But after that every follow-up email took longer and longer to get a response, and when I asked multiple times for an updated quote so I could move forward with a deposit and secure my date, I was completely ghosted. Unfortunately, it feels like he took my money and disappeared. That's unprofessional, disappointing, and frankly disrespectful. Weddings are stressful enough without vendors wasting time and hard-earned money. Proceed with caution before considering this business.

My sister planned a 99th birthday weekend for our dad, rental house, all family and catered meals by Essential Catering. Two staff members delivered the food and set it all up. First day, the potato salad had carrots and sweet peas with unpeeled potatoes. What southern caterer thought that was a great combination?!! Cheap brand of hot dogs and burgers, made a "picnic" attempt a disaster. Next day, birthday dinner was served, deli roast beef slices with carrots in a tasteless watery liquid. Baked not grilled chicken and a strawberry shortcake served with a gelatin based fruity mess. Someone didn't take much effort to prepare delicious or at best good food. When children don't eat it, you know there are problems! I know some may ask, why didn't we cook for ourselves? My sister wanted to avoid spending that time and just celebrate our Dad. Big. Big mistake. Essential Catering should spend more time in food prep than setting up -- looks good but bad tastes!

I decided to go with them expecting the same experience but this was not the case at the end. My husband, fiancé at the time, and I went to the testing, Jennifer took care of us and we expressed our menu was going to be pork-free and it was reflected in our options, chicken and steak. About a month before the wedding they changed the contact person as Jennifer left the company. This cause a great deal of stress in me due to the fact that when I spoke with Maria she seemed that she did not have a clue if what I was talking about, regarding all the menu and specifics, I had already discuss with Jennifer and changed completely the quote adding a good $800 extra to quote. Come wedding day, first, I had nice matching silverware and the team decided to put the metal silverware next to the silver wear. Here the common sense was not used. This clashed with the decor. I remember mentioning to put the silverware next to the food so if people wanted to use those instead of the ones in the table they had the choice. Secondly, the caesar salad had bacon on it and it was pre-made. Once again, I was very explicit about not wanting pork in the menu. Half of my family ended not been able to eat the salad and I found this so annoying as I paid almost $2,400 for the services. Third, the head server approach me at some point of the wedding to ask me about the services and I told her how I was feeling and told her 'not great'. To this day NOBODY from this company has reached out to me for feedback. Needless to say they won't have my business nor recommendation in the future. Lastly, keep in mind it has been almost a full year of my wedding and I still feel strongly about it all.

Their staff members, Ice (lead server) and Dunia (2nd server) were absolutely awesome! They showed up on time coming to Venice, Fl from Tampa during very heavy "Ian" recovery traffic. Not only did they impress us with arriving with ample time to set up before guests arrived, they were very personable, happy, enjoyable and extremely efficient in serving and clean up. The food by Affordable Catering was absolutely amazing. The 62+ guests we had were thrilled with the food and service. Everything tasted so delicious, in particular, the Maui Chicken was a HUGE success. We received nothing but raves about the food. Thank you "Affordable Catering" for making our first experience an excellent experience. Marie Bentancourt, my sales associate, was also key in making our event a success as well. She worked very hard at satisfying my needs. She was very conscious of my concerns and had perfect suggestions to satisfy my specific needs. Thank you once again Affordable Catering. They had 2 "grab & go" items, A $9 "snack" and a $15 "meal". Both looked good thru the packaging, however, they weren't grab & go as the clerk shared they make it fresh and it takes 20 minutes. Not able to wait, I left empty-handed and will hope to taste their charcuterie soon. I saw no photos of finished products while there. There are some on line. My "3" means my visit was okay in learning what's available. They may need more time to "gel", only being open 2 days (ribbon cutting is mid-July). I'll call ahead next time so a grab 'n go is ready to go. I do hope their charcuterie includes smaller sizes--for 2-4, during football season for example. A gem of a restaurant…read more I didn't realize this is an order and find a seat instead of a sit down restaurant with wait staff, but I definitely appreciate now that you order and find a table because this means service is fast. We came on a Saturday at about 1250, I am glad we came later because all the tables were taken but one got up while we were ordering our food so we were able to grab it. There is outside seating as well, but if it pours the tables make it wet, even though they are covered. I think on a non-rainy day there are enough tables, but on a rainy day it does get busy inside so I would recommend coming either earlier than noon or later than one. There is a ton of street parking around. One street down there was even free parking so we parked there. There are so many different types of pizza with really interesting ingredients. There was a Caesar salad pizza, which is the one that stuck out to me. We ended up getting just plain cheese pizza for the kids. I love how they have slices of pizza so you can try multiple flavors if you want. We got a meatball appetizer with breadsticks. My older son loved the meatballs, there is pork so I can't eat it. He ate two of the meatballs, and my husband ate two of the meatballs since our younger son didn't want to try it. My older and younger son split the breadstick and my younger son actually liked it more than the garlic knots, so we will definitely have to do this appetizer again. We also got each of them a slice of cheese, pizza, which they both ate enough of to make me realize that we did need to get two instead of one and split it between the two of them. We got a side of fries which my older son initially thought was OK, but then said he didn't like it that much. I think we can skip the fries in the future, but it really depends on whether the older son really wants the fries or not. And my husband got chicken marsala with garlic knots. The garlic knots are amazing. There are absolutely soaked in butter and garlic, so it is the least healthy thing for you on the planet, but it is so worth it. It comes with three garlic knots and we ate all of it. The chicken marsala was very good too. We got it with rigatoni and it is a huge plate so we split it. I didn't get food because I knew that nobody would finish the food that they got so I ended up eating off of everyone's plate. This was definitely the way to go, we did have some leftovers, but I think if we skipped the fries, we wouldn't have had food to take home. The people working here are all very friendly and the food was really quick. They bring the food out when it's ready. They also have a full bar which I thought is great if you want to make this longer meal. I love this place and prices were super reasonable. I will definitely come back.

The BBQ pizza and Meat Delight were both pretty good and I would order either again. The chicken Alfredo pizza, however, was my least favorite.
