Cool, laid back place and it was always open during our long weekend trip to Marfa. Shady, eclectic and cool! This place had a mix of locals and tourists. Beer and cocktails are on the menu. Live music was scheduled to happen later in the evening. Grab a drink and wander around! There is a teepee, school bus, elevated patio deck, bar games and lots of tables.

One of the coolest places I have ever been to. I recently visited marfa for the first time and quickly learned how early everything closes. Planet Marfa is the main spot where you can find great drinks and food late night. I absolutely loved that they had gluten free options. I had the vegan/gluten free pizza two nights in a row and it was just as delicious everytime. The overall aesthetic was so cool. I have never seen a place like this. There are so many different themed spaces for you to hang out.

We had a group of 10 that drove across the U.S. & Canada to Marfa to celebrate my 50th birthday. We visited Planet Marfa late afternoon after a few stops and made ourselves at home here. We enjoyed several cocktails, played ping pong and enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was super friendly (staff and fellow patrons). The vibe here is perfect... relaxed and chill. Drinks were on point. I could have stayed longer but we had several other stops to make. I will certainly be back sooner than later! Also, I must add that one friend didn't realize he lost his wallet until the following day. He retraced his steps back here. They weren't open yet, but some lovely gentleman let him in to look around. He did indeed find his wallet. Wonderful place!

Amazing beer garden with a very cool observation deck (which can get quite warm in the high elevation, late winter sun) and an eclectic crowd. This is a proper small town dive bar. Astrid was cool but efficient at the bar, and you can literally find an interesting conversation at every turn. Serve yourself peanuts in the shell are a perfect touch, and the music was excellent. This is an authentic dive bar in a town that is losing its authenticity. Good job and best wishes, Planet Marfa.

One of the coolest, most unique bars I've been to. It definitely had a hipster feel with a southwestern twist, which pretty accurately describes Marfa as a town. Not a ton of unique cocktails or drink options, but they have the classics and that's all you need. It's a super casual place and I think it would be so fun to go back for some live music.

The short bus, nice and dry

Stopped by for an adult beverage. Very unique and nice. The bartenders were friendly and fast. Fairly busy for a rainy day, and the live band was great. Enjoyed the bus since it was wet outside from the rain previously in the day.

Getting there, though, felt like stepping backward in time--partly paved roads, weathered buildings, and aging homes that quietly carry the town's long history. Then, almost abruptly, Sentinel Marfa appears as a striking contrast. The building is crisp and modernist, the kind of clean, intentional design you'd expect in a big-city neighborhood, not tucked into a rugged, historic West Texas landscape. Inside, that contrast continues. The high ceilings and open, airy layout give the space a contemporary calm, while scattered tables display local art, newspapers, and small curios that root it firmly in Marfa's creative spirit. A hallway beside the ordering counter leads to a quieter back room, which in turn opens to an outdoor area shaded by a massive oak tree. The place was buzzing, full enough that we ended up sharing a table with another family, which somehow felt fitting in a town like this. Coffee is ordered at the counter, with both staff and baristas displaying some of that West Texas charm and with a smile. Drinks are picked up at the counter while food finds its way to you. The coffee drinks are crafted with beans from Picacho Coffee Roasters. Straight coffee and lattes were exceptional, and the breakfast tacos, made fresh with fluffy eggs, cheese, and potatoes, delivered exactly what we needed. By the time we left, we felt not just caffeinated, but welcomed and ready to explore a place where time seems to move at its own deliberate pace.

It was really interesting and fun to try. The plate we got it with looked pretty good, but the bread was stale and the homemade pickles were not very well pickled- Tasted like they were put in vinegar that same day. We mentioned to the staff that our bread was stale to see if we could get a fresher one but they said it's because it supposed to be like a crouton/ toast. We have had many croutons and toasts in our lives ofcourse that didn't feel and taste like stale bread but we just took it as a funny part of our Marfa stop experience. Not a place I'd come back to consider the quality for the price but definitely a memorable end to our short stop in Marfa. It's for a very Texas upscale vibe tho, I liked the ambiance quite a bit! They had a lot of tables outside with heat lamps because it does get cool in the evenings, and they had regular tables and bar seating inside. We didn't have a reservation bc I wasn't sure what time we'd be arriving, but luckily they were able to seat us immediately at the bar since all the other tables were taken (wait for a table was almost an hour and a half). Our waitress (her name was Dallas) was super sweet and attentive and clearly knew the menu well. It's not a very long menu and the portion sizes were a little small for the price, hence 4/5 stars. But the flavors were excellent! My dad and I both got the risotto which had a little more to the portion, and my mom got the trout which was admittedly very small for like $35ish. But as I said, excellent flavor there! She also got a cocktail for like $16ish that they made off menu because she likes sweeter drinks and all the main menu drinks were pretty dry. I spent like $170 in total for all our food plus tax and tip I think? Objectively not terrible, but again for the price - it was a little high. Will also mention they had a single stall restroom, it was immaculate! And there was a good bit of street parking just around the corner from the place in front of a church, so even though there's no lot you can find a place to park.
