They will always try to charge you extra for any service, like posting small letters as large letters or trying to add a 'sign for' for a regular birthday card! I have never used the convenience shop located in the same place, so i can't say anything about that, but the service in the Post Office leaves a lot to be desired...

The people that work there are generally co-operative and friendly and always smile. There is also a photo shop there where you can take pictures with a chosen background and get them developed at a price. There is also an area to buy mobile phones and you can also get your oyster topped up here. The shop is also a convenient store so you can buy your household items here also and food and drink. They also sell cards and gifts and toys for little children.

Now once or twice and this would've been ok but I've seen it now everytime I've gone in. I've tried at 9am (less busy but people had been queuing for 20 minutes), 1pm and 3pm and still no better. The staff CAN be helpful until you need forms filling in then they're about as helpful as an ice cube in hell! I've made sure any companies I deal with now can be done via direct debit or direct in branch as I vowed never to go back there.

Or something like that. What I am saying, is that the staff are able to accommodate for the busy nature of the place. When it's busy they have about 5 staff members, which is not always the case at other post offices. The staff are actually pretty nice as well. I went in there to send a rather large package to Australia, and the lady was not even angry with my about the fact that I hadn't yet written the address because I was unsure of where to put it. It is the small things that separate the post offices in terms of quality.

I have never had a problem with this post office until this new guy started working here…read more I had a discount Oyster card form which was stamped and signed. I also provided proof of ID and address and he still didn't give me a new Oyster card despite showing more proof than I was supposed to. He accused me of not saying the truth and that I'm not eligible for it. How can that be the case when I have it stamped and signed? I also showed him more proof than I was supposed to. He made me go through so much stress just to get a new Oyster card and I never had to do all this. None of the previous employees ever asked for my bank statement because my ID and form is enough. but this guy made me get my bank statement and on top started looking at my personal things (my outgoing and incoming) The audacity. He kept saying I need to show proof I live in London? How can I not live in London if I literally showed my ID and bank statement? Obviously I got irritated and told him that he isn't doing his job properly and I kept explaining that I'm showing proof of everything but he still said no. He was telling me to provide more than I was supposed to. (He then told me to show a council tax letter to prove I live in London) nowhere does it say I need to provide that to get a discount Oyster card. He was being complicated on purpose. He must get a pay rise for it to be behaving like this. Later, I went to another post office and they gave me a new Oyster card within seconds, they asked no questions and they didn't even ask for my bank statement because it's not needed like this man claims. so after that I went back and showed him that "look you accused me of "lying" so how comes another post office gave it to me" he didn't have no answer he kept saying "I don't know" but still owed me no apology because he couldn't admit he was in the wrong. How are they employing someone like this?
