Movie in the park
Millea B.

Here to watch the movie in the park. Some of the grass is super squishy and wet. The staff that ran the movie had a little snack bar. There were also food trucks.

She was very helpful and answered a lot of my questions. For anything that she was not sure of, she quickly got me an answer same day or within 24 hours. She was very straightforward about the construction happening on site so I was Prepared before I toured the place with my daughter. Even though my daughter eventually chose to have her birthday elsewhere, I still greatly appreciate how kind Andrea was during my selection process. Thank you for your great customer service!

Coach Danny is a wonderful Ex Pro MMA fighter and pioneer of the sport who is great teaching hobbyists and as well as aspiring jiujitsu and mma fighters at all levels. SoCal Combat Club is great at not overlooking any one's training as Coach Danny is great at prioritizing all students some may have experienced getting overlooked at other gyms due to the sheer size of the classes and though there are plenty of high level jiujitsu and mma practitioners to learn and train with at SoCal Combat club the class size is the perfect amount as to not get lost in the crowd. This is a photo of me and Coach at an Amatuer MMA Compeition with a Dub VIA RNC. If you want to test the waters or jump right in for training to be a competitor, hobbyist, get in shape, etc SoCal Combat club under the tutelage of Professor Danny Suarez is the perfect place to do it for students of all levels and ages.

The What: If you want to learn striking, they offer kickboxing. If you want to learn grappling, they have Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). And if you want to be well-rounded, they teach mixed martial arts (MMA). The Who: The reason why you can learn such a wide array of combat sports is because of the owner and head instructor, Professor Danny Saurez. He is a true martial artist, having trained in everything from Judo and wrestling to Wing Chun and Kali. But of course, he is a world-class expert in BJJ, MMA, and kickboxing. As a former professional MMA fighter and a 4th-degree black belt in BJJ, he knows what it takes to win, having a versatile skillset and a strong championship mindset. But that doesn't mean you have to be a fighter to appreciate his teaching. Prof. Danny is one of the few elite-level instructors who is also an expert teacher -- he's physically talented, has real-world experience, and can adapt to each student (whether complete newbie or black belt) so they learn quickly. And the best part? He's funny, easy-going, and encouraging. The Where: The new SoCal Combat Club location in Anaheim is located in an industrial park, which is great because you don't get the random riff-raff who walk in and disturb a class like you would find at a strip mall location. It might be small-ish, but everything is new, clean, and well organized. And there's plenty of parking during the evening classes. Plus, it's close to the 57 and 91 freeways, so getting there is a breeze regardless of where you're coming from. The Why: There are many reasons to train here. You might start because you want to lose weight and get fit -- you will burn hundreds of calories per sessions, regardless of the style you try out. You might train because you want to learn how to defend yourself and your family or compete in amateur BJJ or kickboxing tournaments. But no doubt you'll stay because of the people. Prof. Danny and the SoCal Combat Club are so welcoming, supportive that it'll feel like you're a part of a family.

Half the…read moremembers looked like they were auditioning for a protein powder commercial, the staff was either impossible to find or looked like they'd just been informed of an incoming asteroid, and the locker rooms smelled like a wet gorilla had been marinating in onion soup. Then I found Fitness 19. It's smaller than most gyms, but that works in its favor. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. People actually come here to work out instead of sitting on a machine for 45 minutes scrolling through TikTok and guarding it like it's the Iron Throne. The place is clean, organized, and doesn't smell like a medieval battlefield after three days in the sun. Equipment is where it's supposed to be. Nobody seems determined to create chaos. My only complaint is that it isn't open 24 hours. Sometimes I get the urge to exercise at 2 a.m. after making poor dietary decisions and watching motivational videos that convince me I'm one workout away from becoming Batman. The pricing is reasonable, and they offer additional classes if that's your thing. Personally, I'm just a basic member, and the basic membership has everything I need. No gimmicks, no nonsense, no influencers filming workouts and then asking you to get out of their Oscar Worthy shot. For the first time in a long time,I don't dread going to the gym. That's probably the highest compliment I can give. 2 thumbs up.

From the outside it looks massive, and inside there are a bunch of trophies and pictures on the walls, which was cool to look at while we waited. The online waiver was easy and didn't take long at all. We had two courts next to each other and it didn't feel cramped, even as beginners. I liked that it still felt like we had our own space. But... there are definitely some things that could be better. There's a weird smell when you first walk in. You kind of get used to it after a while, but it's noticeable. The price was also kind of crazy , $42 for six people for one hour feels steep for what you're getting. The building feels a little outdated overall, and the restroom was honestly not great. The brown soap coming out of the dispenser was not it. Also, the lady at the front desk wasn't very friendly and rushed us off right when our time was up, even though there were empty courts. For what they charge, a little better customer service would make a big difference. We still had fun playing, but between the smell, price, and service, I'd say it's a solid 3 stars.
