This was the shockingly worst service I have ever experienced. I contacted PlasmaPro Installations on 12/28/12 to have a flat-screen TV mounted during January. They wanted to schedule me before giving any sort of estimate. The other two companies I worked with both came out and gave professional estimates in advance. This 2-person show of Plasma Pro (Manny and Vanessa) refused to give a written estimate but promised it would be $200 for everything I wanted done. I spoke with Manny several times on the phone to confirm the things he was planning to do. I told him I could only afford to have the TV mounted for now, but that I would do the AV component stand later in the year. Instead, he spent time convincing me that I should have him install my AV shelves and all of my components now. I hadn't even purchased all of the components yet, but with his smooth-talking, I was conned into spending plenty of my time and money finding and purchasing a receiver, 3-tier mount, and blu-ray player in time for his installation. I paid a premium on the receiver and had to actually pick it up myself from FedEx at 8 a.m. to make sure it was here when Manny arrived for on installation day at 9 a.m. After spending all of this time, energy, and thousands of dollars, I waited for Manny to arrive. 9 am. 9:30 am. I called PlasmaPro (aka Vanessa) and she said he's running late. 10 am. 10:30 am. I called again (note, PlasmaPro NEVER called me to explain why they weren't on time). Vanessa tells me, "Oh, when we say 9 a.m. we mean anywhere between 9 and 10 a.m. or so." 11 am. 11:30 am. I called Vanessa AGAIN. Here's the best part! She now tells me, "I just got a call from the hospital! Manny has been in a terrible car accident and I'm going to be with him now!" 10 minutes later, a good friend of mine contacts PlasmaPro for a TV mount appointment. Vanessa cheerfully responds that they can come out the next day. What a couple of disgusting frauds! The bad news for me is that Manny talked me into spending thousands of dollars on equipment and installation materials that I cannot return, including a receiver that decreased in price by over $100 since the time that he pressured me into purchasing one. None of the other installers are planning to use the convoluted approach Manny had, so they don't need all of the materials Manny told me to purchase. I wasted a lot of time and money I do not have working with this fraudulent, unprofessional company. Also, thanks to his failure to show up or give me notice, I was unable to get any of my living room electronics mounted before my out of town company arrived the following weekend. The bad news for Manny is that I am on the HOA Board at my property development, and I have been tasked with finding a local installer to mount 17 flat-screen televisions and countless pieces of AV equipment into the properties' clubhouses and fitness centers. He has no idea how much business he just lost. My next task is to report PlasmaPro to the BBB, where they already have several complaints, including the fact that Manny is not a licensed electrician and is performing electrical work illegally. Good luck in your search for a TV mounter. If you were planning to work with this goon, keep in mind you may be left waiting while he skips your appointment to do something else, like start an electrical fire in another home. read more
