She went from perfectly healthy to on her death bed in two days... We went to two other vet clinics that charged outrageously and offered no payment plans or financial assistance. Her age disqualified her for any grants at UCD. There were no other treatment options- surgery or nothing, and I had already received an increase in my Care Credit limit specifically for this but didn't have enough after exam fees and diagnostics. We thought we were out of options. All Creatures SAVED HER LIFE! They were very fair and flexible as far as finances go and actually charged reasonable prices. Even more so, they offer a program called Cherry, which is basically a 'get now pay later' payment program. It's so simple and straightforward, and we literally got to choose exactly what the plan looks like. After running around with stress and anxiety, they were very quick with intake, and put her in surgery as soon as possible. The staff are SO ACCOMMODATING! The kindest and most understanding souls!!! We didn't want to leave her.. so we stayed. My fiancé requested to receive a call the second she comes out of surgery, and they let us come in immediately after even though it was the middle of the night. He stayed in the exam room and SLEPT on the floor with her while I slept in the car. Next morning she was supposed to be discharged but unfortunately had to stay all day to stabilize. And best believe we were there the entire time. They brought us refreshments and checked in on us regularly from 2am after surgery to 5pm when she was discharged. We bombarded the space the entire time and made home there as long as our girl was there. I know that's a little weird, but they did not care!! They were so kind and friendly, very understanding and genuinely compassionate. I wish they were not just an ER. We would love to come here for her primary care!

Rather than discontinuing treatment and conducting a thorough medical re-evaluation in response to these warning signs, the clinic continued the injections. I was not informed of the potential neurological risks, nor was proper informed consent obtained. These risks, as I later discovered, were addressed in the medication's prescribing information (which I was not given) and in an official FDA "Dear Veterinarian" letter concerning Librela's potential adverse events sent to veterinary providers. Bear's condition progressively deteriorated over just five months, from his first Librela injection to the end of his life. During that time, he went from enjoying regular trips to the lake or river and outdoor activities to becoming non-ambulatory, unable to stand or walk. His deterioration culminated in the heartbreaking necessity of humane euthanasia. The clinic's decision to continue treatment with Librela without an adequate re-evaluation or proper informed consent raises serious concerns about the care he received.

They provided a very thorough estimate that included all the same important pre-op and post-op care, but the total cost was around $750, with extractions priced at about $25 per tooth. Dr Tsai had diagnosed my little guy with kidney failure in mid July . Her bedside manner was absolutely awful but the reason I kept going were Dr Miller and the vet techs (Courtney and Jade) and front staff were amazing with my little guy. I took him every single day for about two months for them to give him fluids and treatment. I saw a rapid decline this past Friday night with him, but I knew that I had an appointment the following day and I text one of the vet techs, and she said for the doctor to take a peek at him. Well, the following day when I got there, the vet tech said she was gonna pull Dr Tsai aside in between her appointments. I'd even got there 45 minutes early knowing we may need more time. There was still an hour plus left to the day. I'm right outside the door to where they are and I can overhear the vet tech ask Dr. Tsai can I pull you for a quality of life for Beau. She said "I have no time for a euthanasia". I couldn't really hear what the vet tech responded but ultimately i was told Dr Tsai did a quick check and said he's not doing well but he will have to wait until Thursday bc there were no appointments, which was six days away. This would be for euthanasia bc that was the only time available. That did not sit well with me, but this was not the vet techs fault at all. Again - vet techs should be paid more and running that office, they care more. Dr Tsai could clearly see a rapid decline and a dog who was suffering. She had seen Beau a few times since July and there was absolutely no way she can dismiss the signs he was showing. Beau got his fluids and meds and we went home. I want to mention that When we presented to Dr. Tsai, Beau no longer had ability to use his back legs. He was lethargic. He had not ate and only drink water once. And she still decided to let him go home. That to me is some sort of violation of the oath that she's taken to be a doctor. I'm really upset still that he suffered an additional 24 hours before I ended up taking him to foothill Farms veterinarian where they kindly made time for him. Even though I was not one of their patients. Dr. gonzales there looked Beau over and said he definitely was in decline and she did a test for neurological problems that he did not pass that which means that he was suffering and in pain more than I knew. Had Dr. Tsai taken that time to do this quick check I would've taken him earlier to peacefully go. Foothill was so kind to my Beau and gave him a gracious and peaceful passing with dignity and respect that he DESERVED. I'm so disappointed in Meridian for allowing Dr Tsai to do what she does because it's obviously not the first time. Read the reviews. The negative ones are about her. I struggle with continuing care for my other dog here at Meridian based off of the lack of care and cold heartedness from Dr. Tsai. However, that may have worked in my favor because if she would've been as so coldhearted during his last hour of his life, I probably would've lost it on her. Everyone in that office has been kind, loving, compassionate, and friendly. I love Dr Miller and Dr Staam is great too. Courtney and Jade (vet techs) are the absolute best I've ever encountered. Jamie and Grace at the front desk are the best ever. Again. Everyone is great except dr Tsai. The swelling was getting worse and that's when I decided to make call to a local veterinarian, Jefferson Park Veterinary Clinic. They had no urgent care but pointed us in the direction of Folsom Ranch Veterinary Hospital. They calmly explained to me that getting Luna care was very important. They had availability since they're an urgent care facility so we made plans to take Luna. The hospital itself is located right off the freeway. It's beautiful inside. Very clean and welcoming. The friendly staff at the front desk got us checked in and we waited. They came and got Luna and told us they were going to get care started. The wait was a bit long but they were very busy with tending to other 4 legged friends. But they also constantly checked on us while giving us updates. The doctor came in to tell us that Luna needed an X Ray along with some other tests to determine the severity of her injury. She assured us that Luna would be good with them and under very good care. She encouraged us to go nearby and grab some dinner and before we know it they'd be calling with an update. My fiancee was still very nervous and had wished we could see Luna. Although we didn't see her I understood that this was normal. Flash forward an hour and 15 minutes we got a call that Luna was ready to come home. Thank God! We were still very nervous as we had not seen Luna since they're took her to the back but as soon as we got to the back room the doctor and assistant brought Luna In her little carrier. She was very subdued thanks to the meds they got her on. But she was calm and it was obvious she was extremely cared for. She had her left leg shaved to determine if there were any punctures or sting bites. But she was cleared to come home. I called the vet we are meant to see and they could not fit us in but recommended veterinary urgent care and Surgery in Cameron Park. I immediately just started driving there scared for my puppies well-being. While driving I called and they were able to get me an appointment right away, basically the time it took for me to drive there. They tested us from the car for parvo (thank god is was negative) so we were brought into a room. The vet tech was extremely nice, thorough, endearing, empathetic (as I was a blubbering mess worried about my tiny 4lbs puppy) she got her report ready and brought the dr in. He was even kind and empathetic to my worry and concern. We went over everything. From the day I got him to what possibilities it could be. They gave me options, information and we picked a treatment plan after an exam of my puppy. I was sent home with medications, directions and feeling so much relief that they cared for my dogs wellbeing and how I felt as an owner. Upon leaving and check out and the girls at the front came together to chat with us, and say goodbye. We talked a little about how cute he is his breed type and then reassured us to call if we need anything or have any questions. I will absolutely be a returning customer should an emergency come up again. Completely unrelated but when I went to grab my dog from the techs arms after they took him in back to give him a couple shots I could smell her subtle perfume(it smelt amazing) as we had to be shoulder to shoulder. I politely asked her what it was and she told me. Not vet related but something small / important to me. This small kind interactions made me feel like a real person to them instead of a ticket number.

I've put off leaving this review because I didn't want to do it without being able to give the full story, but it's so painful to relive. I brought my senior dog in because he was vomiting repeatedly. No signs of pain, but the vomiting was very unusual. After testing, they told us he had pancreatitis, which is apparently very uncomfortable for dogs, but not deadly. They examined him and they gave him a shot of Panoquel (sorry if this is not spelled correctly) and when they brought him back from the medication they gave him, he seemed to be visibly in pain. He was whining and breathing weird. They said it was normal and a sign of the medication they gave him and that it would wear off in 6-8 hours. We brought him home and we were instructed to come back the following 2 days for 2 more injections of panoquel. He was completely out of it and seemed in pain, but we were made to believe it was from the medicine and that he would be okay after it wore off. 6 hours passes and he is still in pain, not even really conscious. Then 8 hours and by this time the urgent care center is closed. I called the nearest 24 hour emergency vet and was instructed to bring him in by a certain time if he was still not alert. He was not able to eat or drink or pee at all during this whole time and I knew something was wrong and that it was not just the medicine they gave him. We took him into the emergency vet where he was immediately admitted and ultimately where he spent his final day. He ended up passing there that night because the pain was far too much to get under control and despite their efforts, he was suffering. We said goodbye to him after him being completely fine and normal almost 1.5 days earlier. I was shocked and couldn't believe what had happened. I ended up sending an email to this Cameron Park Urgent Care and Surgery center because it was not sitting right with me that my dog spent his last day in pain in a hospital because of what I am calling a bad judgment call. Champ was 17 years old and had been seen here before. His records were on file for his heart condition and previous visits. He was old and his body had had enough which is why I am not holding them responsible for the fact that he is not here, but I do blame them for the fact that he died in pain in a hospital surrounded by strangers and hooked up to machines. His last day will haunt me forever. They responded to my email very kindly wanting to help me with my original request which was to refund the treatment because the treatment did not work. The assistant manager actually called me immediately to say how sorry she was and that they would definitely refund the amount I requested or a full refund, whatever I was comfortable with and so I did request a full refund at that point. No amount of money would bring my boy back, but an $1800 bill from this place on top of the ER bill was astronomical. They did refund me ~$620 for the treatment which I was and am still very grateful for. They didn't try to fight me, they agreed immediately. Where it gets weird is when the assistant offered the full refund, that must have just been her kindness speaking because the owner did not agree to it and neither did the dr, Dr. Natt. The owner flat out said he was not speaking to me because he "wasn't involved" and only was going to have the assistant deal with me. Dr. Natt was willing to speak with me, but requested that I return to the vet to speak with him so he could explain why they wouldn't agree to the refund, but there was no amount of money that was going to get me back inside that place that I had experienced that level of trauma. It wasn't worth it. I sent one final email to settle this without needing to leave this review, but they declined my request for a refund. I ended up disputing it with my bank and winning so I got my money back anyway. DO NOT COME HERE. Save yourself and your dog the pain. Go to a 24 hour vet! They sent us home and then closed for the evening and we were forced to go somewhere else anyway. Go somewhere else from the beginning!
