She had spoke with several in care providers but had settled on appointments with the top two companies in her mind. She set up an appointment for my older sister (from Iowa), step father ( in La Habra) and I ( from Nevada) to meet with Kyle. My family really felt comfortable with Kyle since he was very professional, informative and very caring. With our family logistics Kyle's company seemed very flexible in handling varied requirements at Donald's home. We had all agreed to sign up with Home Care Providers after reviewing a detailed proposal meeting our specific needs that Kyle drew up for us. Within days, unfortunately, Donald took a turn for the worst and was required to be moved to a 24/7 facility We just wanted to give a special thanks to Kyle for all his help.

Horrible horrible care organization. I'm very disappointed with the level of service provided by…read morethis home care agency. Over a 10-week period, they sent 9 or 10 different aides, making it impossible to establish consistency or trust--something critically important when caring for a loved one with dementia. Many times aides would call out at the last minute. Many of the aides were not properly trained to handle dementia-related behaviors and often seemed unprepared or uninformed about the patient's condition. One aide who was onsite for 3 weeks, finally decided to take some initiative (only when a complaint was filed with the organization) and then had one rough day with my mom who has dementia and then gave up entirely saying she couldn't "take the stress". Several lacked initiative entirely--some spent their time sitting on the couch rather than engaging or assisting with care. This lack of attentiveness and professionalism was deeply concerning. This caused me as mom's daughter to do things on my own for my mom and then this was cited as an excuse for them - "that you get frustrated and then do things on your own". Despite having full knowledge of our location and the fact that we have four cats (disclosed from the outset), the agency later cited "distance" and "pet presence" as reasons for their staffing issues. This feels like an excuse rather than a valid explanation, especially since they had all this information from day one and should have noted at the beginning that our location was not ideal for their service area. Instead of taking responsibility or working toward a real solution, the agency repeatedly pointed to false or inconsistent reasons for their inability to provide reliable service. The result was a stressful and frustrating experience during a time when stability and compassionate care were most needed. I would absolutely not recommend this agency to families seeking consistent, qualified, and compassionate home care - especially if you have a family member that requires special care.

We hired Home Instead so that our mother, who was in the hospital and disoriented, could be kept safe during the evenings. We were assured that this was something Home Instead could do, and we were assigned 2 different caregivers. Our family was taking turns during the day and we needed the extra help at night. We were required to commit to two weeks of care before services could begin. Of the six nights of care provided as of today, we have been informed that on three occasions, the caregivers fell asleep and snored so loudly that my mother could not wake them when she needed assistance. I had previously called to report a caregiver falling asleep and was told the issue would be addressed. Clearly, it didn't help. Additionally, my mother informed me (now that she is no longer disoriented), that the caregiver was making conversation with her and she felt like she had to entertain the person we hired - this, during a time when we need my mother to get rest. When I called Home Instead to cancel the service, I was transferred to the Director, who apologized and said that she would have a conversation with those employees, but offered nothing beyond that. I would not recommend this company. I feel like they acted in bad faith and didn't provide the service they told us they could, and instead of trying to make good on that promise, they were just going to have another "conversation" with their employees, which obviously does us no good. An unbelievably expensive lesson on our part. Never commit to 2 weeks of a service before you know that it will be delivered in the manner it was promised.

A c/g was quickly set up so she would be there once my husband returned home. We had 2 c/g's, Kyla & Sylvia, and we cannot speak highly enough of both of them. They became like family! When my husband became more self sufficient & we no longer had a need for c/giving, I actually cried when they left! Everyone at the agency was always caring, kind and helpful in every way. We cannot recommend this wonderful agency highly enough!

The first person they sent the first time my son ever had care was a self medicating diabetic who came to the job with low sugar and passed out. Paramedics had to be called. When I called them to say what happened they said they didn't even have emergency contacts for her on file. It took over a year for them to find another person who could come one day a week after school. I specified any day. But they never had anyone. When they did, she was great. After 2 months she said she couldn't come anymore. Another year goes by and they finally find someone. At this pointu sin was too thin due to ARFID issues. I explained to her we needed to get weight on him. I was taking a college class and when I would get home he'd be asleep and exhausted. Next day he said his legs and arms hurt. The next week I set up a nanny cam since I wouldn't be home. She was having my son do planks and other calisthenics!!!! She did t even ask if this was okay. I had her removed fromu son's care. Another year goes by and I finally find a friend of the family. So she jumos through their hoops for bothering process. Took her a month of CPR class. Orientation, etc none of which was paid. Then she starts watching son, I sign the timecards and 2 months later she has NEVER been paid!?? We have been back and forth and they keep giving excuses as to why they haven't paid her, trying to blame her and the regional center saying things I was able to prove as untrue. This is probably what happened to the other great lady that suddenly couldn't come. We kept calling and every week for 6 weeks we were told she'd be paid and then wasn't. So now she won't want my son because she hasn't been paid. This company is a joke! I don't even want to give 1 star. Shame on them for not paying their care providers.

My father passed away 2 months ago, and I feel I must write an update to my original review to show…read morethe impact the Agape nurses made on my father's last days. Excuse me if this review is long, but there are things I feel must be said. My father had 2 nurses visiting him every week for approximately one year. His primary nurse Susan and hygienic nurse Mei. I not only appreciate them for their friendly and professional care, and compassion, the way they interacted with my father returned some dignity that got lost ever since he became very ill. Doctors and nurses at other establishments stopped speaking directly to my father even though his hearing and mind are all there, and they turn to me for all questions and answers. They gave me all the forms and went through our meetings in an almost mechanical manner as if my father wasn't there. It is not their fault, but it broke my heart and felt my dad was slowly robbed of his dignity around medical professionals due to the illness itself. Agape was different from the rest. Susan and Mei both made conversations with my father like familiar friends, asked him questions, and when he was able, had him sign forms. If he can do it himself, why not do it? They built trust and confidence in my father, and he looked forward to their visits every week. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate the staff of Agape Home Health. Thank you!!

She had a nurse coming to follow up with her and was on IV treatment at the beginning. She received therapy and was supposed to apply for her DME, walker and shower chair who never arrived. We waited 4 months and nothing. Nurse wouldn't know and that home health will follow up. I never received any single call. We obtain a prescription from mom's PCP after tireless waiting and got it in the same day at a pharmacy. After few months while we were at work, the nurse was still coming once a week and will constantly received all the organic veggies that my mom gave her. We have a garden and is her life and part of her daily routine for years. We didn't know about this until mom will complain to us that she is tired and that the nurse doesn't do much but talk to her about personal life and complained that she didn't have good stuff to eat and wouldn't cook. Seems more like taking advantage of her generosity! We understand the care for patient, but It's not professional from a nurse to receive gifts from her patients, even if the patients insist. Especially from seniors that have other disorders. I reported this to Jessica the administrator and apologized, but sent us another nurse who didn't have her stethoscope, blood pressure cuff or glucose check. Our family is very disappointed with the unprofessional services received by the nurses and the DME that we never got with their help. We will not recommend this home health to friends or family.
