Cool, laid back place and it was always open during our long weekend trip to Marfa. Shady, eclectic and cool! This place had a mix of locals and tourists. Beer and cocktails are on the menu. Live music was scheduled to happen later in the evening. Grab a drink and wander around! There is a teepee, school bus, elevated patio deck, bar games and lots of tables.

One of the coolest places I have ever been to. I recently visited marfa for the first time and quickly learned how early everything closes. Planet Marfa is the main spot where you can find great drinks and food late night. I absolutely loved that they had gluten free options. I had the vegan/gluten free pizza two nights in a row and it was just as delicious everytime. The overall aesthetic was so cool. I have never seen a place like this. There are so many different themed spaces for you to hang out.

We had a group of 10 that drove across the U.S. & Canada to Marfa to celebrate my 50th birthday. We visited Planet Marfa late afternoon after a few stops and made ourselves at home here. We enjoyed several cocktails, played ping pong and enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was super friendly (staff and fellow patrons). The vibe here is perfect... relaxed and chill. Drinks were on point. I could have stayed longer but we had several other stops to make. I will certainly be back sooner than later! Also, I must add that one friend didn't realize he lost his wallet until the following day. He retraced his steps back here. They weren't open yet, but some lovely gentleman let him in to look around. He did indeed find his wallet. Wonderful place!

Amazing beer garden with a very cool observation deck (which can get quite warm in the high elevation, late winter sun) and an eclectic crowd. This is a proper small town dive bar. Astrid was cool but efficient at the bar, and you can literally find an interesting conversation at every turn. Serve yourself peanuts in the shell are a perfect touch, and the music was excellent. This is an authentic dive bar in a town that is losing its authenticity. Good job and best wishes, Planet Marfa.

One of the coolest, most unique bars I've been to. It definitely had a hipster feel with a southwestern twist, which pretty accurately describes Marfa as a town. Not a ton of unique cocktails or drink options, but they have the classics and that's all you need. It's a super casual place and I think it would be so fun to go back for some live music.

The short bus, nice and dry

Stopped by for an adult beverage. Very unique and nice. The bartenders were friendly and fast. Fairly busy for a rainy day, and the live band was great. Enjoyed the bus since it was wet outside from the rain previously in the day.

Groovy Hippy vibe outdoors, cold beer, good pizza, reasonable prices . Lots of cool stuff to look at as you walk around.

Fun outdoor space with an upbeat atmosphere. The bar was busy, but the staff was attentive. The food arrived quickly and was tasty.

Maybe to check out, grab a quick drink, scope out the crowd. But otherwise, just a novelty.

We stopped by here to try Seed to Surf's tinned Enoki Mushroom "Snow Crab" style. I really liked…read morethe strong umami flavor and I enjoyed the texture too. It was really interesting and fun to try. The plate we got it with looked pretty good, but the bread was stale and the homemade pickles were not very well pickled- Tasted like they were put in vinegar that same day. We mentioned to the staff that our bread was stale to see if we could get a fresher one but they said it's because it supposed to be like a crouton/ toast. We have had many croutons and toasts in our lives ofcourse that didn't feel and taste like stale bread but we just took it as a funny part of our Marfa stop experience. Not a place I'd come back to consider the quality for the price but definitely a memorable end to our short stop in Marfa. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

This place is a real treat! We sat at the bar and ordered some of their delicious plates…read more We got the eggplant and potato croquettes, which were fried to perfection. We also got the tasty smoked salmon tinned fish plate, which came with pickled carrots and radishes, castelvantrano olives, and crackers. It paired nicely with their funky orange wine. The owner/server was friendly, and nice to chat about their Texas wine. I ended up buying two bottles, my favorite being their rose. This is a place the locals go to hang out, and you get a real vibe for Marfa's small and close-knit community. It was fun to be there and be part of the action.

Our room was spacious and overlooked the pool. Hotel is extremely dog friendly! Reasonable room rates and comfortable bed. Parking onsite and street parking available. Pool looked lovely. Multiple areas to socialize and gather. Lots of history and cool art. We loved the onsite shopping/boutiques! Great for souvenirs and unique West Texas finds. We will always plan to stay here when we visit Marfa!

I chose Hotel Paisano over another hotel in Marfa because the other property's website clearly…read morestated, in all capital letters, that there was no elevator. Accessibility and mobility concerns were a factor in our decision, and Hotel Paisano's website gave no indication that its elevator was out of service. Upon arrival, we were informed that the elevator was not working and would not be repaired during our stay. Every guest room requires climbing at least one flight of stairs, making this a significant issue for anyone with mobility limitations. What was most disappointing was not just the outage itself, but the fact that it was never disclosed before our arrival. We were also told at check-in that the restaurant was closed for renovations and no food service would be available. One of the reasons I selected this hotel was because the restaurant menu looked more appealing than those offered by other hotels in town. Again, this information was not communicated in advance. We were informed that the bar would remain open until 3 p.m. each day. However, when we visited around noon on Saturday, we were told we could not order drinks because the space was being reserved for a private party later that evening. That same party continued until 10 pm and the noise was loud enough to be clearly heard from our room. The party guests extended into the pool area. Event attendees were allowed to use the pool, and guests in formal attire were jumping into the water fully clothed. While that may have been entertaining for those attending the event, it created an atmosphere that felt more like a private venue rental than a hotel serving paying guests who were expecting a quiet and relaxing stay. The guests were also taking photos with a very bright flash camera. Every flash penetrated through both the sheer and formal sets of curtains in our room and made relaxing and sleeping impossible. Any one of these issues might have been manageable had they been disclosed before booking. Instead, guests were left to discover them only after arrival. I was particularly troubled by the apparent lack of concern regarding guests with mobility challenges. When a property has no practical access to guest rooms except by stairs due to an inoperable elevator, that information should be communicated prominently before a reservation is made so travelers can make informed decisions based on their needs. The hotel seems to rely heavily on its historic reputation and charm, but historic character should not come at the expense of transparency, accessibility, or guest service. The elevator outage, restaurant closure, restricted bar access, and late-night private event created an experience that felt far different from what was advertised.
