Don't expect to be taken seriously or with care here and expect a to wait multiple hours past your appointment time. I've been coming here for years and have the same experience every time. Honestly surprised I haven't written this earlier. Appointment was at 2:10 pm. I check in on time. 5 other woman check in after me for later times. I heard what time their appointments were because I was sitting really close. Their check in times were 2:20, 2:30, 2:40, 3, 3:10. All 5 were brought to the back before me. I waited patiently for 45 minutes before asking how much longer. I'm use to waiting this long but never where I see so many woman come in after me for later times and get brought in before me. I asked the receptionist, she said I was next......2 more women are brought to the back before me........then I'm FINALLY called. I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes............. I have been to the Salinas location twice. They are super quick and the staff is way nicer. Making the trip to Salinas will definitely still be faster than spending over an hour and a half at planned parenthood in Seaside. read more

Never again..... I had an appointment at 11 they didn't call me back till 12:40 .... at around 12:20 I asked if they were going to call me anytime soon . The girl said "unfortunately our doctor is double booked in every appointment today" ... I understand that you guys have Hight demand but why would you ever double book yourself ? That's not ok. Just say you don't have appointments ? 1.you have patients waiting for an unreasonably amount of time 2. Arrived there at 1:30pm for my 1:50 appointment only to be told they have to cancel my appointment because the nurse had to leave the building. This is already the third time they reschedule my appointment. I'd appreciate a warning so I don't have to waste my time and drive down there for the third time only to be sent home again. That nurse left without thinking of the patients she has to see? And the staff didn't have the courtesy to call us to let us know that our appointment is NOT happening! I wanted to be able to leave a good review for these guys, I really did. I first went in on a Tuesday evening after work (on Monday and Tuesdays they are open past 5pm, yay!). Turns out their computer system had failed earlier in the day and they were running very behind. I kindly volunteered to come back the following week since my appointment wasn't an emergency. They were very helpful and rescheduled me for the following Tuesday evening. They even provided me with the necessary first-time patient paperwork to fill out at home in order to expedite my next appointment. Fast forward one week, I arrive to find the lobby just as crowded as it had been the week before (no failed computer system this time). There were 5 kids under the age of 3 running around the lobby. It was rather annoying. I understand that childcare is expensive, but in most cases BOTH parents were waiting in the lobby -- couldn't one of them have taken the kid elsewhere? The boys were especially rowdy, throwing racecars down the stairway and everything. *sigh* My name is finally called, exactly 30 mins after my scheduled appointment time. I am taken to an appointment room where I sit and wait some MORE for the physician to arrive. She speaks with me for approximately 3 minutes, writes me a prescription, and disappears. Then I get charged for 4 months of birth control before anyone even hints at how much it's going to cost. I realize my insurance doesn't cover this stuff, but $260? REALLY? What happened to the sliding scale? I realize I'm not a piss poor student anymore, but holy wow. Next time at least give me a CLUE before I hand over my credit card. read more

It's easy to see why Planned Parenthood would be a stressful environment for both employees and guests. But you would think that the employees would put more of an effort to be more compassionate and kind to their guests. I understand that the nonprofit world has its ups and downs but that doesn't excuse common courtesy and manners. Both times I have been to this branch, the wait is ridiculous and the people at the front window are rude. I show up early to my appointments knowing they're going to make me fill out paper work but it doesn't matter - I still end up waiting a minimum of 45 minutes to be seen. On top of that, the ladies at the front window like to talk to me as if I'm stupid which makes the experience all the more fun. Parking is also not great. Finding quality, free of judgement care is hard to find. I am so grateful for all the staff doing their best to make me feel comfortable, safe and heard. I've been to the Seaside location a few times to pIck up birth control and/or get tested. Every single time I would go there, each one of the ladies is SO RUDE! I would dread going here. Even dread calling them over the phone. It's so sad that they cannot be more understanding of young teen girls trying to be safe and private. Recently, I went to the Watsonville location and had a completely different experience. The ladies there are beyond genuine and nice. (special shout out to Shirley and Sarah for being the sweetest and most sincere ladies I have ever met in healthcare) I will FOREVER drive one hour away and inconvenience myself to go to Watsonville just so I never have to deal with the inconsiderate, rude, and snobby ladies in Seaside. Everyone here is super rude. I walked in because I had made an appointment at 11:20 I even got a text saying it was at that time. Come to find out that the appointment was at 10:10 and when she told me about it, the girl at the front was super rude as if it was fault. I was told one time and the appointment was at a different time, not my fault. Like why are you working here if you don't want to? Faced with an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy, I knew immediately what I wanted to do. I was able to get an appointment with PP for the following week. I was nervous about the procedure but completely resolute. The doctor went over all my options, asked what I wanted to do, and then respected my decision when I told her I knew I wanted an abortion. Since I was early enough in the pregnancy, I decided to have a medical abortion so I could be at home. The doctor went over what to expect, gave me my first medication, and then discharged me with the second medication, instructions, and contact information in case I had questions. It's an awkward experience (even though it shouldn't be- it's a medical procedure like any other), but I actually felt very comfortable the whole time. The staff was professional and friendly. I was able to have my abortion in the comfort of my own home with my partner there to support me. The cramping was pretty bad, but overall it went smoothly. Now whenever I think back to my experience at Planned Parenthood, I am amazed by how my life has turned out because I was able to make a choice. I am ever thankful to the professionals at PP who gave me medical care in my time of need and desperation. read more

My experience with this clinic was absolutely wonderful. The nurses were kind, they helped me get set up quickly. It was my first time visiting a planned parenthood to get birth control, and I got the implant. The doctor was calm and efficient, and she answered all my questions which definitely eased my mind. I've had some terrible doctors in the past, so I was glad to have someone knowledgeable for a change! I was so nervous going in but they were so professional and calm that I'll have no qualms about returning if I need any other help. read more

Not too long ago me and my friend got tested for STI's and they said they would call us to let us know if we were positive. They never called, and my friend went to her usual clinic in Gilroy to test again and she was positive. This was all within a week. I think this was very unprofessional of them and it makes me wonder how many other girls have gone untreated. read more

Had an appt for 2:50, wasn't called until 3:30, wasn't seen until 4:30. Don't come here if you have a schedule to keep, it's unfortunate that this location isn't run properly. The patient in front of me had been waiting for over an hour and said they had to go to work, receptionist was not understanding and told her to call next week. When people take time out of their work day or otherwise to have an important appointment, the care facility should make it a point to have adequate staffing. I thought it was weird that appointments are not booked in house. You have to call the phone # to get your appointment. I walked in thinking I could get a refill on a prescription, no, I had to call the phone # to book an appointment. It feels a little nuts not to be able to book an appt. with a lady at the front desk. I just went to Planned Parenthood Seaside today for an IUD. I just wanted to say that the nurses and doctors there were the kindest medical professionals I have ever had the good fortune to be treated by. My uterus did not fare as well as most and I experienced severe pain, which triggered nausea and a cold sweat. The nurses brought me apple juice to raise my blood pressure, a heated blanket to warm away the cramps, and one nurse sat with me and rubbed my arm while I retched. I recently went to this Planned Parenthood for a routine check up. The waiting area is okay and the front desk staff were nice and organized. My experience with the doctor left me feeling vulnerable and with questions. I was told that I needed some further testing and that there may be some areas of concern. I was worried and the doctor did not provide me with an opportunity to ask questions. When I asked the other support staff or nurse, I'm not sure her job title, about some questions she referenced me to the piece of paper I was given. I felt shut down and as though my questions were not important. Overall, I left the office feeling as though I was given concerning news without any empathy or information on what to do further. I hope that in the future the doctors provide more consultation time with their patients when concerning things come up. I support Planned Parenthood facilities and believe they are very important. The providers, especially women providers, should be more empathic and attuned to how to support other women. read more

What a nightmare, never will i go again when I have insurance. Made an appointment. Came in early because it was my first time. I had to wait more than an hour before going to the back. Then I went to the back to even wait more time. The medical assistant wasn't professional. My arm was hurting, red and had marks from the cuff after she took it off, because it was pumping for the fourth time. My bp was high when she took it manually, but it is normally low. When the doctor finally came in. She was a PA and not a doctor. Not what i was expecting. I just wanted to get this over with and go home, because I was here for over two hours way to long and was very upset from the whole office visit. read more

I attended an appointment at this office today, because there was an undue wait time at my regular ob/gyn's office to schedule routine screening and care. I hadn't been to a Planned Parenthood since my twenties. I experienced very little wait time--in fact they called me and asked if I could come in earlier than expected as an earlier appointment opened up. I was nervous--without reason, but routine screenings always make me paranoid. From the office staff, to nurse, to Doctor, I received kind, compassionate, professional, quality care that was not judgmental but maintained a high standard of care. I was in and out of the office in 30 minutes, but did not feel rushed by the doctor, who surely heard my concerns and took her time. I went into Planned Parenthood at Seaside to get the Essure procedure which is a new permenate birth control. WOOHOO.. Since I dont want anymore children. I had been to them before for other services they offer and when I asked what birth control they offered they told me: pills, ring, patch, plan b, condoms, IUC and the one that goes in your arm I forgot the name but once they mentioned their new service i wanted it done. I qualified for the green card so all my services where covered which I founded to be a blessing since I dont have any insurance and cant afford a procedure like the one I had. They only asked for a donation at the end of the visit. All the staff was very helpful and informative and the doctor was beyond amazing. The procedure went smoother than I imagine! I defi recommend this clinic to other people who have the need for reproductive care been for man or woman. read more

I wish I could give more stars because I feel the compassion from the staff that took my history was phenomenal. When the PA came in she discussed the reasons for my visit she made it seem like an exam and birth control would be fine services for the day. However, the PA that did my exam noted a polyp. I know of fibroids but hadn't heard of polyps and I immediately was terrified. After the exam I broke down in tears to which her response was running out the door to run labs. Then the phenomenal staff members came back in and told me that I would go home with an antibiotic. They also attempted to schedule me to have the polyp looked at by the actual doctor and then removed. They went back and forth about scheduling me because the PA wanted to talk to the doctor about what she felt so I was told I would have to wait to get a call from them. So this terrifies me even more and by the time they told me I could go I was just sobbing. When I went to check out, I was told that I would have to schedule another appt for the birth control, I was told that because I addressed concerns within my visit I would be charged for an exam because it wasn't considered 'preventive care' even though I was well overdue for a pap. And they didn't have the charges ready to go at the front desk either. I walked up to the desk at 12 (my appt was at 10:15, I was not seen until 11:30) and didn't check out until one, after I went to the desk and begged them, in hiccuping sobs, that I really just wanted to go home and they finally hustled and let me leave. I got home, called around and have an appt Monday with an ACTUAL OB/GYN and not a physicians assistant who isn't going to brush me off when I was obviously upset and scared and not give me any info on what's going on with my body. Like telling me polyps are often benign and easily removed, all information I had to seek out on my own. That's all I would've needed to hear to keep me calm through the rest of this visit.
