They even had a couple crates of Broadway soundtracks the day we stopped in. Though we didn't look through them, you can also get CDs, cassettes and even 8-tracks here. The store itself is super crowded - narrow aisles, things precariously stacked about in places. Get more than a few people in here and it's hard to move around. It was also quite cold inside as they left the front door open (in January) the entire time we were there. The owner is fantastic and helpful and knows where his stock is. Prices vary and are generally pretty good - less expensive than other places in town, for the most part. Sidetracks will definitely be a stop for us any time we're in town.

My wife is from the Bay Area of California and says this place reminds her of the record stores back home. I'm from the other side of the mountain and there's nothing like this over there except for maybe in the Richmond area. Truly a unique shop for this part of the country. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service. They're great about special ordering or keeping an eye out for things you want. Wide array of genres and formats, and other cool items like pins, patches, video games, movies, memorabilia, shirts, etc. We're mainly into heavy/extreme metal and 70s rock and country and we always find gems here; some of the rarest records in our collection came from here! Pricing is generally on par with Discogs so I'm not sure why other reviewers are complaining. Even if you're paying a bit more you still get the brick and mortar experience and are supporting a local business. If you're local and haven't been here yet you're missing out. If you're passing through the area and are into record collecting this should be a mandatory stop.

What really pissed me off which is why it will be a long tile before I come in again is because of the cashiers attitude. She asked me if I wanted a receipt as said no, she first slided my credit card to me and slided my frequent buyer club card to me without saying a word. I asked if I could get a stamp she said I need to spend $15. When I handed her the frequent card what happens to nice customer service. What about sorry sir but you need to spend $15 instead of just sliding it to me like she has a chip on her shoulder and saying what she said in a snotty way. I saw you had uncle buck for $29.99. I thought about coming back to buy that later. But let me guess. Since I would be $0.01 under $30?? Uncle Buck is OPENED and they are selling a used / opened for $29.99 and you can get it Brad new on Amazon or Barnes & Noble for $22.49 Your frequent club could be designed to be more useful to your customers instead of making it pointless if you spend $13.99 Update it for 15 stamps if you spend $10 or something like that. What really pisses me off the most is my cashiers attitude. I didn't feel worthy of taking her precious time or made you feel like am appreciated customer with her attitude.
