Ordered brake parts for my mountain bike. Time passed between the order and a package arriving. The wrong parts arrived. I sent a few emails and got no reply. I found Adam's email address and contacted him directly since normal support never replied after multiple attempts to correct the problem. Apologies were made and I was told the correct parts would ship immediately. That was September 3rd. The original order was made in August. Still no tracking, no parts so I wrote again and said I needed the parts so I'd have to look elsewhere. The delays were putting me too far behind. Adam wrote me back saying he'd issue a refund and that he hoped I'd consider them in the future. Still no refund. I'm not sure what's going on. As someone who works in customer service myself, this is the absolute perfect way to make sure to lose customers and word of mouth business. If we can't even get the small orders correct, I have no faith to make even bigger purchases. read more

After searching everywhere online and locally for a bike for my son, I found a great deal on Planet BMXs website. I ordered it and waited for my son to be thrilled on Christmas. A week later I was concerned that I hadn't received a shipping notification so I called and talked to Adam. Turns out there was some miscommunication and the bike I ordered was not available. I was ready to be bummed/pissed, but Adam came with the Holiday Spirit. I won't go into details but he made the situation right by finding me a new bike and expediting the shipping so I'd for sure have it by Christmas! Placed an order for 3 items, credit card charged immediately, only got an email saying "Order completed you'll receive your items shortly". Not good enough. If you're charging me for shipping - which they are - the least they can do is provide tracking information. I should also mention the negative experience I had at their shop in Atlantic Beach - Walked up and there was a sign on the door that they were closed. Looked in through the window to see what they had - which was not much. The store is probably a few hundred square feet, tops. Some guy was inside sweeping and gave me a mean mug. So I walked off. A minute later he comes out yelling from behind - "do you wanna come in and look around?" At that point I had gotten enough of an impression what these people are like. Lesson learned. Will be avoiding Planet Bmx in the future. I'm almost willing to bed they are drop shipping their website items - which is why you're not getting tracking information or anything else very quickly. Received it in a timely manner but upon opening the handlebars were damaged. The reply to my email was that they couldn't replace them. I have placed one order with Planet BMX. They have a good selection of vintage old school style BMX stuff. The website is so-so and the search engine on the site is useless. There are ALOT of out-of-date adds on the homepage as well. Communication is not good. Never got a return email and after 10 calls I finally got through to a person, who was very nice and explained my order questions. SOunds like I hate the place, huh? Not at all. . .take into consideration that they are the primary source here in the US and internationally for Skyway wheels and other old school stuff. They stay busy, and that makes it difficult I am sure, to follow up. I received my order in a timely fashion. One item was backordered and arrived in a 10-12 days on a seperate shipment. I had been looking for a PK Ripper 27.5 for months. Planet BMX's site showed that they were expecting a shipment of (5) from SE by the 16th and they were accepting pre-orders. I figured that I better check reviews online as this is a pretty expensive bike and I had never purchased from this seller. The reviews here on Yelp were quite mixed. As a test before placing my order, I emailed customer service to see if they might ignore my inquiry like others have written about. To his credit Richard got back to me at 10am the next morning letting me know that the bikes were already in their warehouse and about to ship. That reply was much quicker than I expected so I placed my order on the 15th. FEDEX delivered the bike to my door for free on the 18th! As another review stated it looked like Planet BMX opened, inspected the bike and added extra paper padding prior to shipping the bike to me. Two days later I ordered some handlebars and got them the next day! I know everyone's buying experience is unique, but for my money Planet BMX could not have done a better job. I was upset about the way I was being treated by the staff at Planet BMX. WEEKS PASSEDas I attempted to contact Planet BMX to no prevail. I sent emails and called (leaving multiple messages) in attempt to making contact. I can understand not replying one week, maybe two weeks. But beyond that, frustrating. The most frustrating point is that I called and left voicemails just asking for someone to call or email me back to let me know if Planet BMX can help. I learned that my number was tagged to be sent directly to an answering service rather than ringing thought to the store. I verified this by using two other phones to call Planet BMX. I had no problem getting into contact with a Planet BMX bike staff member as I acted the part of a different person. I received an email from the original point of contact, explaining that they were out for a personal reason. My question is, why didn't one of the other staff members contact me and at least explain that the point of contact was out or something. Instead, I was left to figure out where to find the items I need. Planet BMX has an amazing selection of items one would need. Which is the reason I CHOSE to utilize Planet BMX to aquire those items at the beginning. Since the weeks have past, I have had to spend more money on postage in efforts to aquire those items than what I would have if Planet BMX assisted me from the beginning. I have nearly paid enough for shipping for these items as what it would cost to buy a new BMX racing bike. Planet BMX decided to contact me now, after going through that mess... I am very angry with how insignificant I was treated by the staff at Planet BMX. I'm not sure if I will allow my son's to represent them in the future. I'll have to calm down and a lot of things must fall into place before I turn back to Planet BMX, IF EVER. Now that I have identified a reliable source to obtain necessary items for building amazing BMX bikes. At least the point of contact emailed me at all, to explain HIS displacement. I placed an order yesterday and because of the craziness of the world, I decided to give them a call to see if or when the order was placed. I had kind of jumped the gun by emailing and asking for information etc. When I called I talked with a super chill guy that I didn't catch his name, but told me my order would go out today since the bike I ordered was small.
