Tonight we ate at PJW Creole at the Kalamazoo Farmer's Market. We are former graduates of Kalamazoo College and love the city here. Thank you for a great night of live music and friendly faces! Tonight, we gave business to the burrito company, kettle corn, tamales, samosas, ice cream, cotton candy, the fruit stand (strawberries and blueberries from california), and a lot of other businesses. We are also becoming regulars at Pizza Katerina and were glad to see them there! However, The only company that scammed us was the creole truck where we ordered the gator bites. (PJW Creole) Everything else was wonderful. Only that one business was a bad experience for us. This company was giving everyone heaping containers of food. We got literally three nuggets when we paid 12 bucks for gator bites. That wasn't cool when it became obvious they were scamming. read more

I'm always a huge fan of the po-boy here. I seriously haven't had a better one anywhere, including New Orleans. But today when they were at Final Gravity in downtown Kalamazoo, I also had a chance to try their crab boil, and it was absolutely amazing, too. Between four of us we polished off half-sized portion of the boil (crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage and veggies served in a giant ziplock bag with about a quart of buttery, herby goodness), a po-boy and a small order of pasta jambalaya, and even after having spent the afternoon moving them from their apartment into their new home, we were all stuffed to the gills on less than $50 worth of food. So good. So messy. So many napkins! I had been so excited all week to have one of my favorite food trucks setting up shop outside my favorite brewery, and the experience surpassed even my already lofty expectations. I was a little worried when we arrived at the brewery and there was only one table worth of people there, but for the next couple hours it was a non-stop onslaught of folks coming to take advantage of the tremendous Cajun culinary experience. Some folks were pulling their cars right up next to the food truck and waiting in the road for their po' boys. The staff here does a great job dealing with busy situations, and always seems in a great mood whenever I see them at food truck rallies or other events. read more

I love food trucks. I love the dedication that goes into successfully operating one, and I love supporting local small business. With PJW Creole, it was love at first taste! I'd heard good things about PJW for awhile now on social media, but fates conspired against me trying it out. Finally, he was in a location near me during a time when I had free time! So off I went! I'm gonna get right to the meat of the matter, no fluff. PJW is a small, kind of low key looking food truck. Feels very small townish, in a good way. Nothing fancy about the setup and thats not a bad thing. Although they get a kudos for using biodegradable takeout bowls! I ended up ordering the Pasta Jambalaya. It's a different take on the jambalaya that I'm used to, but it sounded interesting so I chose it. MAN, did I make the right choice! The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious, and the meats (chicken, ham, and beef sausage) were perfectly distributed throughout the dish! My partner in crime ordered the red beans & rice with beef sausage and that was scrumptious also. PJW definitely has a new fan and a repeat customer in me. Anytime he pops up near me, you can bet I'll show up. I recommend you do too! read more

Hit up their food truck at Bronson Park, and these guys are the truth. Easily the biggest shrimp Po'boy I have ever had and one of the best. I really respect the use of jumbo shrimp when a lot of people would go cheap and use popcorn shrimp. Tasty remoulade sauce, gigantic perfectly fried shrimp, and a huge pillowy soft roll of bread to hold it all in. Go find these guys and get to eating!!! read more

Chased down this food truck today to give it a try. Actually didn't have to chase it too far, found out where it was at through their Facebook page and headed in their direction. I was not disappointed. Had a really good shrimp po boy. Picked up some red beans and rice that I'm going to warm up for tomorrow. And had pasta jambalaya for the first time. It sas a little bit spicy, but tasted so good it was worth a little bit of burn. Keep in mind I don't typically eat spicy food. I'm definitely going to be following them around town. read more
