This was my first experience shopping at Plato's Closet. Cailin, Rebecca (I think that's how you spell it) and the team were so nice to me. After I walked in the front entrance I was greeted with "hello how are you and let us know if you need anything or have questions". That was a good start for me! The employees kept asking me if they wanted to take the clothes off my hands and place them in a bin with my name. These employees were very helpful! They checked in on me from time to time. When I was in the process trying on my clothes Rebecca was helpful to count 6 items max to hang in my changing room. They were very nice and asked if the clothes were fine for me and placed the "yes to the clothes" in my bin. When I was at the cashier, Cailin asked how I was, if everything was ok and asked what my plans were afterwards. They were so welcoming! The only thing is the amount of space to walk through aisles. I've noticed it's really only a one-way walk aisles but there are areas where 2 people can squeeze on by. Other than that I had a great experience! read more

I really wanted to leave a positive review, but I can't. The clothing is extremely overpriced, especially for items that appear to be from stores like SHEIN or Target. The staff was rude. I wasn't greeted when I came in, and I noticed a couple of other customers weren't greeted either. After looking through Google reviews, I saw similar experiences mentioned. The owner's responses to reviews come across as passive-aggressive, and when concerns about racism were raised, the response referenced having African-American grandchildren instead of directly addressing the issue, which felt dismissive. There's also a sign stating that shoplifters will be posted on social media, yet I didn't see any such posts on their page. Overall, the experience wasn't worth it. read more

They don't mention anywhere on their site that they stop "accepting orders" 2 hours before they close. I completely understand and respect the logic HOWEVER, it would be helpful to post this literally anywhere on their website so people don't drive 30 minutes to bring clothes to sell and find out from a rude staff that they missed the cutoff by 15 minutes and are SOL. The lack of thoughtfulness and lack of customer service makes me not want to come back to sell, much less buy from them. read more

Not worth the time or effort I brought in 30-40 clean, folded items in good condition. Only one item (with tags) was accepted. The payout was $4. Expecting more than one item to be taken from a batch this size is reasonable. Being told everything else was "out of style" feels like a blanket excuse rather than a fair evaluation, especially when the items included jeans and seasonally appropriate sweaters. This location is extremely stingy. The amount of time and effort required to prep items is not justified by the return. If you value your time, this is not a practical resale option. There are better alternatives that offer more consistent and transparent evaluations. Not worth the time unless your items are brand-new with tags. Sellers should manage expectations or consider other resale options. read more

Staff was rude. Not friendly, seriously lacking customer service skills. There was writing on tags for certain items throughout the store I asked what the writing indicated and was told "I don't know, ask someone else"! Felt like a bunch of judgmental mean girls working there that forgot they work in a THRIFT store. Bizarre. read more

I take my granddaughter here to shop and the clothes are reasonably priced for the most part. I have also taken clothes in to sell. There is absolutely no consistency in what they will accept. I have purchased hoodies and jerseys from teams in other states. I just took in a couple Cowboys and Kansas City hoodies. I was told they only accept items that are from Colorado sports teams. I then purchased a Michigan sweatshirt. These employees need to get on the same page. read more

Had some items of his to sell so we brought a tote with them in it. They prefer a tote as it's easier to look through. Went to the register to receive a text allowing us to check in. They had a sidewalk sale so I browsed while we waited. Checked out the other items in the store as well. Then we received the text that our items had been processed and were ready. They bought some clothes from us and we took cash for them. It was an easy process. The only thing subjective is their selection of what to purchase. Since some items we had purchased from them but they didn't choose those even though they weren't worn down. read more

It's an ok selection. They only take "trendy clothing" but give u almost nothing for the clothing. Looks mostly like xs-xl not much variety.

They only sell basic yt girl clothes there is nothing truly fashionable in this store and size selection is minimal. Go if you like Vineyard Vines, H&M, Aerie, Hollister, forever 21. But don't expect to see any actually interesting or appealing clothing items if you like to dress for real. read more

Unfortunately, we have had the same poor experience as many other reviewers here mentioned. Unfriendly and icy reception from employees the moment we entered the store. Despite all the horrible reviews I saw about this place, I thought I would check it out anyways. I dropped off a ton of clothes. Some brand new with tags on them. Expensive dresses name brand items. When I went back after they texted me saying they were done, they told me they had to pass on all my items. UNREAL! Please do not waste your time here. It's false advertising. Platos closest offers barely anything for your clothes. I took in the arctic orange jordan's brand new and they offered $20. They estimate 15-20 minutes but takes over an hour to complete the buy. While there's buys needing to be completed the group of staff are posing in the front of the entrance for an instagram story. read more

Really great place for thrifting! They have the best finds here and the greatest customer service. If you love thrift ing name brand clothing, this is the place for you. By far my favorite Plato's I've been to to date. read more

I've been coming to this Plato's closet for years. Definitely one of the better Plato's closet in Colorado and I've gone to every Plato's in the state. I buy and sell here. There selection is pretty good with tons of size variety. When it comes to buying they normally take a good chunk of what I bring in, and give you an okay amount for it. Is your stuff worth more? yes, but sometimes it's easier to sell here then wait to sell online and then ship etc. only complaint is sometimes they won't take brand name stuff with tags but then will take some stuff they maybe ... shouldn't. Also they have the best Instagram page out of all the other Plato's and it's nice that you can hold stuff via Instagram. read more

I've visited here a few times and am often not impressed with the selection, but am always hoping for something different. Tonight I visited and the young lady helping me was acting very odd. Blood shot eyes and speaking very slow and lethargic. She kept stopping mid sentence because she couldn't remember what she was saying. She even stopped me throughout the store as I was browsing to ask "Hi, how are you?" Not in a checking-in-on-you kinda way, but as if she hasn't already spoken to me before. Very odd behavior. Not to mention they offer nothing compared to the value of the clothes you bring in to sell. I understand they need to make a profit, but I was offered $4 a piece for a North Face Denali full zip jacket (originally $180) and a True Grit fleece quarter zip (originally $150) both in almost new, gently used condition. I recently sold clothing here and got a decent amount of cash! However, I didn't find anything in the store I thought was worth buying. A lot of the shoes and clothing they have on the racks are in really bad condition; faded colors, stains, and holes! Selling yes. Buying no. I came in here to just browse and check out the goods. Second hand stores and I are bff's. So needless to say a more upscale second hand store is the place for me! Here's the top 3 reasons to check out Plato's Closet: 1) I love the way they organize the store! By color and then size. Makes it great if you are looking for something blue and then you can just browse through until you get to your size and style you want! 2) They have a punch card! Once it's full you get a percentage off your next purchase. I think you also get a punch for every $10 you spend... 3) They carry the most current styles and everything is in great shape! ...okay I do have a 4th reason! 4) You can bring in your gently used threads and get credit for your purchase! went in there and I was being watched like I was a thief, pretty much only asking me if I needed anything just to look at my person. the workers were giving this vibe like they were better than me. and they weren't even pretty, they have on forever 21 and work at a thrift store. acting like it's dillards the area that the store is in is not a poor area and the fact that I felt like I was being objectified by another woman is ridiculous. i hope they read this so I can tell them "I make more than you" lol read more

I don't like giving bad reviews but this place-this specific one is missing the mark. Unless you are trying to resell "Holister, Aeropastel, American Eagle or name brands like that" it's not worth the effort or time. The girl behind the counter doesn't even know what a PeaCoat is!!!! And is only looking at one thing! The label. Pretty sad since this is a consignment shop! Not the mall! Maybe don't have 16 year old girls making judgement calls on clothing to resell. Sorry but out of all of my things-Not one item was taken....because these girls have no clue, just know one thing and that's a label. And when you tell me you DON'T KNOW WHAT A PEACOAT IS or don't recall seeing it because you literally have no clue, it tells me one thing. You don't need to be in retail. Also while waiting I perused through the clothes-nothing special and I saw few brand names being sold. Not to mention-it isn't cheap. This is a consignment shop! So definitely a thrift shop for teen clothes. Been here a handful of times, my teens a two different sizes, never have much lunch finding cute clothes in anything larger then a size L or pant size 9. Its there but it's not what kids are wearing, all the stuff I have purchased has small holes in it, so I'm not sure who it doing the body check on these but they are definitely or in my opinion not sellable. I signed up for the text and email notifications but if you forget to mention that at check out you don't get the discount even though you enter your telephone number that is linked to your account. Needless to say I'm disappointed with the quality and pricing of this place. I think it's worth to spend the extra money and buy something brand new that's not damaged you're probably lying to paying a few bucks more. Worth it to me. read more

I have been coming here for over six years. I typically love this place, the people working and I always buy a large quantity of clothes. Whoever rung me out yesterday afternoon literally crumpled up the clothes I bought and shoved them in a bag. The clothes I got that are leather or faux leather are badly dented and everything now needs to be steamed. I have never had a person working there treat my clothes with such little tact or care. She could have easily folded or just gently placed them in the bag. Seriously disappointed at this sudden lack of care. read more

Platos has an Instagram account where they post pictures of the clothing and you can hold it. They say the first person who comments "hold" on the post, gets the clothing. Well I commented first on a post and instead of responding to my comment, they did not follow their own rules regarding who comments first and gave the piece of clothing to someone else. After calling all they said was "sorry" and that they could place me as second in line for the clothing. I feel as if this Platos location needs to be loyal to ALL customers if they are going to have this account for people to hold clothes. I do not recommend that you place something on hold for Platos through their Instagram account If their loyalty is not fixed. read more

Absolutely irritated. Went into the store with 5 big bags and 2 boxes. All of the 7 were filled and overflowing with clothes. I was told it would take about an hour to get it all sorted. The associates weren't all that nice. I looked around the store while waiting for my clothes to be processed. Most of the clothes never worn with tags. After about an hour they were ready. They gave me $20 for 4 things. 1 of which was a prom dress that was originally $180 and a never worn pair of jeans with tags on them still. Platos closet is a waste of time. Gonna try and find a different place to give these clothes for money. Never going there again! read more

Whenever I need a new wardrobe I always resort to this Plato's Closet. The owner or head manager is the sweetest lady and constantly has the best promotions for her clients. The store is very organized and has some of the cutest styles to choose from. I've never had a bad experience with this retail store. I like it the best out of all the ones near by in Aurora. I really think they suck when you try to trade in clothing not impressed with the clothing will not go back.

My daughter loves selling and trading top brands and styles. The store is a little crowded and we've purchased some items that have been returned that were damaged, but you get a lot of bang for your buck. $12 American Eagle jeans and $18 Abercrombie winter coat, both were barely, if ever worn. read more
