When they didn't see my sister in law come downstairs quick enough, the nurse Julie, called the social worker and all but threatened my family with APS. No one ever asked to meet with us about my grandmother needing more around the clock care. We went to another hospice who confirmed that this was ridiculous. Even after we corrected them and told them that my grandmother actually wasn't alone (though she could be) they continued in the lie.

As their primary caretakers, we decided to place them in Board and Care when they could no longer stay by themselves and needed 7/24 monitoring. We enrolled them (my best friend and his wife) at Sacred Heart and monitored them closely for the first few months and have never regretted the decision or disappointed in the facility or the staff. The facility itself is located in a pleasant residential neighborhood and has been totally remodeled - very bright znd cheerful atmosphere. The staff really cares. My friend and his wife often expressed their thanks and appreciation of the food and care they received there. We were kept up-to-date on their condition . The facility took responsibility for obtaining and adminstering meds and cooperated with their primary doctors, nurses and hospice workers who were not affiliated with the facility and who visited regularly. I cannot say enough about the caring and professionalism of the staff. The adminstrator, who also provides patient care herself, is wonderful to work with.
