Here's what my girl friends and I ordered:…read more We started with the Chorizo and Cheese Platter. I super enjoyed the chorizo's salty goodness that could be toned down with the cheese. This platter also comes with some crackers and sweet grapes. However, the appetizer I enjoyed more is the Jamon Serrano - oh goodness! I wanted to order some rice, but since we still had our mains, I controlled myself. :p I least liked the Pollo Empanadas and Pulpi ala Gallega. The former was dry save for the breading (which tasted good) and accompanying salad, while the latter was too gummy and had a burnt taste. For our mains, we had the Espaguetis con Gambas al ajilio and their paella, which were both delicious! The pasta's garlicky flavor wasn't overpowering and the shrimps were succulent! The paella, on the other hand, was so flavorful that even though we've had our fill of carbs already, we still managed to finish everything - simot! :D For desserts, we tried the Tocino del Cielo, Chocolate soufflé, and Churros con chocolate. I enjoyed the soufflé the most because of its rich flavor and smooth texture. We paired everything with refreshingly goo red wine sangria.

A waitress was first taking an order and in the middle of it left without telling us why. Then our order arrived 45 minutes later. The only food I will recommend is the Paella. Then we waited for 1 more order we placed. After 45 minutes of waiting we followed up and our waitress forgot to place the order. I am freaking PISSED. This millennial waiter that was serving us did not apologize and all the time he was serving us he looks like he does not care if he provides a poor service. We asked for bottled water. He said oh our water is not called so I will just give you ice. The ice never came. I HATE THE SERVICE OF THIS PLACE. I don't mind paying for expensive food but service is more important. I will not recommend this restaurant. If management wants to contact me I can tell you the time and date we where there. There were only 4 tables occupied. Those two people should be coached on customer service.

Apart…read morefrom the fact that I was impressed the restaurant supports the cause for agreeing to participate, they also made it extra special because Chef Markus Gfeller prepared two four-course fine dining menus (one of them, a vegetarian option) specially for the event! Oh, did I also mention that there was a choice of bottomless Beringer red or white wines for your classy drinking pleasure? The place is just superb and huge, with a relaxing atmosphere that glows with the afternoon sun. And at night, the it gets more romantic with its warm lighting. The food was overall satisfying and different. I especially liked the pomelo sherbet dessert above all that I dream about it from time to time. It was a totally new experience to me who isn't a huge fan of wines overall. I enjoyed the white wine though. It is very..."potent", to say that in a less elegant manner. That said though, in a normal day, I wouldn't spend so much in a place like CAV. Perhaps at another fund-raising event when I know my money will save lives.

It sort of ruined the drive especially when they could not figure out the wine to pair it with. Too much sauce guys! I like my ravioli almost dry and rich with flavor. On the upside... Great wine selection, duck confit buns (YUM!), ambiance, and smoking area. Great job with the remodeling...classy! ...and by the way, the service was OUTSTANDING!

It's a bright, delicious, and heady fusion, not unlike laughter and stories shared among good friends. These are the dishes that stood out on our table, and that I highly recommend: Chorizo and Cheese Platter - This is the dish that I'll remember this night by. I enjoyed consuming the delicious bite-size pieces of chorizo bilbao, followed by slices of manchego and bleu cheese on crackers, and washed down by sangria. Jamon Serrano Espaguetis con Gambas Al Ajillo - One of the best seafood pasta dishes I've had in a long, long while. The prawns were perfectly cooked, and the taste of garlic was not too overpowering. The amount of oil used to coat the pasta was also just right. I would have loved to have roasted garlic cloves with this dish, and perhaps a little more parmesan. Paella de Marisco Chocolate Souffle Tocino del Cielo Dishes that could be better: Pollo Empanada - The chicken was moist and juicy, but lacked flavor. Patatas Bravas - I thought there was too much dressing on this dish. I would have preferred that the potatoes be served warm. And the dressing looks and tastes inexpensive. Pulpo a la Gallega - I had high expectations for this dish. Slices of octopus on a bed of mashed potatoes and paprika sauce. The mash could use a little more salt. I am not sure why the paprika sauce lacked heat and that smoky flavor one would expect from paprika.
