Gross kids that get their "fashion" off Tik Tok and only take their friend's clothing. Clothes in there are real dingy and worn.

Definitely some room for improvement. Asked a young lady about any discounts and she talked slowly like i was stupid and was snappy with me. They definitely need to start training these teens, most of them look like they're slacking off and most they do is walk around the store "fixing things" read more

I have previously left a review and was pretty unhappy with the experience . I will say that within a year , their customer service has changed in a VERY positive way . There is not a single employee that is still there from a year ago . If you previously had a bad experience , give them another chance ! My experience lately has been great with them . Employees greet you , I even saw a girl helping out a customer with an outfit idea and it was wonderful seeing that kind of interaction . This experience I want to talk about in particular that brought me back on my review was from today . There were some sneakers that I saw on their Facebook story . I replied asking if I could put them on hold for a later pick up . They replied promptly and a girl checked thinking they had been sold already . Totally fine ! But this photo included was the response . Not only did they hold them for me , but once I picked them up she sent a follow up message about future help and was glad I was able to get them . This was phenomenal customer service on their end . Not to mention the lady I spoke with also previously mentioned that if they were sold she could try to find other options that are similar in the same size and send me pics . Wonderful experience and wonderful customer service !! read more

Plato's Closet - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Cordova, Tennessee

They are over pricing items that is lower than their price. Shouldn't it be cheaper than the store? I guess I will be headed back to the department stores where I can get my clothes brand new, since I would be paying more than the retail price. read more

Plato's Closet - $9.99 from Ross $16.99 at Plato's Closet - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Cordova, Tennessee

TERRIBLE service. They tell you the items that they need, but when you bring them in they always return them, due to "style, condition, and inventory" but I have given them clothes brand new with the tags still on there and get this as the response... horrible. Idk if the employees don't want to do their jobs or if they just are trying to get over on the customers altogether. For a brand new sports hoodie, and a new pair of khakis I was only offered $5, and I had a bag full of new items... this Plato's is very unprofessional and I honestly have no idea how they keep business. The workers are very friendly, but very deceiving as they make you believe you'll be getting something back when often times it's little to when nothing at all. read more

This place is actually hell on earth. And the smug little bitchs that work here have no training in costumer service. I could talk to a brick wall and get more progress. And when they say it's going to take a hour just know it will take five. This is actually ridiculous. The girls who work in the god forsaken establishment are not even doing their job. For the past hour they have been slacking off in the back gossiping and eating hot Cheetos which is so unprofessional. Take some pride in your job. My sister and I both brought in a a single duffel bag each of clothes there has been no other costumers this should have taken maybe 20 minutes. This is a waste of my time and honestly gas Money. NEVER GO HERE. TRUST ME. I wish I could give 0 stars but unfortunately that is not an option read more

Service was terrible . Employees act as if they didn't want to be there . I brought 3 bags of clothes and boxes of shoes . Many of the items with the tag still on them because I didn't get to wear them. I'm not sure if they were ready to go due to it being an hour before closing . I feel like they didn't even go through the bags because when I came back , they informed that they didn't want any of the items because they don't accept children sizes . Mind you I'm a woman's size 9. I gave them my size 5s and 7s. That let me know that they didn't even look through the stuff . I just took it to the Salvation Army instead because I know for sure they'd want alot of brand new clothes and shoes. read more

Drove all the way out from Collierville to sell clothes. It was 7pm & they claimed they weren't taking clothes. They close at 9pm?? It wouldn't have been a big deal if they would actually pick up the phone or have some information on their website on when they stop taking clothes... read more

I have been to this Plato's several times over the years and they never lack for anything. I swear I always come out like a bandit here with great items. Now as far as selling stuff, I usually just won't waste my time because they're nitpicky. However, you understand why once you see the products that they have and why they have high-quality stuff. Staff were friendly and were kind enough to assist me when needed. I do think they overquote timing on when they say they will be done going through your items to sell, but minus that, they are very efficient. This latest visit, I got away with some LL Bean duck boots and a couple of sweaters along with some jewelry. I was stoked with my purchases! This is one of the better locations in the West Tennessee region in my opinion. read more

They sell a pair of jeans for 40$$$ yet they tried giving me 2$ for a brand new fashion nova dress. This place is a joke filled with rude teenagers who can't even greet. Honestly don't waste your time atleast not here! read more

so long story short was we brought pleanty of good clean items they returned it all because of staining on "some" items. 1. how do you return all of it bc of staining on "some of the items" that don't make any sense. 2. some of these have never been worn but we wasted laundry soap on them anyway. 3. one time about a year ago I brought in a pair of size 12 jeans and the dude at the counter turned it away bc " teens don't wear that size" I WAS 16 when my mom bought them. sorry my size offends you. how are you going to have a board saying "this is what we want" but don't take any of it. also we fully believe that they never actually checked anything bc it said it would be ready at 5:15 but we dropped it off at 2:30 so tell me why they were saying it was ready at 3:30-4:00????? also store looked extremely trashy I would love to get paid to call people fat and not clean the store I work in. Kindly learn better manners read more

Jada and Sydney are the best service reps ever I really wanted to find some white air forces and they dug through FIVE bins to help me. I appreciate there sincerity and dedication. Thank you guyssss!! read more

I'm sure that Plato's Closet would have been a goldmine to me when I was a teenager, but that was 20 years ago (gasp!), so I can't honestly say that I feel comfortable wearing a lot of the trendy styles found here. I do like to find a good fitting pair of jeans though, so I will stop in every once in a while to see what brand names might be available. You'll find a lot of Abercrombie and Hollister- cute items for teens and college kids. The clothing is all in good condition, as items are inspected under super bright lights before accepted. I don't really have the wardrobe anymore to try and sell items here, but I've heard that they give you a pretty fair deal and cash is on the spot. read more

Plato's Closet - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Cordova, Tennessee

I would never leave a terrible review but this place is a joke. I brought in a tub of clothing filled with Calvin Klein, LOADS of Forever 21, Gianni Bini, Target - you name it, practically all new with tags. They took TWO (out of easily 40) items, after saying they didn't think some items would sell well and they don't take items over 18 months old (the only two items they took were 3+ years, new with tags). They offered me $4. This place was a waste of my time. I have better luck selling on Instagram and Facebook. The items in their store were more out of date than the majority I brought in, I know because I brought in some of the SAME items! Drive past this place and take your clothes to Clothes Mentor instead. Way better chance. read more

Brought a 150$ pair of Jordans in and 2 purses both 100$+ MK purses and a bunch of clothes and expensive female shoes and they offered us 67$. What a joke. I could sell each thing for more than 67$ lol. Place is a joke and you'll be lucky to get 15% of what you paid for it from them. Low balling POSes read more

They want dumb emoji shirts, but won't take like new nice button ups, Sweaters, t shirts, and much more. I had over 60 articles of clothing and had to drive there multiple times just to finally get someone to take them, then they said they'd call me when they checked it out and they never did. Then I called back and it was ready so I went to see what I'd be offered. They took nothing, most of the clothes were worn twice or less I kid you not perfect like new condition shirts of all kinds, styles, and types. They give me one bag and me not thinking just takes it, oh they shorted me 40+ articles of my own property. WOW! I had to drive back up AGAIN(5-6 times at this point) to get my stuff they didn't give me. This place has even more wrong with it, like the fact that it's ran by high school kids, it's always little kids that have no idea about diversity in fashion or how to run an organized professional looking business. They talk nice to you so it's not an attitude problem though(from the only person I dealt with at least) A lot of the clothes are decent, prices are just ok at best. The service is absolutely terrible in every way form and fashion and that's the sole reason I'll never go there again and I'd suggest the same for anyone else. read more

So I called in advance before I drove all the way here, was told they would stop accepting clothes @5 I arrived @ 4:30 just to be told they stopped accepting clothes @4. Wasted time, gas and money. Don't hire lazy people to do a job they signed up for. read more

Brought in free people clothes that I forgot to return within their accepted time period. Meaning about $500 of never worn, brand-new free people clothes. They didn't want most of the items but said they would accept one pair of jeans and one dress (they still had tags on and together were about $140 retail). The girl told me they would give me NINE DOLLARS. Huh????? I looked at the girl like she was crazy and told her no thanks. I'm just going to resell them myself. Plato's Closet was absolutely ridiculous and wasted my time. read more

The prices are amazing here. Which does mean that you don't get a ton for the items you bring in. But they don't give you peanuts and then turn around and sell it for 4 times the amount. The staff there has been great and will look through your items in a reasonable amount of time. It's great to get a few bucks for things I would have otherwise tossed. read more

Plato's is very cool with the teen and early twenty's set. My daughter used to love it when she was a bit younger and shopped here a lot. It's a resale clothing store catering to that age group, with really trendy items that are in great shape and at great prices. Of course, not only do they sell clothing, they buy it. My daughter has taken in a lot of things over the years, which is a great way to clean out your closet and make a few extra bucks in the process. But they are very picky about the items they will buy from you. They have to be in very good condition and be really "in". If it's old and outdated, you can forget it. read more

New $150 dollars shoes for $17. Don't ever go to this store and try selling expensive items you will get ripped off. End of the day i dint sold them anything. Plus they start at 7.50 n hour like come on don't sell them nothing off good price. There broke pretty broke read more

I'm a petite gal and I sometimes find little items here that I can wear that don't look too teenybopper-esque. Word to the wise -- be sure that the clothes that you sell are in very good shape. No pilling, no stain that you really think that you can't see under a certain light, etc. They're pretty selective, which ultimately brings a better product to the store. You'll find a variety of decent jean brands -- basically all mainstream, youthful mall brands -- Hollister, Abercrombie, Guess?, etc. They even carry True Religion jeans, which is nice. I like to scan the items -- and be prepared to root around -- the clothes are packed in -- for Guess? items. It's sometimes hit or miss, but it's probably a goldmine for a teenaged girl or boy. read more

I heard about this place from family. I then found a groupon for it. So, I decided to bring my teenage daughter to use the groupon and get some summer clothes. We walked in and no one acknowledged us. Clothes look very worn and they are overpriced. My daughter eventually found a few things. Tried redeeming a Groupon and they couldn't figure it out. Super frustrating. They just ended up giving me extra punches on a punchcard for when I return again. That's not what I wanted! I wanted to redeem a Groupon that I already paid for...and I don't really want to come back again. read more

They have good clothes but if you want to try and sell clothes to them you'll just ripped off and stand there saying "excuse me" when they offer you $15 cash for two pairs of designer jeans that look new and a crap ton of 'trendy' name brand tops. You're better off selling on eBay or Vinted or anything else. Just don't waste your time trying to sell. read more

The last 3 times I have taken my kid's young adult clothing in there, they took nothing. These clothes are in great condition, trendy, barely worn clothing. Very disappointed that I wasted my time. I will not be trying again. I'll donate to goodwill or the veterans and get a better return with the tax write off. read more

Just dropped off two trash bags full of really nice clothing that I know for a fact would've sold. I came back almost 2 hours later when I already drove 30 minutes to their store in the first place. They took NOTHING. I had Levi jeans, miss me jeans, Maurice's jeans and tops, and so much more that I simply don't wear anymore. Needless to say I'm pissed and I do not want this place to have my business anymore. Extreme waste of time. I almost want to say the workers didn't even look through my bag. Very pissed. read more

Would give 5 stars for customer service, selection and price of merchandise. Would only give 2 starts for prices given for clothing sold or traded in to them. All in all a great place to shop, just not to sell to. They also give 15% military discount and there is a Groupon right now as well. read more

I have been here a couple times while in town and picked up some really nice stuff for reasonable prices. This plato's has a pretty large selection of men's items, unlike the ones that are closer to home. I wish the local plato's in MD/VA were this nice! read more

Love this store! Shop and sell clothing here often. I have never left the store empty handed, or with an empty wallet! I literally can buy the same exact items I would at the mall, or Academy, or Target and pay half the price, if not less! And it's wonderful because the clothing is in good condition. Selling clothes has always been wonderful for me, if you follow the guidelines the employees explain to you, it will work in your favor! And coming in to all the friendly faces always makes it even better #bbuchanan2016 read more

Unless you have clothes by young teenager favorites like Limited express and forever 21, don't bother. They don't take clothes of a higher quality or "too professional " looking. read more

Absolute terrible customer service. You walk in, and no one wants to acknowledge you. When you tell them you have clothes to bring in, they begrudgingly tell you to just bring it in to the front. I had four whole large bags of nice purses, shoes, and clothing. Things that had never even been worn before in the bags. They tell me to wait about 25 minutes, and they will have looked through all the bags to give me a quote. In less than that, I get a text message saying they will be giving me back all my clothing. At that point, I was in disbelief. I walked up to the front and mentioned it to the girl, completely different girl than when I came in. She proceeds to give me a list of ridiculous reasons that they don't accept clothing. There is no way they looked through all the clothes, shoes, and accessories I brought in. These people are CROOKS. What they want you to do, is bring in a bunch of clothing, to tell you that they won't accept any of it. Knowing you will not want to haul all the things you brought all the way back out, they are now able to sell a bunch of things they got absolutely free! If I could give this place less than ZERO stars, I would. read more

I will never ever go back to the store again I sent in things out of my closet. A leather jacket with the tag still on it I went back to pick up my items they told me they couldn't take any of my things that it had a smell to it I need to wash them first however I did have things they really wanted. How degrading. Not to mention a waste of time. Can't wait to see the next company putting Plato's out of business where they deserve to be. . read more

So basically this store buys and sells used (gently) clothing. You MUST bring in newer items and not things that have been in your attic for years. I will never return to this store. Awful experience. The customer service was the worst I've experienced anywhere. Nobody welcomes you in or asks to help you. I was selling to the store and was horrified as to what happened. I brought in a bag mostly with designer jeans to sell. I came to pick up my items and when I did there were multiple mistakes. There were two items in my bag that I did not bring in!!! Then, I got concerned so I looked through my items. And noticed something upsetting, a pair of my jeans were missing. The little guy who went through my items did not even offer to help find my missing pair of jeans (he is the one who put other peoples items In my bag in the first place) he did not seem to care at all I was highly upset my jeans were missing. The store manager came over to help and finally I asked if she could go back through the camera. She didn't see any mistakes on the camera at first so I asked if I could see the video. Clearly, watching the video you can see the little guy put my jeans either in the bin or on the floor, not back in my bag. Well, I pointed it out to the store manager and she agreed she saw the mistake. But when we went back on the sales floor, her attitude changed and suddenly she didn't see the mistake... she is the store manager!!!!!! Well, they never found my jeans and the only thing the manager could offer me was a punch card for 20% off my next purchase... ummm there will never be a next purchase. I asked for the district managers phone number and told her if she can't figure out what to do about my missing jeans I'm going to the BBB. And she smirked which made me even more livid. This is the absolute worst experience I've had with a customer service facility and hope for the worst for their business. Now, I have called the DM and have yet to hear back from her. Worst experience, will never recommend to anyone to go there to buy or sell. read more
