I have had two experience in the past with this catering company. First one was back in 2019, they…read morewere hire by my apartment complex to prepare a Mother's Brunch for residents and their mother's. Second one was for my wedding. I decided to go with them expecting the same experience but this was not the case at the end. My husband, fiancé at the time, and I went to the testing, Jennifer took care of us and we expressed our menu was going to be pork-free and it was reflected in our options, chicken and steak. About a month before the wedding they changed the contact person as Jennifer left the company. This cause a great deal of stress in me due to the fact that when I spoke with Maria she seemed that she did not have a clue if what I was talking about, regarding all the menu and specifics, I had already discuss with Jennifer and changed completely the quote adding a good $800 extra to quote. Come wedding day, first, I had nice matching silverware and the team decided to put the metal silverware next to the silver wear. Here the common sense was not used. This clashed with the decor. I remember mentioning to put the silverware next to the food so if people wanted to use those instead of the ones in the table they had the choice. Secondly, the caesar salad had bacon on it and it was pre-made. Once again, I was very explicit about not wanting pork in the menu. Half of my family ended not been able to eat the salad and I found this so annoying as I paid almost $2,400 for the services. Third, the head server approach me at some point of the wedding to ask me about the services and I told her how I was feeling and told her 'not great'. To this day NOBODY from this company has reached out to me for feedback. Needless to say they won't have my business nor recommendation in the future. Lastly, keep in mind it has been almost a full year of my wedding and I still feel strongly about it all.

Their staff members, Ice (lead server) and Dunia (2nd server) were absolutely awesome! They showed up on time coming to Venice, Fl from Tampa during very heavy "Ian" recovery traffic. Not only did they impress us with arriving with ample time to set up before guests arrived, they were very personable, happy, enjoyable and extremely efficient in serving and clean up. The food by Affordable Catering was absolutely amazing. The 62+ guests we had were thrilled with the food and service. Everything tasted so delicious, in particular, the Maui Chicken was a HUGE success. We received nothing but raves about the food. Unfortunately, it feels like he took my money and disappeared. That's unprofessional, disappointing, and frankly disrespectful. Weddings are stressful enough without vendors wasting time and hard-earned money. Proceed with caution before considering this business.

Savory Roots checked all the boxes for us. They offer food and bar at a reasonable price, and with competitive pricing it seemed to others in the general area. Before fully committing to them, they offered group tastings and gave us a rough estimate of what everything we desired would cost. After the group tasting we were able to better fine tooth what we wanted on our special day by having a private tasting. The way they have both of these tastings set up is very organized, and the private tasting is just you and who you invite. The cost to do the tastings is well worth it even if you weren't looking to find a caterer! (Lol) Throughout the months leading to our wedding, various members of SR kept in touch with us via email/their website board. The constant communication we had with them was what mattered the most to us. Not all of our vendors had great communication, so it was nice SR, our largest expense, kept in touch. They made everything less stressful for us and it was just great. Day of the wedding everything went flawlessly. Other than the excitement of getting married, I only had 2 worries. I worried about it raining (ceremony ended just moments before the skies opened up), and everyone enjoying the food and drink. The service staff were excellent, while we (bride and groom) and wedding party took pictures, they were bringing us appetizers and ensuring we were taking care of while our guests enjoyed everything elsewhere during cocktail hour.
