We had a multi-stage job involving patio concrete, dog run area and then after a pool was installed he returned to complete full landscaping and irritation for both our front and back yard. I'm notoriously hard to earn "5 star" reviews on, because I always think there are ways people can improve, and I also think the way the internet reviews work - it often feels like you're obligated to give 5 stars... this is NOT the case here. Kevin and his team earned every bit of these 5 stars, and I'd wholeheartedly refer him to anyone who needed work done. I'll lead off by saying I first met Kevin when we had him out to bid some repair work a previous contract ruined at our home. Unfortunately at the time Kevin had several high priority jobs and wasn't able to help - but his customer service really caught my attention and I filed his contact information away. 2 years later when we moved, he was the first person I called and I'm so glad I did. He remembered who I was, prioritized getting together again to bid the work, and got after it. If you want someone whos going to truly partner with you, and help you figure out the best way to create your "area" - Kevin is that guy. He's got a great balance of function and art in the way he approaches building his projects. The biggest struggle we had with previous landscaping bids was that there are a lot of people who will do the work - but not a lot that will help you figure out the "design" aspects. Kevin was INCREDIBLE in this regard. He was constantly patient, helped us weigh our decisions, gave us practical feedback on ideas, offered tweaks - but also took direction when there was specific things we wanted. The end result is feeling like our backyard is beautiful and unique, but also very functional for our family. I have so much pride in our backyard, and theres this corny feeling that I know i'll always think fondly of Kevin and his team because as my kids grow up (8 and 6) they'll keep enjoying the space we created for them in the backyard. Functionally - Kevin brought a lot of diversity into our backyard. Hard rock intelligently used to separate the pool area from the softer landscape areas. Specific bark used for longevity. Trees selected with specific goals of creating privacy. Plants placed for balancing in the area. All of this on top of managing irritation effectively. It was a large project - and nothing felt "overdone". It came out just feeling... perfect. Work wise - his crew was extremely polite and kind. They worked quickly each time. Each one of our project sections was roughly 5 days, which is incredible given the amount of work they were accomplishing each time. They checked in often, kept in contact, cleaned up after themselves - and I always trusted that they were going to get the job done. The final thing I'll say is that its hard to find people who you feel like care about every job they work on. Kevin is the definition of that kind of person. The good: Punctual Finished before deadline Nice concrete work The bad: Quoted one price, made promises about what we'd get, John sprung additional "over budget" costs at the end, despite the fact we discussed these items when we got our initial bid. Sneaky. Damaged my stucco in several areas; had to keep calling for them to repair. Repair is not even complete. Never heard from them again. Plants are spaced wonky ..... for example 2 flower bushes are close together and the third is another foot away, looks silly. Shade tree placed in yard is not centered on the hole that was dug, so the border looks crooked. drives me crazy!! Gate does not match fencing and it looks like crap. No really, it looks bad. Why have a non matching gate?! The gate is dog ear fencing and the rest of the fence is wire with framing. Space under gate was filled with random extra bricks instead of a kick board. Again, looks bad and lazy. They quoted us for 24x24 stepping stones only to get cheap ugly 12x12 stones. Also, at least 6 of our plants have died in the year since they landscaped. BOO!

I hired Eduardo from EA Landscaping to replace my clogged landscape drainage, install a cement…read morepatio, and general landscaping. Eduardo is a licensed contractor #1149955, but I do not recommend him at all. We signed a contract, in which he said he would do detailed work. I got anything but that. He and his workers continually cut corners and did shoddy work. On the first day he cut two medium sized trees, including roots, and removed a cement walkway. He put the trash and debris on the street and just left it there overnight. No consideration for me or my neighbors. I had to insist that he remove the trash and debris from the street. The next day he removed the dirt and cement but not the tree debris. The next day he removed the tree trunks and debris after he saw me and my neighbors unhappy. On the third day, Eduardo and his crew showed up at 0530 hrs to pour the cement. I told him I didn't believe it was a good idea, but he said he would get approval from the neighbors; which of course he didn't. My neighbors were very upset with Eduardo and me. One of my neighbors came out to speak with him and even called the sheriff. Once again, no consideration for his client or neighbors. The whole purpose of the my project was to replace the landscape drainage. Eduardo replaced some but wanted to use some of the old drainage, which I knew was clogged. I insisted that he not use the old drainage and replace all drainage. Eduardo was not happy and things got worse. Eduardo continued to cut corners and refused to purchase simple material, such as drainage inlets, inlet covers, or drippers. In one of my 6 inch inlets, he refused to put a new one in and just cut a hole in the current one to run the new pipe. Very unacceptable. Eduardo also left two of my 6 inch inlets about 2-3 inches above ground, which as you can imagine; this will not help with flooding and renders these inlets useless. I will have to pay someone else to fix this issue. Eduardo did a shoddy job on my drip system. He refused to use the proper material for the drippers. He just put dripper nozzles to the main line and on the snake lines he did use; he did not put nozzles on them. Amazes me this type of contractor is allowed to have a license. Eduardo put several drain inlets and had them covers with pieces of pipe. He said he would come the next day to put the covers on and finish the job, that was two weeks ago, and he has not returned. I have filed a complaint with the contractor license board and BBB. I just want the community to be ware of this contractor and his unethical work ethic.
