We had a negative experience when we shopped at the Little River location recently. We decided we weren't ever going back there again. In speaking to friends, we decided to try the 544 store, which we did today. We had the pleasure of speaking with Denis, who could not have been more helpful and personable. It's totally a different experience. We found something we liked very much, made the purchase, chatted for a bit, and got some great and helpful information as to why the prior planted item failed. BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU PURCHASE BECAUSE THEY DONT STAND BEHIND THEIR PLANTS!! I made a purchase of 5 plants for shade side of house. I was advised to purchase something nicknamed tractor seats and 3 hydrangeas. I planted 2 days ago and the tractor seats both look very bad and being eaten. I called and was accused of over watering which was not the case. Mary solution was to teat for bugs and that was it. I wanted to return the plants and was told not an option. customer service is not Mary's strong point obviously! I then spoke to Theresa and she finally decided she would like to try and make it right? I will go with the bad plants tomorrow and see what we can do read more

First let me say that initially we were very excited to work with Randy and his staff at Plants Direct. We had a good plan and although it was modified a couple of times the final design was exactly what we wanted. This is where it began to decline. The landscaper that was subcontracted to install the plants stated he was not aware that he would be moving our current plants OR that our neighbors were having their work done on the same day. For a job of this size he had only brought two other workers with him. His attitude changed immediately and not for the better. He was surly and non-communicative for the remainder of the day. The outcome: He cut TWO of our inground sprinkler lines, plants that we contracted to replant weren't! He just placed them on top of the dirt then covered them with mulch!! Two died; and I personally had to replant the remainder. The drip lines were not rewrapped around the plants. Fast forward several weeks later I have multiple plants dying. I have contacted the office numerous times and informed them and was told to send them pictures. I was hoping that this matter would be rectified. It's been a week since my most recent correspondence and I have heard nothing from Plants Direct. Apparently after spending almost $9,000 I have come to the conclusion that they do not care!! I'm left with expenses for hundreds of dollars to repair the cut irrigation lines, a huge water bill from the leaking lines and now the cost of replacing these plants that are dead and dying. My advice to anyone considering using Plants Direct - look elsewhere. Their subcontractor is rude, incompetent and obviously unprofessional. I'm also assuming they do not warranty the plants they sell for that kind of money. read more

Worked with Teresa which was excellent! We wanted a custom Henri Studio fountain and she provided all the documents we needed to get HOA approval. Teresa contacted the company to determine timeframe and the fountain actually came in earlier than expected! The install guys were friendly and professional and knew the plan for install to insure it met the HOA guidelines. They did an awesome job and I would definitely recommend Plants Direct- their follow through was terrific! read more

My neighbor and I went to Plants Direct near Myrtle Beach to update our landscaping. They have the BEST plants between Holden Beach and Myrtle Beach (we looked at multiple nurseries). Plants fill up their containers- instead of small plants in big buckets. Great selection of shrubs and trees. Staff was very helpful in selecting and loading car. Found everything we needed in 1 location. We spent most of the day checking out various nurseries and ended up getting everything at Plants Direct. Next time - going straight to Plants Direct and then lunch. BTW - best yard art selection ever. Be sure to check it out after you decide on your plants. read more

I posted a negative review of Plants Direct but I am happy to report that the issue was with my landscaper charging me incorrectly and Plants Direct was able to help me resolve it. I mistakenly thought Plants Direct was at fault but the landscaper was actually incorrect. James and Randy responded to the issue professionally and in a timely manner. Do not recommend!!! They sell and install dead trees that die within 6 weeks. Please do your homework before purchasing from Plants Direct.

Last year we had a landscape plan done by Eddie at plants direct, they installed all the plants we paid 8000$ for plants and installation. A spiral atlas cedar 300$ was planted without loosening the root ball and died 3 months later. We didn't know how compacted it was till we dug it up. We contacted them and Eddie and no one would reply to us. Buy from Lowe's where if it dies in a year you can take it back. The nursery has no warranty even if they install it. With all we paid you would think they would at least replace it. Don't buy from a nursery once they get your money they don't want to have anything to do with you read more

We've purchased 2 fountains, plants, planters and fun garden decor here and love this store! Their pricing is great, their sales people are very knowledgeable and super helpful. We had an issue with the pump on our first fountain (it died after a couple weeks!) and they happily replaced it, no questions asked. I look forward to going back soon, as they're always getting in new, fun stuff. read more

Warning! Get everything in writing. Make sure its in detail. We had a plan with a drawing ,but when the job was done it did not look like what was expected or Eddie (Job Supervisor) described how it would be done. We had been shown pictures of what was desired. The job was also left unfinished on the sides of the pavers. The pavers were not level or into the ground like it is suppose to be. They broke a sprinkler line during the project and it took almost 8 weeks before they came back and fixed it. Plants direct will tell you should have known what it was going to look like when they "completed the project". I thought they were the experts. When all said and done they first offered to fix sides for a additional $3000.00. I said I did not have that kind of money after spending $5000.00+ for the project initially. They then offered to put dirt and sod for additional $700 dollars. I got a bid from another landscaper for dirt and sod. $100 dollars and I paid them instead. You can see the concrete /cement place around the pavers is breaking/cracking. The job was not supervised and was done in a rush. I could write more but it makes me ill seeing how poor the work looked upon completion. Also, their costumer service is terrible ! read more

I shop here all the time. Prices are very reasonable. There's a huge selection of various plants, trees and flowers. They have landscaping rock/ stone. They also have beautiful ceramic pottery and a selection of garden decor. Staff has always been extremely helpful and kind. They'll load the plants and heavy items. I've never had any issues. I bought some plants 3 weeks ago, they were sent via Express Post to the person who is building an enclosure for me. The item hasn't arrived yet and an enquire was lodged with Australia Post. Australia Post hasn't replied to that enquire yet and I can't keep waiting so I contacted Plants Direct Nursery via the chat again (they don't pick up the phone) to ask them please to call Australia Post because if I don't get the item, I need to be refunded. They asked me to keep waiting and they closed the chat. I was shut down basically. I called Australia Post and they told me that because I am the buyer but not the sender or the receiver, Plants Direct Nursery needs to contact them and it can be done via the phone. All I'm asking is for a phone call to sort this issue, I messaged Plants Direct Nursery again and I am being ignored this time. I wouldn't recommend it and I won't buy from them again after this terrible experience. read more

We ordered stone from here, and paid to have it installed. Well the stone was supposed to be 3-5 inches, it also should have been cleaned. Well the guys that we're installing it were shaking their heads, because a lot of the stones were stained with some kind of orange color. But worse yet, there was pebbles and sand, just a lot of junk. My husband called and told them that this stone wasn't what we had ordered. The owner comes to our , my husband and I were sitting on the porch The owner didn't even acknowledge us, walk over to the installers and told them to water the stone so that the pebbles and sand would wash down. Well we put weed stop down , the crap wasn't going anywhere! The owner didn't ever say let me take a few hundred dollars off the price. He gave some lame excuse about a different quarry. Needless to say, my husband and I sifted through 9 yards of stone to get the pebbles and sand out, it took days. We took 6 wheel barrels full of crap out of the stone that was supposed to be 3-5 inches. My husband will probably need to have surgery on his shoulder because of re installing the stone that we had paid to get installed because of the garbage that they sold us. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! Sadly the plants that we bought there were nice, and we spent a lot of money on plants and decorations for our house. So we decided to get the stone there, neighbors up the street had gotten their stone from them. I am so upset that my husband will be getting surgery on his shoulder because of this incident.
