This is a 5 star shop for service and the quality of items they carry! I have been here multiple times to find lovely baby gifts. You won't believe how soft some of these materials are! They also have a beautiful line of christening whites. I called 3 days ago to find a gender neutral onesie for my friend who was unexpectedly delivering early. The lady that answered the phone was amazing. She walked through the entire store helping me pick something out OVER THE PHONE! She then sends me photos of a couple of options and they were perfect!! She picked up what I was putting down and found the perfect outfit. 10 min later I pull up outside and they bring me out the most beautifully wrapped gift with a cute little card for me to write a note on. Now that is service! They also have a great selection of kids clothing up to a certain age and then next door they have an older kid shop. They monogram for a small cost too! A must stop and shop for anyone looking for fine children's clothes--newborn to 4 or 5 years. Smocked goods, as well as "play clothes"--I put this in quotes because they are pretty pricey, but very cute and great quality. In the newborn section there are the softest cotton gowns and layettes imaginable. My friends with kids love these as gifts. I'm very popular at baby showers because of this place! There is a small selection of special-order baby furniture as well. Precious precious precious store filled with absolutely exquisite clothing and extras for babies thru toddlers! It's a lovely specialty boutique with an enormous selection of goodies to choose from! I literally could spend hours in there! The staff is extremely helpful and can answer any questions you might have. They offer embroidery which makes an ordinary item become quite special! If Rachel Ashwell designed baby clothes instead of linens, I think it would look something like the majority of clothing I saw here today. I could spend all day in the Children's Shop! They clothes are so beautiful and high quality. I just fall in love with the pretty smocked dresses, linen baby gowns, precious pajamas, and other baby items. They have little button front suits for boys - adorable! They also have a great selection of children's shoes. This is the perfect place to buy a baby gift. They have accessories such as picture frames, some figurines, blankets, pillows, and those soft baby bed sheets. Ahh! Children's Shop has something for everybody's taste. You can go as frilly as you like, or get more traditional, simple items. Everything in here is so sweet and delicate, though not cheap! The nice thing is when you purchase clothes here you know you are getting things that are really well made and the fit (as long as you buy the right size!) is just perfect. I visited the Plaid Rabbit in Nashville a few weeks ago. The employees were friendly and the store was darling. I purchased a few items and even received a military discount. I wanted to make sure I purchased the correct size for my baby so I decided to look up the brand per the tag so I googled the brand. To my confusion the brand sold for $15 online while I paid $35 with my discount. I understand that businesses need to make a profit I am just disappointed that the markup was so significant. I contacted the store thinking maybe they'd made a mistake and I was informed that they'd be happy to issue me store credit. They just lost a customer. I will not be spending anymore money there. read more

The Children's Shop is a large, ultra high-end infant and children's clothing store. A lot of the clothes here are old-fashioned looking (lacy white dresses, linen smocks, and embroidered one-piece outfits), but there are some more contemporary options too, like sparkly beaded shoes and cotton shirts in adorable, brightly colored prints ($11). I was kind of dumbfounded by the genuine leather baby shoes, and I can't imagine being able to afford all the other costs of having a child along with shopping here, but apparently some people can. The Children's Shop offers everything you could need to clothe a very fashionable baby or young child, including PJs, play clothes, and dress clothes. The also offer engraved silver memoribilia. The clothes seem high-quality and made to last, so maybe that somewhat justifies paying such high prices; you'll have lots of hand-me-downs to share when your child grows out of his baby clothes. read more

The Plaid Rabbit in Brentwood was wonderful! Very helpful staff and while it was small, I'd definitely go back again. On the other hand, the Plaid Rabbit in Green Hills was filled with snooty sales people who didn't say a peep to me even after I waited in line while they carried on a conversation with another shopper literally about the beautiful weather we had been having this past month. I loved their clothes selection but won't be stepping foot again at their GH location. read more
