I will say I feel the staff should do better at communicating and keeping expectations the same for everyone. read more

So apparently you cannot spend your hard earned money at this establishment. They wanted my drivers license for a $50 bill. Im actually known at the location but not trying to get specific special treatment. I'm not expecting them to know me. But at the same time , " poor planning on your part, does not necessitate an emergency on mine". Like why don't they have machines that tell them if money is real. Also , pens ?? Why do I have to prove who I am because you guys do not have the proper equipment to make sure that the money you're accepting is valid money!? Now mind you this was a NEW $50 bill that had the blue strip in it and all ‍what a joke ! And the snaggletooth girl behind the counter(not to be rude, but that's the only way I can describe her other than white) basic ‍ was very rude. For no reason!! Went to this store for the first time. There were only two employees in the store, which wasn't crowded at the time. One of the employees seemed afraid to help but did anyway and I felt bad for her. The other person whom I'm assuming was the Manager and/or "person-in-charge" was rude and not helpful AT ALL!! I brought several pairs of dress pants in on hangers that I thought would be helpful and easy to see. She said next time bring your clothes in a bag or box! When she finally did look at them she said we don't accept "formal" wear. Seriously? I thought formal wear was actually clothing you wear to proms, etc. To add frosting on the cake before they'd even considered talking to you or looking at the items, you had to "Register". This meant giving them your ID AND phone number for them to text you whenever they did look at your items. After this is when the rudeness came. This was a complete waste of my time and I feel an invasion of my privacy since they NOW have my Driver's License information and phone number! They don't even deserve any stars!!!! read more

I would say this is the best Plato's I've ever been to to sell clothes. I go to so many Plato's to sell my clothes and it's like they're so picky and never take anything. I'm so glad I drove 30 minutes to this one and they took almost all of my stuff. The staff was so nice and welcoming and they sort it through my stuff so quickly. Came into the store at 3pm and it's currently 5:30 and I am still waiting for my name to be called. They said it would be around and hour to and hour and twenty minutes. The staff doesn't seem like they care to get the job done. They stop in between every item the check to converse with other staff members. I would've given zero stars but that wasn't an option. I will never return to this store again. I went to sell items and I did not like the price they offered me for my items so I refused to sell them. The employees were rude and would not give me my items back. The manager refused to speak to me about the issue. If you are going to sell you're better off doing it online because they will not give you your moneys worth and will not work with you. They also apparently won't give your items back before you sell them either. read more

Buying - This location is a smaller store compared to Greensboro where I use to shop. Items are easy to find and I like the fact that it is not overwhelming when you walk in. They also have a great selection of name brand clothing and all types. However; I assume just recently they established a new policy and you are not allowed to bring in your purse into the fitting room. I have NEVER heard of any store doing this. I typically shop alone and did not feel comfortable leaving my purse on the back on the fitting room door or leaving it behind the counter as I did not have anyone to hold my purse. They will allow you to take your wallet and any valuable items into the room with you. This was a HUGE inconvenience and I will most likely leave my purse in the car next time I shop here. Selling - They are extremely picky. Go to Battleground to sell!! I brought in a couple bags of nice gently used name brand clothing. H&M and Abercrombie are the 2 stores I frequently shop at. They did not take anything, not one item. One of the associates said my clothing was not in style! Ok?! The next day I drove to Battlegound Plato s and they gladly took a couple shirts, H&M dresses, sweaters, etc and paid me $62 on the spot. They are super friendly too. I'm waiting at the moment on my buy. They said it would be 30 minutes. It's been nearly an hour and a half and they STILL haven't finished going through my stuff. I work retail, so I know things can get hectic. But with very few people in the store and supposedly only 2 people ahead of me, it shouldn't take this long. I have watched them talk about one skirt for the last 10 minutes trying to decide if they want to take it. I would literally forfeit the $3 I would make off of it for them to just make a decision. I had heard that this place was less overwhelming than the GSO store, so I decided to give it a shot. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to walk in, make 7 laps around the store, buy one thing, and then literally have to sit down and wait for my things to be looked at. There's one girl that's super nice (she was the one reviewing my clothes, long red braids), but I found the older woman and one of the other girls sharp and borderline rude. Shame. I'm very furious upon leaving. I had a bag full of clothes that most are from this year. I brought shoes never worn, and a formal dress that was worn once and is actually discontinued and on high demand. They only took 4 things. What makes it worse is that I'm 100 percent that they skimmed through it bc they knew I was getting mad because of how long I waited. I was told 45 minutes at the most, and waited an hour and a half. Mind you it is in the middle of a week day. Super pissed. I will never come back to this shitty store. read more
