Shrimp tacos and clams and oysters
Christiana F.

We stumbled upon this place while trying to find dinner (on vacation, large party, no reservation). They have a large parking lot which is such a perk because so many restaurants are on the street or have valet parking (which we found so weird). They accommodated 8 of us for dinner swiftly. My husband got clams and oysters and got the shrimp tacos, which were surprisingly not upcharged just because of the shrimp option. Food was very good! And they gave us to go cups! Would recommend for anyone looking for a chill vibe.

Pj's Oyster Bar in Gulfport was damaged by the hurricane and I hear tell it won't reopen. So I made the trek to this location in Indian Rocks Beach. 1dozen raw Oysters, 1 dozen Chicago style baked Oysters, and 1 vodka martini for $60 (including tip). Not bad except that the Chicago baked oysters were not very good. They actually tasted like they had been in Lake Michigan! I lived in Chicago for 57 years and never heard of Chicago Oysters while I was there, only east coast or west coast oysters. Next time I'll stick with the raw oysters. My dinner companions tried baked scallops and scallops in a garlic butter wine sauce. Both dishes of Scallops were tasty, well prepared, and presented.

The decor is fun for the eyes but the smell of sewage takes away from the experience. Service was fast and friendly. Fried beer batter sandwich was a large portion but lacked any flavor, not even the fish itself. Super bland. Also, when I bit into it, water poured out from under the fried batter leading me to wonder, was this fish frozen?? Fresh brewed sweet tea was spot on.

Snow crab dinner

Highly recommend PJs. As a party of 9 , we had plenty of room at the tables. The neon lights, license plates, dollar bills on the walls make you feel like you are right now the beach. I've been coming for over 20 years and I've never had a bad meal. I got the snow crabs last night and they were BEYOND MEATY. you received two fat clusters and two sides. Waitress was friendly and made sure our drinks were always filled. Food came out in a timely manner too.

I am a huge sucker for oysters and I was so excited to try pjs oysters! I will say I was a tad disappointed when I got my baked oysters. The taste was great, super flavorful, but the size was tiny. I've ordered baked oysters for a while now, and I'm comparing them to others pjs was very average. Now the service was great and we had a super attentive server. We were sat immediately on a Saturday, early evening, which was a plus as well. I've been to pjs a few times and I have never had any issues with the services, but the food is usually sub par for what I am looking for. When it comes to the ambiance and the atmosphere of the restaurant I love it! It is retro and gives dive bar vibes! I still stand by one of their best meals is their grouper sandwich!

We wandered into Guilty Sea Sports Pub on a Saturday afternoon when just about every other Indian…read moreRocks Beach restaurant and bar was full to capacity, or at least their parking lots were full (if you know the area and how hard it is to park on a weekend in-season, you know what I mean!) We were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant busy, but not at capacity, so we were seated and served quickly. Brenden was excellent -- friendly, funny, full of spot-on suggestions in terms of what to try in terms of food and drink. What did we like best? The WINGS! We ordered 20 wings with their mild Buffalo sauce for the four of us and barely finished the plate -- their wings are meaty and very tasty! I also took a chance on their Beer-Battered Flounder sandwich and came away very pleased. The breading was light and flavorful, the fish was perfectly cooked, and it was all presented beautifully. Also, don't sleep on their seasoned fries! In all, we spent a good two hours at Guilty Sea enjoying the food and the relaxed atmosphere. This place doesn't play when it comes to being a sports bar -- TVs all around the bar and on the walls to catch every game on at any time of day. Would definitely be a great spot to catch pay-per-view events like UFC. They keep it a little cold in there because of its proximity to the beach, so bring a hoodie if you get cold easily, but I suspect once we get to the summer months that won't be an issue at all. Great experience -- we'll be back!

I can't comment on the food as I don't think they serve food but they have a cigarette machine…read more Does that count as food? I think it was $12 a pack. Well if you don't like smoking, don't come here. We don't smoke and had to wash our clothes immediately and shower before bed. Was it worth it? Yes. It's an interesting mix of folks but the common thread is everyone wants a good time!! Our server was amazing!! I'm not sure if they have karaoke every night but they did on Friday and it was a hoot! We'll be back!!!

This is a smoking bar so there will be sometimes people smoking cigarettes, cigars or black and…read moremilds but they tend to open the doors (from the front and back) and have the AC running constantly. The bartenders dont take shit but are very caring and sincere. If you come here make sure you show your ID to the bar when you walk in as well. The bathrooms are always clean and if someone goes a little too hard and makes a mess, just mention it to Gina and she'll handle it in between quickly. There are a lot of regulars but 99.9% are welcoming from the front by the stage to the back of the bar stools. Drinks are cheap, I believe its 2$ beers and you can bring food in from outside if you are hungry (or door dash). The KJ (kareoke dj) is fantastic and one of the best in the business. Johnny will adjust the sound settings and mic to make sure you sound good, just don't say, "f*ck" on the mic and youre good. Its a house rule given out by the owners of the bar and is the only word you can not say on the mic. If you want to sing, just talk to him and he'll put you into the rotation with some amazing singers and some more entertaining ones. Everyone here just likes to unwind and have a good time, there's an atm if you need cash or want to tip cash and a cigarette machine that works. Ive been going here for years and many of the nights feel as if one is at a concert lineup with the talent that walks on and off the stage (Holden, Dom, Johnny, etc). As a woman ive felt very comfortable at this bar but also if you leave your drink unattended, Gina the bartender will make sure when you walk away that its moved to where she can get better eyes on it while you step out. Theres sports constantly playing on half of the TVs (about 6 or 8 total) that show hockey, football, and whatnot. Theres one pool table and you need quarters but the bar will give you change. Kareoke nights are tues 8 pm - midnight, fri. and sat. are 9 pm - 1 am. On majority of major holidays (Halloween, fourth of July, st Patrick's day) this place will have kareoke on a non kareoke day as well. If youre not sure and want to check just call the number from the Google listing. Lastly, if you want to do kareoke, be respectful to the kj, his demeanor can be sweet or grumpy like squidward but he is genuine and will do his best to make you look good. On occasion he'll sing with you if you need a duet partner and he is very good!
