So disgusted and disappointed I hate when I feel like I'm being ripped off. I will spread the Word all over so others don't experience my disgust. The company I used to book the party bus "platinum ride limos" apparently just like to rip ppl off and take there money. They are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. I was late 15 mins from being dropped back off which the driver was aware of and stated not to worry. I checked my credit card and They charged me an additional $135, which was a full hour fee for services they DID NOT provide. Once I saw this additional charge on top of all that I spent for there services not to mention leaving the driver a Big Tip Just to basically be dropped off. I called the owner who basically implied that money meant more to him then his customers or future business of others would. I personally will spread this throughout Arizona. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM TRUST ME. If I could give a negative star I would, no need and sending a pretend response on the bottom of the review actting surprised or as if your company had no knowledge of this. Better yet Attempting to make fellow yelpers believe differently. I attempted and spent majority of my morning conversing about this with your company who could careless. It was very clear to me speaking with management that you could careless about your customers. We used them last weekend for our annual Christmas event. Reserved their largest party bus- a "42" person party bus. LUCKILY, we had 8 people who were sick and couldn't make the event. There was barely enough room for the 34 people we did have. We might have had enough room for two more very small sized people, but nowhere near 42 people would've fit on that bus. The driver did a good job getting us to our different stops. He was nice and polite. The only issue that is out of line and ridiculous as all heck is the mandatory 20% tip that is due BEFORE YOUR EVENT EVEN HAPPENS. (Approx $350 for our event) If the service is not stellar, it doesn't matter, because we've already paid the tip-they've really got no incentive to do a good job. Luckily we had no problem. Please note that on the contract, the tip is referred to as the "tip". On the receipt, the tip is referred to as a "service charge". The driver may or may not try and tell you that there was no "tip"applied, and request a tip in cash at the end of the night. We almost double tipped our driver because he said there was no "tip" added on the card...... That's because the wording is changed from "TIP" to reflect a "service fee" on the receipt instead. Then we were told the "service fee" was actually a "delivery fee", NOT a tip. Wait, huh?! That seems a little shady to me. Maybe this is normal practice in this line of business. Or just this company-- Bottom line- 20% TIP IS MANDATORY BEFORE YOUR EVENT, so don't get confused after a rip-roaring night on the town and tip additionally, unless of course, you want to. Now you know. Overall they did a good job. But I will admit, I had already been practicing my small claims court case inside my head for bogus tip charge and bad service. After calling 4 different Limo companies, and filling out 2 other online price quotes... i was willing to call off my 21st birthday party bus. No one was friendly, the companies i was interested in either took 3 weeks to get back to me or acted like i was crazy for asking questions about what was included in the fee. One company even said that i should email them questions because he was too busy... i did, no response. Then I called Platinum Rides, after looking at their great website of course. One of the owners answered the phone and treated me like i was his friend . He was willing to answer all of my questions. He even made some recomendations and where we could get in without cover. Their price was by far the best. When the big night came, the driver was on time and was very professional (esp. for dealing with 15 drunks). Before even getting all the details about my event for which I wanted to book them, they offered to show me their entire fleet of vehicles so I was choosing the right one for my party. Because we were going out for my husband's birthday party, we reserved one of their limo buses. Holy crap, that bus was amazing. It was beautiful, spacious, with a great sound system, and came stocked with waters and glasses for us all to use! Plus, our drive was incredible. Stay away!! Was quoted $350 for a one way trip to a concert. Got billed an extra $700 for two hours of "overtime". They said it should only take 30 minutes to get from Cactus/Scottsdale to Rawhide Chandler, so I was responsible for any extra time after that. What?? That would be a tough drive in a sports car with no traffic, let alone in a stretch limo during rush hour to a concert venue. So I ended up paying $1,050 for a one way trip less than 3 hours. Ridiculous. Do not use these guys, they are clearly only interested in collecting as many dollars as possible!! If you choose to proceed, you better read all of their terms & conditions very carefully, because these guys obviously don't care about making their customers happy or potential future business. One complaint can be overlooked, but please read all the complaints on this board before calling these guys. read more

We booked platinum rides for a 30th bday party, and couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience. The driver was prompt, courteous, and super accommodating. We booked a stretch navigator for a 5 hour night, and when our plans changed unexpectedly and we needed an extra hour, he was very patient and professional. Wish he would have taken some pictures in front of the limo for us, but we hired a limo...not a photographer...i get it. The car was in great condition, had plenty of glassware and ice, and comfortably sat 14 (we even had space for more). The limo took our classy affair to the next level. When booking they do have a no refund policy, so make sure of your dates and times. But the office was a pleasure to work with and overall a very reliable company. I was not pleased with the service provided to me by this limo company. The driver rushed my wedding party and I as a result we were unable to complete bridal pictures at the ceremony site. I asked the best man whom pleaded with the driver to extend the reservation time however the driver was not able to assist us and continued to rush us regardless. I wouldn't have mind paying for overtime, the least the driver could've done is worked with us in contacting his boss regarding our wishes. In the midst of a Pandemic, this company was not willing to refund $ put towards a party bus rented during the Week of March 19th. Twenty-four people were signed up to use this company, as they were going to a combined Bachelor/Bachelorette Party this week. Most were traveling from Nebraska. Due to the Pandemic, all flights were canceled, the trip was canceled. However, per email, this company informed the organizer, that it was a "courtesy" to refund 20%. Poor ethics, poor practice. If this Bachelor/bachelorette party is re-scheduled (most likely not, as at this time we are hoping for the wedding to still stay on as scheduled), due to the ethics of this company, we will not be using it. Do not hire this company. We contacted Platinum Rides for an estimate and they gave us the hard sell. They seemed like nice people, told us it was a family business whose goal is to accommodate their customers but that's all part of their scheme. We agreed on a price of $600 for a pickup/drop off. It was an outrageous price tag to begin with but we thought it would be a fun experience with our friends. What the driver doesn't make clear is if you make even one stop, they charge you a wait fee of $600. In total, we were charged $1,200 for 60 minutes in the limo. That's $20 a minute. The driver had us sign a receipt (in the dark) once we were dropped off. He said it was just a confirmation receipt saying that we successfully arrived at our destination. Apparently that signature gave them the right to charge the credit card on file the additional $600. We called them and said we understood why there was a fee but that $1,200 for 60 minutes was price gouging. They were rude, unprofessional and completely unwilling to bring the fee down. We wish we would have read ALL of their reviews because it's clear this isn't the first time they've done this to their customers (and their "fees" are getting higher and higher). We're reporting them to the BBB. We have lawyers involved. So many great options in Scottsdale for a limo service - don't use these guys. You will get ripped off. read more

Company was referred by a friend who is an event planner for our HOA. The buses are very nice and have been on them previously. HOWEVER do not make a reservation until 100% certain your plans are solid and you have an accurate head count. I made a reservation for a 30 passenger bus and tried to change to a smaller one more than 30 days before my event. They would not allow cancellations, or down size the bus. Unfortunately they were unaccommodating and neither myself our our HOA would use the company again. It is unfortunate so check with competitors before booking. The owner of this company sent me no less than 20 harassing texts, and at no time addressed the question I posed to him about finding a smaller, less expensive bus. All he cared about was whether I would pull down my Yelp review. This guy would be out of business if I posted these texts. Oh, and BTW they charge twice as much as competitors. This place is an absolute rip off. I spent over 1000$ on a bus that was supposed to come fully stocked. What showed up was a bus with water and a driver who had no idea what he was doing. I repeatedly ask the driver to stop putting directions into his map as cell phones do not work in Maricopa and instead I would give him directions to where we needed to go. After 3 failed attempts he finally decided to listen to me and take me to my daughter's school. We go to the school late and had to park the bus on the street and have my daughter walk over versus parking in front like we planned because the cars picking up students beat us to the school. Next, we drove to McDonald's to purchase some snacks for the kids on board. When we were ready to leave the driver told me that we needed to wait for him because he ordered food and wanted to wait for it this made us late picking up our last person. Once we had all aboard the driver AGAIN did not know where he was going instead of asked where to go he drove around Maricopa for 20 additional minutes trying to figure out how to get back to the highway. Once at the party location the driver told us he had to leave and would be back at 715 to pick us up. during the course of the night, we told the owner of the company Joey we would like 1 additional hour and that we would like to be picked up from the front at 8pm. The driver did not show up until 8:23pm we drove home and I provided him with a tip begrudgingly because I too work in the service industry and feel that not tipping is not ok. 3 days later I received an additional bill for 400 dollars auto billed to my credit card for 2 hours or 400$ versus the agreed upon 200$ Today someone from their company called and basically said we are sorry but this is your fault so you have to pay!!! read more

Platinum Rides is a company I would never hire for any event for any reason. My very close friends were getting married and I was driving over in the limo to the venue with the groom. The driver never notified the groom that the car had arrived, so 30-minutes past the pick-up time, the groom walked outside and found out the limo had been outside the entire time. It was 95-degrees outside, so we go to get into the limo when the driver scolds us for getting in because the groom had to fill out paperwork which the groom thought had already been taken care of. When the driver dropped us off, she accused me and one other of stealing a champagne flute even though we never opened the two bottles or touched the flutes. Additionally, I witnessed phone conversations between the newly weds the day after their wedding with Joey and Frank, the owners of Platinum. They were rude, unprofessional, and lied about the circumstances that occurred that day and evening. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we all had an amazing time, but the thorn in the side of many on this special day, especially the bride and groom, was Platinum. Coming from New York, I have never witnessed such disrespect from a business owner towards paying customers, and I hope that Joey and Frank learn what customer service is because it is the way they spoke to the bride and groom and the way they treated the guests that will surely lose them business in the future. we rented a limo for the monster jam event. Limo Ac didn't work and was a warm day. Driver left the event to go to the mall during our show. When we left he made us walk 2 miles with three small kids to find him. Franks response was the Ac worked fine and proceeded to tell me how I was using it wrong. Yea cause it's my first time having to push the Ac button to make it work. Next he stated the driver was kicked out of the parking lot and would have had to pay for limo parking which was added cost. Guess the drivers phone was broken to get that whole $60 added cost approved to out $1000 bill for not making us walk 2 miles. If we believe that's why he left. We ended up being 30 minutes late getting home due to this 40 minute walk. The he billed me another $111. Let's see what would have Been the better thing here pay the $60 for parking or screw the customer and make them walk 2 miles and then charge them another $111 for another hour. I must say this limo company rocks, we had such a good time last weekend even tho during the early evening hours it was really warm in the car due to it being arizona, summer, and 110 outside by the time the sun went down we were just fine! The driver was great and knew exactly where to take us to when we asked him for some good locations. The car was clean and was 15 mins early to top it off. When I first called Platinum Rides, I was looking for a Hummer limo to go along with a "Rambo" bar crawl theme. They told me that they no longer carry the Hummer limo, and suggested a much larger and more comfortable option, a party bus! I have been on a couple of party buses before, but never one this big and awesome! I am so glad I went with the bus because there is no way we all would have fit in a Hummer limo anyways. The guys at Platinum really knew what they were talking about when they suggested it! Our driver was SO nice and took great care of us (even though I am sure we were very obnoxious!) The quality of the bus was gorgeous... super clean, awesome lighting, and they stocked it with champagne for us. My husband and I were extremely disappointed with Platinum Ride Limousine and would strongly discourage anyone from using them. Our contract stated we would receive a one hour, one way transportation from our venue to our resort. I was starving and had the driver of our Towncar go through the drive-thru of Jack in the Box, which is a four minute longer route, only to find out at the drive-thru window that there would "potentially" be an additional charge even though it was recommended by Joey DeVenuto to "take the long route". My husband immediately contacted Joey and was told that there would be an additional charge due to the additional stop. Letting cooler heads prevail, we stopped communication, only to find out that the charge was $150 . We did not feel this was warranted due to the fact that we never left the car, did not go past our one hour window, and would have appreciated the accommodations and understanding that this was our wedding night and this was the last thing with which we wanted to end our perfect evening. When conversation continued with Joey at the later date, my husband became frustrated and I decided to handle the situation with a level head. I spoke with Frank DeVenuto, co-owner of Platinum Rides, who became defensive of his brother and escalated the situation by stating that he has police officers who drive for him and private investigators who will find where we work if we "defamed" his business operations through any social media platform. He attacked my husband and my character and said he would take all measures necessary to prove that we were "ridiculous" and terrible customers. He turned business matters into a personal conflict. We tried to complete this business transaction multiple times throughout the conversation, however he felt it was necessary to continue his barrage of insults before finally accepting our payment information. It is a beautiful car with really cool lights and everything you need to make your ride comfortable. The best part about it was Tony the driver! We rented a bus for a concert, the bus was nice but smaller than we thought. The problem was with the driver, from the time he showed up he was hard to deal with. Everything seemed like it was an issue. His driving was very erratic causing drinks to slide off the counter, which we cleaned up. Although we booked the event and told them exactly where we needed to go, he got lost. He never bothered to get directions prior to the event causing us to arrive almost 40 minutes late. Thought we would share this to help others not make the same mistake. We booked a party bus for prom 2013 with Platinum Rides. We were quoted 45 days prior to prom a rate of $3,200 and were told book now because we will book everything we have and rates will continue to go up the closer it gets to prom. We were required to put down half ($1600) on the spot as we did not want to be left without a bus. We were told deposit was non-refundable. We booked and 1 week later all of our kids backed out due to the high cost of $100/kid. I immediately called Platinum and asked if they could keep our $1600 because we knew it was non-refundable and switch us to a limo versus a bus. They danced around the questions and said they will try to rent "my" bus before prom but never would address my request for a limo. It became very evident they had full intentions of keeping our deposit and not providing a solution. Again, we understand our deposit was non-refundable however as a business owner myself, I personally would have accommodated a client in order to keep them long term but Platinum chose not too. In the end, Platinum kept our deposit and we were not accommodated in any other way. The icing on the cake was calling 1 week before prom and they still had buses and limos for rent but now, party buses were only $2500, not $3200. The take away from our experience that we wish to pass along is: Do not under any circumstances put down a 50% deposit with Platinum Rides. Do not let them convince you that prices will go up and you must book now. Do not expect you will have any negotiating power if something goes wrong. Prices go up during prom so call as many companies as possible to compare. Do not make quick decisions, think about it first and compare. Make sure ALL passengers pay before you book a bus or limo. read more
