According to the website, "You'll never know what you'll find...not just another junk store...a very cool place with very cool things and where very cool people go." I stepped inside "cool" while visiting Nashville. I'm happy I did:) FIVE stars for the eclectic array of items offered; the metal lighted signs made & sold here; for longtime staffer Ron; & for the wonderfully vibrant blue-acccented old brick building that houses this business-- SEE EXTERIOR PICS. This fun mismash of creativity is open 7 days weekly from 10 AM until 5 PM. Here you'll find vinyl (albums & singles); posters; pipes ($15); magnets; weed bags; guitar cutting boards; old Playboys (thankfully still wrapped); vintage books; costume jewelry; T-shirts; baseball caps; porcelain skulls; vintage clothing (2nd floor); vintage furniture; metal signage; & the handmade lighted signs that Skip & Ron make, along w/ much more! SEE THE PIC of Ron working on a sign! Many area Nashville businesses purchase these interior signs for their own businesses. The ones on the walls of this shoppe range in price from approx $250 to $300-- SEE PICS. I walked out w/ a $3 mint condition 2020 lined cigar box (perfect for costume jewelry-- SEE PIC) & a $15 mid-century-look ashtray. I also exited w/ fascinating history that precludes this fun shoppe-- Ron, a former Dixieland musician, is an interesting guy! He appeared a little rough around the edges @ first, but before long he was talking & adding intrigue to COOL STUFF WEIRD THINGS. If you're looking for a nontraditional, interesting shoppe of This & That, you'll find it here. It's a cross between a souvenir shop & a vintage shop-- one w/ PLENTY OF FLARE!

I visited Nashville last month and stopped in at Cool Stuff Weird Things on my first day. Because of this, and despite how much "cool stuff" they had, I was trying not to buy too much before seeing what other shops would have to offer (I didn't have a ton of extra suitcase room). However, the guy working was so nice and helpful I couldn't resist but to buy a few things. A friend of mine bought a poster and while we were loitering outside of the store afterwards, the man working came out to tell us he just got in the same print in a metal format which was better for us because we were traveling. Very cool treasures to be found and very nice, helpful employees.

This store is awesome. Like any thrift store, you've got to do some digging to get to the good stuff, but I have consistently found awesome items here. Including: - 2 outdoor tables for my patio for $20 bucks and in great shape - Artsy prints of old school alcohol ads that go quite nicely in my place - A wooden drink cart that is the home to many adult beverages They also have an entire floor upstairs with clothes, shoes, and accessories. I love stopping in at this store, and you can even work out some deals with the owner and I've sold some stuff here too!

Today, Noel, Tony and I decided to go Urban Hiking in Nashville...so we went to West Nashville to some small shops located on Charlotte Av...and I am so glad that we did. We parked on the street and started "SHOP HOPPING" and we hoped into this store and "WOW"...I am so glad we did...this shop is amazing!!! There was an Elvis statue to greet us outside on the sidewalk. Inside there was some great rustic cabinets with glass pane doors for $250 in white and black....mental note saved!! There was these metal letters everywhere and they make them and turn them into signs to hang W H E R E V E R ...you want!!! They were really awesome!! If I had a place to display I would... The store was narrow but deep!!!!! They have some really great pieces. Used books, cds and albums and even some old 45 records..There was some really nice pieces for the avid collector. I will definitely go here again! I might buy one of those signs for something special...who knows!!!

Overprice closed not very neat looking

Really cool stuff if you want to buy trinkets certain furniture's chairs and light signs and of course there's LP's and 45s. But if you're shopping for clothes expect to spend some money

Beautiful dresser for $85! Couldn't be happier

Not that cool, not that weird. The variety didn't warrant the name and it's higher price items.

This place is mostly an expensive tourist trap. With stuff that I really did not find all that interesting. Bought nothing.

Cool place with reasonable prices. Funky stuff. Got most of the furniture in my tiny house from here. Very unique finds.

Phenomenal store, bought a 1970s playboy magazine, a growler, and a hipster shower curtain all for less than $10! Highly recommend

Very cool vintage clothing shop. Ever since Julian,…read more California when I bought some pieces of jewelry, my interest was peaked to come here cuz we had 30 minutes til we could check into our lodging. Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. Thanks Doc for driving again today and the afternoon caffeine.

It can be daunting picking where to go since you have never gone into that city or know the market. I visited on March 21,2026 Also, there is the question of selection, price point, and condition ESPECIALLY when buying vintage pieces. I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! Although I wish I spent more time looking at accessories! There were a few purses that I was swooning over now I wish I had picked one up. I will call tomorrow and ask if I bought it would shipping home be a possibility. The Hip Zipper DEFINITELY worth a visit if you are visiting Nashville.

Great purse selection!…read more I went here today, and there was a great selection of purses, good selection of clothes and jewelry, and a smaller selection of shoes/boots. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Prices seem to be about 35-40 for most things. I would recommend it, and there's a cute Dolly mural outside of it
