The new owners are rockstars. I was in and out in less than two hours and I had a long overdue fill on a structured gel Mani and a redo of my gel pedi. So that's honestly miraculous. They renovated the salon with new wall decor, light fixtures and signage. They have even MORE colors. This place always had more colors than anyone else but it's really impressive how many styles and colors they have. More new ones even since my last visit in November. Total cost for the structure gel mani and regular gel pedi was $105. This is a good deal; their prices are below surrounding areas. The salon is comfortable- they have nice massage chairs and they turn the AC on. It does not have the odor of chemicals or moth balls, like some salons do. During my apt, two men came in for pedicures, 5 women for various services, so I'd say it was busy for a Monday. Call and get an apt so you don't have to wait. Same day is fine too. Walk ins has to wait about 10-15 min, which isn't bad. I highly recommend this salon. I've been many places. The quality of color and their attention to detail is fantastic. I moved I to the area and tried several nail salons that I haven't been all over impressed with. It was either the massage was amazing but everything else wasnt good, or the paint job was fabulous but I was in and out in 15 minutes and he barely did anything else. Well I decided to try platinum nails because drive by it everyday and I thought "well it can't be any worse than the others" well I walked in very surprised to see the atmosphere inside. Very warm and inviting. I sat down and Tammy was giving me my pedicure. Usually I either close my eyes and enjoy the chair massage but I could help but watch how precise she was and very gentle. This has been my home nail salon since it opened over 5 yrs ago. Great services and all staff is friendly and accommodating! They do tend to over-extend themselves for walk-ins when they are already busy and are quick to say they can take you which means you may end up waiting a bit. I'd been going to Platinum nails for close to 3 years. I used to have a girl named Angel do my nails but I haven't seen her in forever. Lately the level of service hasn't been as good. The nail polish done doesn't stay, it's not the cleanest of lines and your legs are barely massaged. Today was it for me. I've never been told about making an appointment and I walk in today and was told that I won't be serviced because it's close to six (5:50 and they close at 7) and I didn't make an appointment. In all the time that I've gone, I've never been asked about an appointment. Nor told that I could make one. I'll be going back to Koi Nails from here out. read more

This place is DISGUSTING! My Daughter and I recently went to have a "girls day" and have our nails done. We both got two new employees. They had a VERY strange way of placing the acrylic and even laughed at us when we asked what they were doing. We both left scratching our heads. I got a full set and gel polish and my Daughter only had a manicure and gel polish. She was charged 35.00 and I was charged 30.00. We were both very unsatisfied. My Daughter even went back a few days later as her polish was pealing. They told her they would give her a discount the next time she came in. :( We will NEVER be back! EVER! Love this place. I've been getting my nails done FOREVER and have worked out in Lake Mary for almost 10 years so I've tried all the spots around town. The place isn't super fancy, but every technician there is SO NICE and accommodating. They know me by name and always make me feel so welcome. Their gel manicures last the longest of any I've tried, and they have a huge selection of regular nail polish colors - even fun neon colors. My favorite technician is Tom, but I also love Angel and Tammy. I've had others as well and they never disappoint. You never feel rushed. Can't say enough good things about this place. This Nail salon is amazing! Today I had a Tangerine Pedicure and it was a bliss... especially the Mimosa! The customer service is also extraordinary as they always accommodate your needs. Staff was very friendly and attentive! They offered us bottled water during our trip there. Prices were the norm. The only thing we found odd was that they do not take tip off a card, only cash. Usually have decent experience. Never anything to rave about. My natural nails are fairly long, so it's just an acrylic overlay. Well this time the overlay was applied so thin it just started chipping off within the first week. Also I inquired about SNS and was practically yelled at that "I need to pic color now". Umm sure but give me a chance to at least look them over. She repeatedly barked you need pick color now! Umm Nevermind I'll just use the polish I bought. I think she may have felt bad afterwards because she kept making small talk to late. Stop rushing me for a service I'M PAYING YOU TO DO. Especially one I'm not familiar with. I hate to write a bad review because my mother loves this place. I have been here several times accompanying my mother. On October 16th, I decided to take my litter sister. We both got a polish change. In addition, I got an eyebrow wax and pedicure. However, I am not happy with the service. The lady that did my eyebrows rushed through the waxing. She also popped and chewed gum in her mouth the entire time as she was leaning over my face. I'm kinda glad she rushed because it was so unprofessional and annoying! The gentleman that did my nails did not completely remove my hot pink nail polish prior to painting my nails with a nude color. You can see the old pink nail polish in the base of my nails still. Then for my pedicure, he rushed through and looked around as if he preferred if he was doing something else. After he finished, he got up walked to the hallway and texted on his cellphone until he disappeared and never returned. I finally just got up and went to pay. I told my mother about this visit and she uses the same woman each time she goes, therefore she has never endured my experience. However, it's really sad that not all of their employee put forth a professional effort. read more

I followed my tech there from another salon because he is awesome. However, I've been biting my tongue about how filthy the place is until today. There are layers of dust, dirt, and built up grime all over the place. I had a pedicure a couple of weeks ago and have now developed a fungus for the first time in 25 years of pedicures. Coincidentally, they just this week placed a display at the check out with nail fungus treatment for sale! Is that something that a nail salon really wants its customers to have to buy from them?! I mentioned my concerns, the fungus and overall lack of cleanliness, to the manager when I checked out and she didn't acknowledge the fungus issue at all and was incredulous that I suggested that the place needed to be cleaned. I told my tech that as much as I adore him, I would never recommend this salon and may have to find another unless they address the unsanitary conditions. read more
