Time for a review update as my original review was in 2013 and many of the stores I mentioned are no longer there, and some don't even exist anymore :( Place d'Orleans is an enclosed shopping mall in the suburb of Orleans, about 20km east of Ottawa. It's not glamourous and doesn't have high-end stores, but is a decent mall. It has a drugstore (Rexall), a dollar store (Dollarama), and the usual retail stores and services you'd expect to find at a typical mall (clothes, shoes, cell phone providers, tailoring services, opticals, banks, etc.). They have a sizeable food court with mostly big chain vendors (think Thai Express, Tim Hortons, A&W, New York Fries, etc.) and a few independent businesses (Umi Eatery, Osteria Italia, and Shawarma Kitchen). In recent years, the mall did struggle but they are really making efforts to revitalize the mall and bring in more shoppers. In the summer of 2025 they had this great promotion where if you spent $25 at the food court and you took your receipt to customer service, you got a $10 mall gift card (there were a bunch of conditions, but I was still able to take advantage of the promotion several times). The mall also partners with different businesses to host pop-up markets. For the Black Friday weekend in 2025 the mall partnered with The Mom Market Collective and they had this fun pop-up market with foods and crafts where I got Nigerian food (from Mirabel's Yummies - it was my first time trying Moi Moi, a bean pudding with beef and I loved it. Their meat pie was great too. It was ground beef and had a subtle curry flavour) and fancy Turkish delight (from Z Baran Gourmet Collection, which was so delicious, not to mention very visually appealing). When I first moved to Ottawa I rarely went to this mall (as I considered it "out in the boonies" lol), but since my parents moved to Orleans, I'm out in this part of town more often and find myself at this mall more often. It's grown on me (or I'm more generous in my ratings in my old age, haha) so updating from 3 stars to 4 stars, for what it is, a functional suburban mall ;) There's lots of free parking. Ample amount of parking, the selection of stores has improved over the years, the food court definitely got a new facelift with a modern touch. During the holidays, it's a fairly busy mall. Service Canada has opened up which certainly brings in traffic. read more

I have been visiting this mall since I was a kid and it's been through big renovations and lots of change. I now visit with my mom friends and it's so nice to be able to park underground and take the strollers up the elevator and inside. Next to the Bay there is a big nursing/feeding room with 2 change tables, 2 sinks and 2 chairs as well as a joining washroom. There is also a separate family washroom. Aubainerie at the other end of the shopping centre also has a designated nursing/feeding room and a change table. They also have a small lounge area with couches and chairs. This is a great mall for stroller walks in my opinion. read more

I only venture to this mall when I want to get some mall walking in. Its a slower paced mall, that is excellent for families and for kids to run around. I do find more than ever, the stores to be lacking. Again, this mall is not a place where I would come to drop some money at, more to just walk around and kill some time. I do like their new food court layout. I love how its on the first floor, in the center of the mall, and there is plenty of seating. Just like others, I always get lost in this maze of a mall. read more

Hours aren't great and their selection of stores is minimal. Not the same mall it used to be that's for sure. They have moved the food court downstairs and it's far more accessible which is nice, however they really need to reconsider having Bath and Bodywork's and Body shop so close to their food court. It's horrible and if you're a person with allergies, you simply can't enjoy a meal there. Free parking is great and it's near the bus system. It's a MEH shopping centre now- and it used to my fave. Osteria Pizzaria at Place D'Orléans serves fresh italian food. Pizza dough is fresh and taste so good. I also like to recommend the spaghetti and meat balls. For dessert they have amazing tiramisu cake. read more

This use to be my favorite mall sadly now its St-Laurent as Orleans is smaller now hours are horrible, they have half the stores they used to have. Hopefully that will change in soon near future. read more

Overall a great mall if you're looking at avoiding crowds. This mall has always been quiet when compared to others such as St Laurent, Bayshore, and of course Rideau Centre. That being said, those looking for sales and deals may find them more at this mall. Mall hours Regular Hours Monday to Saturday - 9:30 am to 9 pm Sunday - 11 am to 5 pm The mall has a free play area for young children and also for the moms, a fully equipped nursing room with free diapers, privacy for nursing, and even a bottle warmer is located by the washrooms on the second floor food court. Stores include a large sport chek, the Bay, american eagle, GAP, please mum, jacob, EB GAMES, sunglass hut, miss tiggy winkle, spring, west 49, the childrens place, and many more of the usual stores. Some exclusive stores are the Sens Store, La Maison D'Or (jewelry), and Doucet (another jewelry). There's also a Tommy Hilfiger store that I'm starting to believe is an outlet cause they always have clearance sales. I like Place D'Orleans; I love the variety of stores. I do get lost in this mall! Although I don't like going through Sport Check to get into different parts of the mall (BTW wasn't Sport Check part of the Bay before? or some furniture store... but I digress.) I got hooked on Place D'Orleans when they had a yarn shop upstairs in the food court. Unfortunately that shop moved across the bridge to the Quebec side, survived many years under new management, then closed permanently about 1 year ago. But my main reason for liking Place D'Orleans is that it gives a fresh perspective from other malls, and a different outlook than in Kanata - even if some of the stores are the same brand. Is it me, or do stores offer different selection at different locations? Yes I think this is part of it... This mall is smaller than the St. Laurent shopping centre; it just depends what you need and how long you have to go get it. We used to come here once a year on an annual basis to go Holiday shopping, and I looked forward to it every year. I would definitely like to come back. read more

A cozy mall in Orleans. It has a variety of stores and a nicely renovated food court. With a variety of options from sushi to A&W to New York Fries, you'll find something the whole family will want to eat. The stores themselves are pretty small -- especially Indigo -- so it often feels like you're on top of people. They have a lot of clothing stores in here so I guarantee you'll find the outfit or shoes you're looking for. You also have your choice of parking underground or up near the SportCheck and plenty of bathrooms. While I like Place, I'll admit it was much better when I was a kid. The stores seemed bigger and they used to have a kid's play place that they took out which was really fun. read more

Mall is good for its location. I find many people complain that this mall is boring and dead but it really isn't. The mall is situated in a suburban setting so I don't really know what people expect.. It gets the job done and they have recently added a target and H&M is soon to arrive. One of the best OC transpo bus stations in ottawa. It's one of the major ones in the east end. The mall is right there and there is a park and ride at the mall, so you can park your car and take the bus. If you need to go away where in Orleans, then this bus stop has all the buses you'll need. Another great part is that you can buy your bus tickets and bus passes. It even has a place to take your photo if you don't like using the presto card. I swear, the layout of this mall was planned by a super genius. Who else would have thought to put the Freshly Squeezed next to the Cinnabon? I would go in there just for the Freshly Squeezed no other mall has one in Ottawa(but apparently St Laurent is getting one) and then while I'm drinking it, the fresh smell of the CInnabon always manages to lure me in and I get that too. Aside from that, the mall was pretty mediocre. read more

Tip Top Tailor in Place D'Orleans. The manager at this store is very rude and has no customer service skills. I went to the store late summer. The manager was condescending to every one of my questions, like I should already know the answers. He told me come back boxing week and everything will be 2 for 1 and he'd get me my whole suit (minus jacket and shoes) for 180. I went back boxing week and everything together was 270, and didn't even include the tie. He denied that he ever said anything to me. I asked for grey shirt, he told me that it doesn't go well with their ONE colour of vest (black). I asked if my groomsmen could wear suspenders, he said I was tacky and trying too hard, I asked to wear a bow tie, and he said that would look stupid, I asked how I could stand out as the groom and he said I shouldn't have to stand out, that it's fine for everyone to look the same. Then he put me in an all black outfit after telling him my wedding was at a botanical garden and will be VERY warm. Then he finally gave in and put me in a white shirt after telling him I wanted any colour BUT white. Then I said I looked like a waiter, and he said "what ? Orange looks like a pumpkin .. are we going to stop selling orange colours now?". He told me if I REALLY wanted to stand out, wear a jacket. I reminded him again that it would be 35 to 40 degrees at my venue. He said "you want to be comfortable ? Look at your wife in heels and ask HER if she's comfortable (she not wearing heels)...You're not going to your wedding to be comfortable, you're going to take pictures. Everything was a struggle and I was only in there 10 minutes. He rolled his eyes, he sighed and had no interest in making us feel comfortable or listening to a thing we had to say. One of my groomsmen walked away because he couldn't stand this guy. All in all, one of the worst experiences shopping I've ever had. Went to Moore's and they treated us like kings and discounted us large. Done and done. read more

I have to echo Cameron R's sentiments - I like this mall! I remember shopping here as a teenager, but it had been over ten years since I visited the mall until I moved to the east end a few months ago. Now I seem to end up here a few times a week! My main love at this mall is their exceptional Target (which has it's own review!), but there are a few other great stores here, one being Maurice's which I love (the only other Ottawa location is at Carlingwood). I actually don't find the food court here that bad - I love Tacos del Mar, and appreciate that there's a sushi option at Sushi Shop. No, this isn't the new Rideau Dining Hall, but I don't think it's that bad. Also love the Freshly Squeezed here! Washrooms are always clean, if a little oddly laid out. My friends with kids appreciate the changing/feeding rooms. This mall is really accessible for parents with strollers. I always see parents there with little ones! Yes, there are a lot of teen dream stores here like Justice (I didn't even know this was a thing until shopping for a friend's 8 year old...), Garage and Aeropostale. But there are also a lot of great stores if you poke around, and they still have an HMV which is fun. My one fault with this mall is the layout, as Jennifer P mentioned. I ALWAYS get confused or lost, especially when you have to go through the Sports Check to get through the Food Court (what what whaaaat were they thinking?!). Best mall in the City! I love shopping here because they have everything I need all in one spot and I don't have to go driving around town. Most of the stores have great customer service because they can take the time to help you instead of dealing with all the other customers that you get at places like Rideau. I found my complete summer outfit in one trip. I went to Footlocker, Tommy, Ecco, and American eagle! All of them had amazing Service. I got two pairs of kicks, jeans, some polos and shirts and I even had time to hit up the foot court! Great food at Taco del Mer! I'll do all my shopping there from now on. Can't wait till the new Target opens thats gonna be awesome. read more

My family and I went to get some shoes for back to school . We were having a hard time finding some in my sons size, but we were not going to give up, as we have ALWAYS gone here. He liked a few so we wanted to see if they had any of them in the size he needed. We had asked 3 times for a size in different shoes, by the 4th he told us we were better off going to another shoes store in the mall. One of the managers was informed and he did not handle the situation well. I told him that I was just advised to spend my money else where. He replied with he is new and they get asked all day the same questions and know what they have an done. If that was the case, why wouldn't he tell me what sizes he DID have. And why did my son find 2 sets in his size? Wow. Well I think I'll take the shoe guys advise, and spend my money elsewhere. That's 4 sets of shoes twice a year plus boots I was just told to shop elsewhere for. read more

This mall is a very boring place. The mall contains a lot of stores that seem to be empty and really are unnecessary. They recently added a Forever 21, H&M and a Bath and Body Works which are really the only stores that ever seem busy. Besides that the other stores seem to be very boring. The entire mall is due for a renovation. Rideau, St Laurent, and Bayshore all went through renovations to make the mall better but Place d'Orleans seems to be stuck in the past. The tile is beige and looks dirty, the lighting is quite dim and feels inclosed. Even some store fronts could be renovated. They recently decided to undergo renovations to move the upstairs food court to the centre of the first floor. What improvements they expect to see with this change I do not know, but for the time being it has made moving around the mall much harder. You can no longer go through the middle section which connected the two sides. Now in order to go from store to store people mostly need to go all around the mall. Upstairs is also mostly blocked off, so going to the food court which is still located upstairs is challenging. Though I do live in Orleans, I would rather go the extra kilometres to go to St. Laurent or even the Rideau Centre for an overall better shopping experience. read more

This is my 2nd favorite mall. It has a good amount of stores i like, including an H&M. The ambiance though- it always feels empty and is particularly cold in the summer. Food Court is decent. It has a good selection of fast food chains, including Subway, Kfc, and Taco Bell. I recommend checking this place out, especially in November when they open a Forever 21! read more

This is one of the worst malls in Ottawa but I go here everyday because it's one of the only closed in places to hangout with my friends in Orleans. I like the new renovations but they need to do it throughout the mall not just the food court. They also need to get some better stores. Some stores barely anyone goes in. I've gone to place for about 10 years and I've never even bought or been in certain stores. I buy things from Ardenes, Eb Games, Claire's, Laura Secord, Booster Juice, The Food Court, Husdons Bay, Boathouse, H&M, Bath and Body works, American Eagle, Dollarama, FootLocker, Garage, Ecko, La Senza, Kernals, and Visage and same with my friends other then that we do not shop anywhere else. Neither there friends or family. The rest of the stores barely anyone goes in and they need to get other stores because everyone goes to other malls because those stores are there like Zumiez and Lush and Apple and Sephora etc read more

The mall itself is okay but the woman bathrooms are absolutely disgusting..I couldn't even use the first ones I tried(near the indigo) as every toilet was smeared with Urine or feces. The second attempt in the bathroom in their new food court was just as bad!! I in no way blame the mall staff but the people who are shopping and are beyond disrespectful to the property! I feel absolutely disgusted and horrible for the cleaning staff, they should not have to deal with this type of unnecessary and unsanitary mess!!! read more

This is the only mall in Orleans. I take my granddaughter there a lot and she loves it. They have a lot of those rides for kids that cost $1 for a few minutes. The kids can ride a dinosaur, a merry-go-round, or even Batman's car. These rides are all over the mall. I bet they make a lot of money. I take my granddaughter to Mrs. Tiggy Winkles and she loves it there too. Then we get some burgers at A&W in the food court. It's a good mall for kids. They don't have a play area like at Carlingwood Mall though. They should put one in. It's pretty quiet on weekdays. read more

Average or below average mall. Shopping selection is geared to tweens and teens. I personally barely shop here. The only thing that brings me here is the Sportcheck superstore. It's huge and selection is excellent (although service is nonexistent). There used to be better shops - Benetton, Club Monaco, Fancy Sox - but all closed up and left. Even The Gap was shut down. I would probably find this mall exciting if I were 13 years old (Garage, Ardene, Aeropostale, Bluenotes, Dynamite - you get my drift). There is nothing upscale and absolutely no known or international companies. And if you're hungry - a very dismal, sad food court awaits. read more

I LOVE his mall. I'm a little biased considering I live so close but I used to live near St-Laurent and I didn't love it as much as Place. Compared to Rideau, place is pretty "dead". But it still has a good amount of customers for the mall to stay open and make profits. There's a new H&M that opened and we're getting a Forever 21 there as well. There's an EB Games that's excellent with awesome workers and there's a hair salon, SportChek and a food court that's ACTUALLY pretty good and diverse. You often see security guards patrolling around which makes you feel better and there's a guest services area right smack in the middle of the mall. I honestly love this mall. There could be a couple more plus-size stores (There's currently 2 stores that offer + size in a small corner) but that's more of a store that wants to rent and go into the mall. Otherwise it's a great mall. LOVE IT. read more
