We took our dog there to have a lipoma removed from behind her left ear. The surgery was performed for $605.00 total. Her previous vet had said it was benign and not to worry about it. But when it appeared to be growing we decided to look into getting it removed. Our groomer recommended Placerville Animal Surgery for low cost and good results. Results have been fantastic. Our dog was fully recovered immediately after the surgery and hasn't looked back. She is as happy as a new puppy despite being over 8 years old!No problems whatsoever, hair growing back nicely, she runs and jumps and plays as she never did before. I called around everywhere and this place said they could do it for around $700. Thought it was too good to be true, but it wasn't. They not only cleaned his teeth and pulled the bad ones, but also removed a bump on his leg all in the same visit. They explained everything in a way I could understand, told me what to expect before and after, and gave Niko everything he needed to go home safe and comfortable. No hidden fees or shady stuff. I live in Sacramento, and drove about 45 minutes up to Placerville--and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. These guys are honest, affordable, and actually care about your pet. My Gracie, swallowed some sort of seed while I was on vacation and my parents were doggy sitting. Her spirit started to decline and I originally took her VCA in Rancho Cordova. I have pet insurance for her, but that place was truly extorting money for services. They even suggested to euthanizing her (Absolutely Not !) I ended up taking her home to figure things out. The staff was so helpful, and communicative about the documents for their diagnosis and to see if the surgery was something they could do. I immediately sent all of her paperwork and they were able to squeeze her in the next day. OMG, I wanted to cry ! I am so happy I had her surgery completed here. It was very fast I took her home the same day. The consult was $20 and I paid for surgery costs separately , all medication was $20 , but had to pay another $20 for the antibiotics, (which was not a big deal.) If I could give them 50 stars, I would. I cannot recommend Placerville Animal Surgery Center enough. I have been fortunate enough to not have been faced with animal surgery other than spay or neutering. That is until this week. My sweet boy Clark ended up with a bladder blockage. The vet local to me gave him excellent care, but when it came to surgery time, it was going to be $4000. I expressed my concern for that amount, and the next word I heard was euthanasia. I went blank. The thought was unimaginable for me. As I was going in a downward spiral, a friend recommended Placerville Animal Surgery Center. I immediately gave them a call and spoke to Gabby who is the owner and a vet tech at the facility. She quoted me $950 for the very same surgery. I literally felt as if I had just won the lottery. There was suddenly a bright light overshadowing the desperation I was feeling. To be clear, this is not a "you get what you pay for" situation either. Their vet techs and veterinarians are top-notch caregivers. They are extremely skilled in their field. I was provided detailed instructions on after care which was comforting and made me feel confident caring for my cat. It is clear that they truly love animals and are in the business of saving animals lives. In my opinion, they are all angels on earth. I could not afford a surgery with my previous vet. The surgery center actually did two for my cat. His bladder was so cut up and thickened that he ended up not making it anyway. But that was from years of my not taking care of a problem, NOT from the surgery center. Since that cat died, I have continued to bring my pets to the surgery center for dentals and other things... I have so much trust with this crew. They don't have all the fancy equipment that many of your more expensive vets would have, and they do not have the ability to keep your animals overnight. But he gives you his email to reach out to him if you have a concern. How many vets do that? The crazy hours and limited machinery are part of why they can keep the prices down. F**k this place and everyone that works there!! THEY KILLED MY DOG! They may be decently priced, but the price cost me the life I loved more than anything on this earth!! I took my dog there to get SAVED, and an hour after I got home he died...THEY KILLED MY DOG!! My dog got diagnosed with bone cancer a week ago, and 5 days after I got the diagnosis took him here to get his affected leg amputated to stop the spread because that's what my vet said needed to be done. This place did the amputation in just 2 hours, and sent him home 2 hours after his surgery...HE LOST A LIMB AND THEY SENT HIM HOME!!! THEY COULD HAVE SUGGESTED A HOSPITAL FOR ME TO TAKE HIM TOO AFTER! He needed to be monitored!!! I live an hour away from this place and my last day with my boy was me having to give him cpr to try and save his life when this unprofessional place should have recommended a hospital for him to stay at!!! My dog wasn't supposed to die..they were supposed to save him, not kill him. They refunded me half of what I paid "for my pain and suffering" verbatim that is what they said. They messed with the wrong animal mom here, I will do everything in power to receive the justice that I deserve!! So much so that We drive from Sacramento to Placerville for the high quality of care provided by Placerville Animal Surgery Center. Recently Dr. Raymond performed surgery on our 9+ year old Chihuahua for her breast cancer; Operation successful! She seems more energetic already, and she still has a stitch or two in! We still need to go in for our follow up and have those removed, but this five star review is not premature. Above even the world class care Dr. Raymond provides, we value his honesty. He is not going to upsell you to make money, and if his opinion is that a procedure is not ideal for that animal - taking into consideration procedural rates of success, age, health and other variables - he will advise against that procedure. Abdominal surgery on a Beagle who ate something he was not supposed to? Don't even think about going to a vet conglomerate and pay $9k. You need to go here instead. The team at Placerville Animal Surgery Center is amazing! Our beagle, Scout, swallowed the end of a spatula covered in frosting whole when it fell on the ground. Those of you with beagles and kids know what I am talking about. The spatula was not going to come out either forward or backward, if you know what I mean. The PASC team scheduled the surgery for the day of, stayed late to allow me to drive the 3 hours to Placerville and finish the procedure/ recovery, had all the medications and follow up appointments ready to roll on schedule. The team was great with care and exceptional with follow up to make sure that everything was healing normally. We even did our follow up appointments by phone and pictures. I can not say enough great things about this team and the mission that they follow for our pets. Without this team and their dedication and skill, reasonable pricing for pet surgery, and incredible staff, we would be on borrowed time with our beagle because surgery would not have happened.
