I keep giving this place a shot, and am let down by their customer service every time. I work in fashion retail and often am asked to do personal shopping for friends and others. I do not look like the average demographic of clientele for this establishment, but this is rarely a problem at other high end shops. To my disappointment, every time I watch other customers get greeted with enthusiasm and offered help on their search, while I am blatantly ignored. Upon my first few visits I assumed it was a fluke, especially since I was still spending hundreds of dollars and given assistance when I asked. Upon my last visit, employees (including the owner) seemed to literally avoid eye contact with me while greeting other customers warmly. What a bummer. Letting them have two stars because I do think their selection is worth checking out. read more

She said she double booked and obviously was more interested in the other appointment and didn't give me or my very nice items a first look! She 100% wasted my time and travel! My first and only visit was today. I wasn't greeted or spoken to by anyone. The selection of items wasn't great. I saw fewer than a dozen actual designer items. Several pieces had stains, and the prices were higher than what I typically see from online resale sites. If this is Nashville's best resale shop, no thanks. read more

This is what I would call a "soccer mom's consignment" store...nothing vintage about it. They do have a lot of mid to high-end clothing, and everything I saw was in good to excellent condition--several items still had tags on them! Most was just not my style though. Lots of Chico's and Lilly Pulitzer--in fact, they had several racks dedicated to both brands. Also saw a plethora of Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, etc. See the trend? All pretty conservative! Nice clothing though, especially for work wear, or, though I have no experience in this, chasing kids around the house. One dress that caught my eye though was a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress...but too big for me. It was only $55 though! Now that's a steal! In the back room, they have a pretty large selection of baby and children's clothes--in fact, that was probably the busiest room. I can see where buying kid's consignment is definitely a deal. Other items of note that I noticed, but didn't buy, were a brand new pair of Lilly pants (with tags) for $32 and a new French Connection skirt (this time too small for me) for $35. Any consignment store is hit or miss. At designer finds, when I go, I am usually just keeping my eyes open for whatever random bargain I stumble across that I can't live without. I don't usually go there with one thing in mind - and when I have, I have not been successful! Staff is friendly enough, and even though I don't shop carrying my Gucci bag and dressed to the nines, they treat me just fine, as they should. If I need help, they give it. They are accommodating in searching for what i'm looking for in my size. They've also been helpful when I've phoned them with questions. Never rushed and like they don't have time for me. Clothing items are in very good to excellent condition. It's not dusty and musty like many consignment stores. It's not so crammed that you can't move around or look at items at all. It's just a very nice store. It's my favorite clothing consignment store. read more

I would never take my stuff here. I called a week ago and left a vm and no call back. I called again today to say I left a message and never heard back and wanted to Schedule and appt. For all kinds of stuff ( she didn't even apologize for not calling back, rude) She's real short and cold on the phone. No sweetness. She said her first available was February and I politely said "oooo ok I'm going to try to find another shop I can drop to sooner, just because I have a whole rolling rack of stuff" she said "good luck" and hung up! What the heck, who does that?. She didn't even let me finish my sentence or ask what I had or anything. So rude and unprofessional. Why would I bring designer clothes to this store for free and let her get 50% of my stuff. She can't even be kind, caring and polite on the phone? What has happened to customer service. I guess she isn't concerned about new business/customers. So sad to act like that. I'll box my stuff up and send it to charlotte where they are grateful and kind. Worst customer service I'd ever experienced as I went in for consignment. I had sold so many items to Buffalo exchange, wasteland and Crossroads, which are stores in LA where I'm from plus buffalo exchange in Nashville and Designer Finds was incredibly arrogant, passive aggressive, and short with me. They also assumed I didn't have anything on hangers which I DID but they were so quick to assume without even looking in my luggage. Their system makes no sense where they took my luggage's of belongings to the back behind a curtain for a while, they didn't even take note of what they took, and wouldn't want to give me a list of the items they may end up selling. So what the hell kind of proof am I supposed to get?! No idea. I was desperate to get rid of all my belongings being that I had to travel back to LA immediately. Months later I get a check of a dollar amount with no proof of what was sold and for how much but just a measly "thank you" letter to accompany the check. I know they took at least a few of my designer pieces being shoes, but on top of their horrific customer service (or lack of), their system of tracking inventory and giving invoices of some sort makes NO sense. Also, their assortment is terrible where I even found H&M pieces but they refused to take my high end brands like Vince. which were in great condition and appropriate for the season. Terrible aspiring 2nd hand "high end/ designer"boutique that clearly has a lot to learn from a consignment standpoint and buy. read more

Wow! I love this place. I stopped in today for the first time, and found several designer items at fantastic prices. The store is a pretty good size, so there's plenty to see. The staff was very friendly, and quickly told me about the sales, and started a fitting room for me (thank goodness, because my arm was about to break from all the items I found). This isn't the best place for quirky vintage styles, but it's the best for professional clothing and standard current styles. I can't wait to visit again! read more

I love this place. Other than UAL, this may be one of my best kept secrets. And it's the nicest clothing consignment shop I have ever been to. If you look hard, you'll find Prada, Armani, Chanel, Trina Turk, and Louis Vuitton. Yes, there are a lot of Lilly clothes, and that's not my style, either; but if you spend some time and go often you will find some gems for a fraction of the cost of retail. I have been shopping here for about 4 years. The staff (I believe it is a mother/daughter team) is SO nice. I love to bring clothes to sell here, too. It's like you're giving your favorite clothes a "good home" with a big back yard and a family..... Definitely visit this store during your next shopping trip!!! read more

Designer Finds is a vintage/mostly consignment store for designer brands for the conservatively dressed woman. I will agree with Robin S's review on this place. I gave it three stars because it didn't really fit into my style or into what I would like in a vintage store. This place was mostly gently used clothes from the past four or five seasons. It is located across the street from the Green Hills mall, so they share a lot of the same labels and the same shoppers. I had visited the shop in both the old location and the new location. They are both pretty similar, both strip mall spaces. Designer Finds does have good deals though. The prices don't stay the same for too long. I am not sure what their markdown schedule is for the items, but they do rotate their stock pretty frequently. They have reasonable prices on the 'new' to the store items, and they mark down anything that hasn't sold quickly. Designer Finds is definitely worth stopping in at least once just to see if you like the styles they have there. Then you can decide if you want to put the store on your normal bargain hunting route. read more

I am a big fan of consignment shopping. Often you can usually get some great deals on quality fashion at a reasonable price. Most consignment stores are hit or miss. I have found many items tend to be over priced and geared towards older women. I'm also not a big fan of the individuals running the place. I have found on numerous occasions, to be a bit on the frosty side. Not to say I won't go back but it wouldn't be my first stop. read more

The low prices at Designer Finds set it apart from the other upscale secondhand clothing shops I've visited in Nashville. For example, most of their tops (minus the high-end designer pieces) cost between $12 and $25. Their clothes are made by mid- (The Gap, Jones of New York, Anne Taylor, Eddie Bauer) to high-end designers, and range from casual to dressy to formal. They also have a children's section, along with shoes, jewelry, and accessories. I wasn't impressed by the jewelry, which looked kind of gaudy and run-of the-mill to me. While Designer Finds clothes aren't exactly hip, I found some high-quality basics and work clothes here - blouses, dress pants, suit jackets, sweaters, jeans, etc. Designer Finds seems to be very popular with women over 35, and even on a Wednesday afternoon the store was bustling with customers. Although I personally would only come here for basics and professional threads, I would recommend this store to my Mom, or any other fashion and budget-conscious mature woman. read more

If I could give this place NO stars I would. They were INCREDIBLY rude to work with. I had a ton of my kids' clothes that I was dropping off a while back, after waiting MONTHS for an appointment. In the boxes were clothes from every season, but you can mix and match a lot for other seasons as well. They first complained about the clothes not being on hangers, which most of them were, then about how much there was, and then that they were not solely in-season clothes. They called me to pick up the boxes and said they had left a few pieces in that they couldn't take yet because it wasn't the right season. I don't think they took ANYTHING. The boxes were just as heavy as when I dropped them off and there was a ton of stuff that kids could wear in-season. And some of the clothes were super expensive and really nice, but they still wouldn't take them. The next appointment available was for 6 months from now. They said that when I brought the clothes back in a few months, that I needed to wash and press them again because they were dirty. These clothes have been hanging up in my kids closets, not sitting in dust. They are perfectly clean. I wouldn't let my children wear dirty clothes. I felt like they were judging me as a mom. If these people do not enjoy working with people or their jobs in general, then they need to find another profession. This is a business that should be handled with kindness and generosity, but these people were just plain rude. Whether they have good stuff for sale I don't know, I just wanted to review their completely awful behavior in terms of bringing in clothes to their store. read more

BEST consignment shopping in Nashville! I have had the BEST service here for over 3 years. The employees are so friendly, helpful and you can tell they REALLY look through the pieces that are brought in. They have designer pieces as well as J.Crew, Gap and Talbots. It is great to get beautiful dresses or a simple shirt. Pricing is great and varied. I always find something that I can either wear for work or for a dinner. I have also NEVER had any of my pieces damaged here! Whether it was a JCrew shirt OR a $700 (only had it for a couple of months and did not carry it) designer bag. This store is one of, if not the best consignment store in Nashville! I don't think people realize how hard it truly is bring in the best type of clean and clothes that are actually worth selling! The women who work there are always kind and patient when explaining how the sell and consignment processes work! I have never been disappointed with anything I have bought at this store. I really appreciate how clean and put together the clothes are. These women are all there with their honest opinions about what looks good and what could look even better! This is a great consignment store for more conservative shoppers as well as older gals - lots of Chicos, Lilly Pulitzer, etc. Plus, they have a great children's section as well as accessories, shoes and purses. Their location is near Green Hills Mall which is a plus for shoppers and consignors. The staff was friendly and seemed to know their inventory.
