Great staff. I highly recommend this location over neighboring gyms, including fellow PF locations.

FIND A DIFFERENT GYM STAFF HERE ARE HORRIBLE CARLOS WILL DEFINITELY CANCEL YOUR TANNING APPOINTMENT! If I could give is a zero star I would Carlos the manager is absolutely rude and makes up rules as he goes! I walked in made a tanning reservation and began my work out 10 min till my tanning time I walked outside to grab my eye protection and walked back in to tan told them my name and they informed me they canceled my tanning time because I left the facility! I was not late I had 5 min till I could tan! I informed them I simply forgot my eye protection and was gone for a simple min to go get them! They lady said your appointment time is still open if I wanted to reschedule as I'm rescheduling my appointment Carlos said that was nice of you to tell her if it was me I wouldn't have allowed it! So I asked if it was in my contract stating that I couldn't leave the building and come right back cuz I forgot my eye gear and he couldn't tell me if it was or not I have read the policy and nothing stated that you can't leave to fetch something from your car! This has happened to me 3 times and he still can't prove it in writing what there policy is! Carlos informed me that I need to tell them why we are leaving the facility if we are returning and I simply informed him he's not my adult and I do t have to report to him if I'm not canceling my tanning time so he went ahead and canceled my second reservation for a tanning bed and said you will not be tanning today! It's just a bad experience all the way around the staff make rules as they go so I strongly recommend you go find a better gym like I will be doing! Note: I told Carlos I would be calling corporate and tell them what happened and he simply responded with go ahead because they will send it to me so it won't change anything read more

Love coming to this gym, has everything you could ever need, the reason i'm giving it such a poor rating is it's not safe. I workout at night usually pretty late because of my job. Unfortunately a car gets broken into close to once a week, 3 of the times it was my gym partners or friends. I put no blame on the gym but the location, easy access to the highway, a dim lit parking lot and they have cameras but they are not operational. I wish it wasn't this way because this is a very nice planet fitness. read more

I would give it a zero star if I could the general manager Declan after making a mistake on his part raised his voice and ended up canceling the membership I was having problems with without my express permission and without being there literally forged the signature and was extremely rude after being a consistent customer do not recommend the environment the amenities or the people that work there. read more

Not sure why this location hasn't been set up here yet, as it's been open for nearly a year already, but here it is!!! I am SO HAPPY that there's a new, clean, convenient, SUPER reasonably priced, well-run, CLEAN (!!) gym for me and my fellow COUCH POTATOES to make a stab at FINALLY keeping our New Year resolutions!!! I struggled to stay loyal to Springfield's YMCA, but it's just not the place for anyone who a) works during the day, b) isn't a kid or a senior citizen, c) wants to swim but is not on the swim team!!, and d) tired of CONSTANT pleas for $$$ with little/no visible results. This place, with its new, well-kept machines, PERFECT hours, and no hassle enrollment (got a special, end-of-year $99.00/year rate!!) will be just what I need to get the extra holiday pounds off, feel like I'm doing what needs to be done to stay vertical (!!) and not feel QUITE so guilty about all the WONDERFUL new dining establishments I plan to discover and review this year on YELP!! Beware of Planet Fitness in Springfield! I cancelled my membership a year ago..I thought!! I Was not using it because of the pandemic. Apparently they froze my account and starting deducting payments out of my bank account again without any notification after the Pandemic! Do not give them your bank information! They make it impossible to cancel the membership! They refused to cancel it for a second time by phone. They keep charging my account after telling them several times I cancelled my membership! I'm sure this is happening to other people as well!! read more

Affordable gym to get some quality workout. Great staff. Open 24hours a day and they're only closed during certain holidays. The gym have plenty of equipments to use...... unless you're picky. They have more than 10 treadmills​, 5 benches​, more than 9 leg equipments, 5 to 75lbs dumbbells 2 pairs each, more than 5 equipments for abs, more than 10 ellipticals, 4 stepmill and plenty more. The staff can repair equipment within a few weeks. I recommend to go there during less busy hour. read more

Very clean facility and they take germ transmitting seriously by having wipe down stations everywhere. They have every exercise machine you can imagine. Whether you want to just go work out at your own pace or try their timed workouts on machines it is awesome. Staff is always polite and his has been the only gym fitness place i do not feel ashamed or like people are watching me. Very comfy atmosphere. read more

Easy going and friendly staff. Great machines, clean clean, clean place great people. Bang for the buck you won't find a better gym. Clean gym,friendly staff, and a great value

I use this gym when I'm visiting family in the area because it's clean, convenient and has plenty of equipment. Unfortunately, the drop-in fee (for visitors/non-members) is $20/day, which is ridiculously overpriced for a gym in rural Ohio. Nor do they have any one-week or one-month passes available. So while it's quite reasonably priced for residents, it's not a good option for visitors. Since I have a degree in kinesiology (the study of anatomy and physiology related to human movement), I have some insights on their equipment within the following general pros and cons about this gym: PROS - you will never run out of cardio equipment here; there are plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes (both upright and semi-recumbent), and stepping machines - the place is kept very clean, and the members are conscientious about cleaning equipment after they use it - there are plenty of weight machines (all Life Fitness equipment), which are reasonably well designed - inexpensive membership fees, at least compared to Seattle. Seems like a bargain to me. - a welcoming philosophy that strives to make people of all shapes and sizes feel comfortable - two areas reserved for people doing "express" type circuit training workouts (although I saw only a few people using them during the week I was there) - friendly staff CONS - overpriced guest fees; see above. - no squat racks, but more Smith machines (5) than I've ever seen in one gym before. You can use a Smith machine to do squats but it forces the body to conform to the machine's purely vertical range of motion, which is not biomechanically correct during a squat. The squat is a key exercise to build lower body strength; every gym needs at least one squat rack. This serious omission deducted one star from my review. - only one, very poorly designed calf machine that places far too much stress on the lumbar spine, and no seated calf machine to isolate the soleus (deep calf) muscles. - very poorly designed leg abduction machines (where you sit with bent knees and spread your legs apart to strengthen butt muscles) which permit only a fraction of the range of motion necessary to properly work the abductors - under-inflated Versa/exercise balls (which are great for sit-ups and other core-strengthening exercises); they're supposed to be firm, not soft and mushy - no mirrors in the stretching area where it's particularly important to see your form - that welcoming philosophy I mentioned in PROS doesn't apply to body builders, who clearly aren't welcome at this gym. They even have something called a "lunk alarm" that can be set off if somebody grunts too loudly. It seems rather judgmental for a gym that promotes a "no judgement" philosophy. Despite the cons, this is a pretty nice gym. For someone who just wants to do cardio and use weight machines, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. However, people who are more serious about strength training may find it lacking (squat racks!). read more

Shortly after joining I was advised not to use the equipment after being diagnosed with arthritis of the lower spine.After hoping my situation would improve and I would be able to use the facility it became clear that my doctors were right, and I should not use the gym, rather just do stretches and exercise. Planet Fitness explained at that point I would actually pay a little more to cancel and just wait when my membership is up. I called up to cancel a few days before my anniversary date and was told I still would be charged the $58 early cancellation fee, even though I have paid for the entire year already. And that I must come in person on only that date for a "one minute" cancellation on their computer. If I come a day late I will be charged another months fees. Not very accommodating to someone that paid them about $170 without having to provide any services. Even being paid in full for the year, we are told there is ONLY ONE DAY in 365 days that we can cancel without being charged some extra fee. That only equates to being greedy. Should PT encounter some financial difficulties, I hope their creditors treat them with the same consideration and shuts them down if they are late with their payments.
