We scheduled a tasting with them at our apartment's club house and I was immediately impressed by how much thought they put into something so simple. We showed up at the scheduled time and they had laid out place mats, flowers, plates and silverware. They even brought us water to cleanse our palate between different foods. There were only two of us but they brought so much food for us to taste (and let us keep the leftovers) that we had enough for lunch for two days after our tasting! Their food was absolutely AMAZING! My personal favorite was the baked beans but everything they have ever made for us has been out of this world good. After tasting their food and comparing it to a few others, there was no doubt they were the clear winner. Every guest at our rehearsal dinner RAVED about how good the food was. Even some of our guests from NJ were asking how they could get it sent back home. I'm fairly certain their food actually out shined the food we served at our wedding. James is an incredibly talented chef and can cook you an amazing dish no matter if you want BBQ, Greek, Italian or some other cuisine. He catered my company's Thanksgiving feast and everyone raved about the fried turkeys he made (Cajun, Garlic Butter and Jalapeno). The smoked ham was a stand out as well! His wife, Terry, runs the business side and she's an absolute pleasure to work with as well. If ever there are two people you wish to see succeed, it's them. Don't let the name fool you, Hard Smoke BBQ can handle your catering needs for any event at a reasonable price!

I know I give out some good reviews, considering I seek out highly rated establishments. But 5…read morestars for a food truck is kind of a big deal to me. I generally think food trucks are a novelty, and they're overpriced with crappy bang-for-buck. Usually. Triple G knocked my socks off. And I stumbled onto them (almost literally) when they visited Witherspoon Distillery. No reviews or seeking out a highly rated whatever. Just dumb luck. When I think BBQ, I think pretty unhealthy - even if I'm a fan. Something that's extra awesome about this truck is the food is NOT heavy or super unhealthy. The BBQ chicken was SOOOOOOO good. Oh MAN, it was perfect. Wonderful seasoning. Fairly large white meat breast. Great seasoning. Hit the spot. The thinly sliced sausage wrap thing (I forget the name) wasn't greasy and it was delicious. The BBQ baked beans were awesome. They were greatness. The corn mix was delicious. Everything was on point, including the service and wait time. No brisket on our visit, which is my normal BBQ go-to, but I didn't miss it at all. Everything was so good - and surprisingly healthy. Need more convincing? You're contributing to a good cause. When there's a disaster, Triple G shows up and serves free food to disaster victims. Straight up. How freakin awesome is that?!? There's even a 501(c)3 label on the truck. And yet, somehow, it's one of the most affordable food trucks I've ever eaten at, especially for bang-for-buck. Both of our meals were less than $10, and it was plenty of food. One meat (sizable serving) and two sides (which were plenty). Less than $20 total before tip, this was a steal for the quality and quantity of food. This outfit is awesome. HIGHLY recommended!

This review is in reference to their mobile food truck. On this day they were kind enough to give…read morediscounts to our HOA event in Highland Village. We ordered the two-meat plate and chose brisket/ pork combination plate (about $14). That comes with two sides which we chose as green chile macaroni, and corn. We also ordered the brisket and pork tacos ($4) each. There were about three orders ahead of us but I think it only took about 10 mins or less to get our food. So service time pretty good in my opinion. As far as the tacos go, they are served with one tortilla and it's fairly decent size and for sure stuffed with both flavor, some toppings and well seasoned. Also a flavorful sauce on both. The brisket taco was out of this world, but for me that's also because it had a nice brisket fat content to it which I personally feel is where all the flavor is hidden. The pulled pork taco, however, was great on a taste level but just a tad bit dry. As for the combo plate the meats pretty much played out the same way as you can imagine. Can't say enough about the brisket and the bark and the flavor and so on and so on. To reiterate the pork was just a tad bit dry but very tasty to eat, but again I've already taken that into account for the score. As for the green chile macaroni, I have to rate it as pretty darn good. The reason? My wife and I were splitting the plate, but somehow the green chile macaroni never made it to me because she wolfed it down. So by that rationale it must be good if she didn't even want to share! The corn also a very great mix of flavors, the style perhaps akin to helotes with the mayonnaise and butter highly seasoned. Highly in this case meaning very flavorful with a pretty decent kick to it. Too much kick for my 10 year old but I couldn't put it down. So over all about $22 normal cost, but I think with the event discount it was like $13 and $15 with tip at the credit card machine. I believe these folks are connected to seven loaves bread and if that's the case then disclosure they have done a lot of catering for my church, so they are good people. But I still couldn't pull the five star out because of the slightly dry pork. But you know that happens from time to time for barbecue so I'd definitely recommend this place even at full price. It's a little more sophisticated than your normal barbecue and sides and I really appreciate how well it works.
