They easily have the largest bamboo selection in the bay area. It definitely takes some time to find the perfect bamboo to meet your needs. Fortunately, Bob or Carol will guide you through the 'jungle'. Prices are based on the contents of each pot which leaves room for negotiation. On my last visit I bought a 'black' bamboo and a giant timber oldhami. Prices were very reasonable. Every visit always brings a wealth of priceless knowledge. Bob and Carol are willing to spend the whole day with you to cater to your needs and answer every question until you are satisfied. The place is only accessible by appointment, however, Bob and Carol make them selves available.

We visited Cloverfield Farm this past weekend before visiting my uncle in Hercules. My husband, two…read morekids, and I arrived early afternoon and were immediately greeted by Magic Ben, their beautiful horse resident, in the parking area. When we let the staff at the check-in table know that it was our first visit, she gave us a quick overview of the lay of the land, how pricing worked, and offered us some shears and baskets. She also let us know that the fruit orchard was mostly picked over, which made sense since we were visiting later in the day. Luckily for me, I could already see from the parking lot that the one thing I was really interested in was still available for harvesting--sunflowers! As we headed for the blooms, we passed tomatoes, corn, chard, and cucumbers. After collecting some sunflowers and cucumbers, we headed over to explore the spice shed (where we tasted some yummy honey!), the fruit orchard (where we picked a few limes), and the side patch (where we posed for some cute photos with their pumpkins). We just had the cucumber today with our dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised to notice the abundance of seeds and the stronger flavor of the organic produce. Although we live in San Francisco, we would definitely love to visit again and highly recommend this experience to others. Just know that they only have a limited offering of any one type of fruit/veggie, but if you go with an open-mind, you're sure to find something and leave happy.

When we got there we learnt apple picking was not happening anymore but they have a huge property with alot of vegetables, a walking and tasting tour and a horse!!! First we met Ben, the magical horse who made our day! We got to brush his hair , feed him and just hang out with him. What a unique experience! Note- They host birthday parties there so the horse can play with the kids. Next we met the main farmer who took us on a walking tour of everything they grow. We tried the most unique flowers, herbs, leaves, etc. most memorable were the chocolate mint, fennel, quinine, edible flowers that taste like cucumber. We tasted alot more including their honey which was great! The farmer was funny, engaging and so knowledgeable too! They sell plants and dried herbs and honey along with veggies and other things. We bought a few things and some plants and had a great chat with the kind farm owner. She is just amazing and knew everything about everything on the farm! Highly recommend! I was thrilled to see a lot of the things that I needed was in store so I had to figure out what was priority on my shopping list since some of the reagents were originally pricey. The gentlemen that helped me didn't say much but was able to suggest a few options that were similar to what I needed but I politely declined and got the items that was within my daily budget. One thing that I was worried about was getting persuaded into purchasing something that was way overpriced and something that I didn't need but I never felt that here. The service was straight forward and I was in and out within fifteen minutes. The prices here are relatively similar to what you could find online so It's great to know that your monies will be going to a local shop rather than big competitors.

Two hours before our scheduled pickup, I received a call informing me that lily of the valley was unavailable. While I was disappointed, I understood that flower availability can sometimes be unpredictable and was willing to work with a substitute. However, when I arrived to pick up my bouquet, I discovered that not only was lily of the valley missing, but there were no peonies either. Instead, the bouquet contained flowers and yellow tones that were completely different from the all-white design we had discussed and approved. At no point was I informed that peonies would not be included, nor was I contacted to review or approve a revised design. Because this occurred the day before my wedding and only hours before pickup, I had no realistic opportunity to make alternative arrangements in advance. We felt pressured to accept the bouquet we were given because of the timing. Ultimately, I was so unhappy with the final product that I purchased a replacement bouquet. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process. Had I been notified earlier that the requested flowers could not be sourced, we could have discussed alternatives and approved a new design together. Instead, significant changes were made without our knowledge or consent. After returning from our honeymoon, I reached out to discuss the issue and request a refund. My message went unanswered. When my husband later spoke with her, our concerns were dismissed, and we were told that the flowers used were an "upgrade." Whether the replacement flowers were more expensive is beside the point--the bouquet delivered was not the bouquet we ordered or approved. We paid our invoice in full and even tipped before receiving the bouquet because we trusted that our wedding flowers would reflect what we had discussed. Unfortunately, the final product did not meet our expectations, and the lack of accountability afterward was equally disappointing. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this florist.
