Some of my earliest memories are spending hours and hours in the waiting room at the dentist as a child. My mother had always had trouble with her teeth and I can confirm she has spent more hours in a dental chair than most people will see through their entire lives. We were there so often that at 7 years old , I had a job filing paperwork in the office because eventually I ran out of toys to play with and books to read. My mom tried everything to save her natural teeth and my dad spent 10s of thousands in the process. Despite all this , those efforts were in vain as she ultimately opted to finally have her teeth removed and she was fitted for dentures. Unfortunately it wasn't until after her teeth were already removed that her dentist discovered she was not an ideal candidate for dentures as her bottom jaw was too small to support them. My mother , rightfully so, was horrified at the oversight on behalf of her dentist and desperately searched for options to correct this life altering mistake. When she discovered the possibility of all- on - 4 dental implants it was as if a light reignited within her. She for the first time in a long time , had hope - hope of regaining some sense of normalcy and self. I accompanied my mom on dozens of consultations from mission Viejo to Woodland Hills and everywhere in between. And I watched as that glimmer of hope slowly faded as each dentist had a different reason why they wouldn't take her on as a patient. Her jaw had lost too much bone density , her nerves were too close to the surface , her bone structure simply wouldn't support the implants - in the long and short the answer was no. That is until we met Dr. Jun and his incredible team at Placentia Oral Surgery. Never once did the words "I can't " leave his mouth. Being both an oral surgeon and a medical doctor , he was more than equipped to handle the complexities of my mom's case. After my first phone call I was sure this office was going to be a good fit for me. Everyone that I came in contact with gets 5 stars. Dr. Jum was kind, understanding and was aware of my anxiety. I needed to have 1 tooth extracted. The day of my appointment went perfect. I did not have any swelling, or pain after the procedure. Overall, the experience was fine. My issue is with the front desk. I was called 2 times on 2 different days asking if I can come earlier and I declined both times because of work. Then day of I get a call 15 minutes before my appointment asking if I was on the way. I let them know my appointment is at 1145 and will be there at that time. Do not rush me, I already said I couldn't get there earlier so why are you calling me other than to rush me? Walked in at 11:44. So glad I was rushed to get there to be taken 15-20 minutes later. Update: Called them back today to see if the pain i was experiencing was from natural healing or a dry socket. First thing out of the woman's mouth is, "this sounds like his mother." Great, thanks for basically calling me a girl on the phone. And thanks for infantilizing me as if a 36 y.o. can't call about his own health. Apparently there was drama between my mother and a nurse while i was under anesthesia. Not really my problem. What would you like me to do about it while I'm passed out. So i will certainly not be returning. Sounds like whatever my mom said to her was an accurate description. read more

So consult was good and straightforward. And quick. Doc maybe came in for 60 seconds. Lol. Simple extraction with only 1 tooth impacted and the other 3 wisdom teeth were already erupted. Day of surgery for my 14 yr old daughter...called me at 715a to tell me 730 surgery got moved due to emergency so come at 845. So okay stuff happens. Office staff was cool and professional with good bedside manners. Surgery was done but they wanted me to wait 10 more mins since my daughter was super emotional (crying) coming out of the anesthesia. I finally got back there and listen to the nurse given post op care instructions. My daughter didn't like the post nurse - said her beside manner was not good. Daughter said that she asked for me but the nurse said no because I would freak out at her reaction- which I would not have given her past experiences and I work on medical field. Anyways- biggest issue is the intake forms needs to be updated. My daughter hates pills and so when exiting I said I need liquid prescriptions but "it was too late." Doc never showed up to give a post op report. Done this for my other kids and both times the doc shows up to give a quick post op summary. Told the nurse I am not leaving until you change the scripts. She said let me go and talk to doc said sure. Waited for an hour to goto pharmacy and the change in the script was not received by the pharmacy so the pharmacy had to call anyways. Would I come back/recommend - 75% likely. Just seen better practices and doc relations. Doc called at 3p to checkin. read more

I stopped in on 08/03/23 as I had a referral from my dentist saying that Placentia Oral Surgery was a approved vendor through my insurance for a extraction and a implant. I wasn't quoted anything for my consultation. I had pictures of my tooth for extraction, met with dentist for consultation. A representative walked in discussed what I needed started to give me a bill for almost 7k. I informed her I had a referral from my dentist and that this was a covered surgery, she said oh, I was told that you had no insurance. I was informed via email that it would be close to 5k via my insurance and what was covered. On 10/27/23 I received a bill from the office for a $400 consultation and films. I went to Summit Smiles in La Habra. I was quoted $2800 for the exact same work. If you have "deep pockets" and money is no object then Placentia Oral Care is the place to go. Staff was friendly until they learned I had dental coverage to say oh, we need to inquire with what is covered and will email you then unlocked the back door to leave the facility. That should have been my first clue on how this was going to be handled. read more

I was not looking forward to having the procedure done, but everyone in the office made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I barely recall it getting started, and then was over! Amazing. The staff truly cared for her as she came out of surgery, making sure we had everything in place to support her once we got her home. And they even called to check on her later that day. Seriously can not recommend them enough! We were scheduled with another oral surgeon and got COVID right before the surgery. The day we could come back, the oral surgeon went on vacation. My husband was in agonizing pain, but we waited, as they said they'd squeeze him in. He came back and they said it would still take a few weeks to get him in. My husband couldn't eat or sleep anymore due to the pain and needed to be seen ASAP: I headed to Placentia Buzz and everyone recommended Placentia Oral Surgery. I called them, explained the awful pain my husband was in and he was in, and wisdom tooth was out, less than 24 hours later! Not only were they extremely accommodating to my husbands anxieties and fear, but they were so beyond kind! Since this was an emergency situation, we didn't have 100% of the funds available and they worked with us and we figured out a plan, which was amazing! I was referred to Dr.Jun for dental implants. Those implants turned into much more as during the process I lost two front teeth. Luckily I was already undergoing treatment as I was completely traumatized.Thanks to my general Dentist Dr Piroutek and Dr Jun they came up with a plan. Right now I'm in the middle of the process. If it wasn't for Dr.Jun and his fantastic staff I honestly would have lost my mind. I was scared, confused and in a lot of pain. They have been nothing but kind, caring and empathetic I was sure I was their most annoying patient LOL ! I've lost count of how many times I've called and came in for reassurance. I want to give a special shout out to Anita, Bernadette and Teresa. They have wiped my tears and made me laugh... no easy feat! Kudos girls I love you! I would not recommend this business because the customer service is horrible. The front staff is pushy and the doctor is quite rude and unprofessional. They up-charge anytime they can and sneak in hidden fees. They rope you in with X-rays but conveniently add on additional out of pocket "special" X-rays for an additional $400. The staff doesn't explain why- they just fast talk you while they press a ton of buttons on the screen while they nudge you to hurry up and sign. The whole process is pretty sketchy. Went in for a simple consultation and tried to get me to do an extra x-Ray for $400, not covered by insurance. It's not necessary nor is it part of the normal process of consulting for Wisdom teeth. I denied the scan several times with the doctor as well as the nurse who was adamant to convince me. Even after denying this scan, the nurse was still setting the scan up and making motions for me to do the scan not indicating that it was the $400 scan. Absolute scam of a place. BEWARE! They want your money and nothing else! I am a 21 year old woman and I was referred by my dentist to come here to see about my wisdom teeth removal. When I went, I was told we would do an X-Ray, but wouldn't be charged unless I went through with surgery. So I did the X-ray, they spoke with the Dr who said my bottom wisdom teeth were coming in so crooked that it would take two sessions to remove (meaning double the price). I was also told multiple times "where's your mom" and "why are you here". I am a 21 year old adult, my mom was at work, and I was there to see if my teeth needed to be removed I didn't understand why I was being treated like a kid that just wondered in from the street. Also he told me I didn't need to take out the top wisdom teeth only if I wanted, and when I told him okay perfect I don't need to remove them he then insisted that he could do something to them that would cost more money. All while his nurse was shaking her head (telling me to tell him no) every time he turned around. Then when my consultation was over I was forced to pay $400 for the X-ray even though I wasn't getting the surgery and they tried to make me schedule the surgery where I would pay in full. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Went to yorba Linda oral and Maxillofacial surgery who told me that I don't even has top wisdom teeth (just molars causing no harm), so there is nothing to pull no reason to take my money. And not surprised to find out that they were able to take out my bottom wisdom teeth in one go. He said my bottom teeth looked completely normal whereas the other Dr was telling me that my teeth are so insanely crooked that I would have to go to remove multiple times. This place would of had me paying over 5-7 grand in dental work! Overall worse dental experience of my life. I left crying because they didn't care at all about what I was saying. All they were worried about was the money. I was totally taken advantage of for being a young woman and them banking on me not knowing what I am talking about. Thank god I'm educated and knew a quack when I saw one. Instead of paying around 5-7 grand I payed 1. And I have had the teeth removed since this experience, it was a one time pleasant experience at yorba Linda oral surgery. They literally did it same day as consultation in 45 min. I was told I was only going to pay for my son's medication and anesthesia to get his wisdom teeth pulled since I had insurance. I asked the gal if she checked what I was covered for and she said yes. I payed my fee and signed my forms. My son got his teeth pulled on 12/26/23 and a few weeks later I got a bill for over 9 hundred dollars. Apparently, I had reached my maximum amount for that year. was never told I had reached my allowed amount, and had I known that, I would have waited a few days for his procedure.
