The last day I was at home, at the Surf Shack in Pensacola, Sir Hubbers & I ordered a giant brekkie to go as we were leaving to drive back down to St Pete. We had never been to a "PJ's" but we knew they were out of New Orleans & we thought we would give it a whirl. So, we just started ordering all kinds of stuff for the roadtrip LOL. We got $106 worth of Coffee's, iced teas, iced strawberry matcha drinks, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, beignets, the regular sized ones and the bites. Unfortunately we didn't like any of the food. The beignets were the only thing that was good & Sir Hubbers forget to order my order without sugar so I only ate one to try it. Way too much sugar for moi. I like them plain & he just forgot to sans the sugar for me. Bummers OuiOui. Anyhoo, the surprising thing was the Iced strawberry matcha drinks. We got all the toppings they offered lol It was way too sweet for me so I poured my espresso shot in it & I loved it OuiOui. With all that sugar, I drove all the way to St Pete without getting sleepy lol. I'm glad we got the unsweet iced green teas as a back up bc they were also fabulous. Skip the food. A friend recommended PJ's coffee; he said he preferred PJ's over Drowsy Poet. So, I decided to meet a friend here for coffee. This is a New Orleans style coffee shop so naturally I ordered beignets along with the specialty iced coffee I tried. Everything took a little longer to be served than most other coffee places I've patronized. The coffee was really good, the beignets were pretty good, and the service was acceptable. The Mardi Gras motif is fun and creates a festive atmosphere for folks enjoying their order in the dining area. On my second visit I learned they have a loyalty program, but only found out after paying for our order. This visit we had coffee and king cake. The king cake with cream cheese was really good. The coffee once again was good, too. I was told there was no way to get credit for my purchase since I already paid. Oh well... Prices are on the high side. More than Starbucks or Dunkin for sure! But better than the competition; I guess you get what you pay for! read more

PJ's Coffee was a hit for me solely because of their unique flavors! I stopped by this place twice while i was in town. I went through the drive through. The cashier's were friendly. My ultimate favorite drink was the bananas foster iced latte. It was the perfect balance of sweetness but not too sweet. The pralines and cream latte was good too but i preferred the bananas foster iced latte. I would definitely get that again. My hubby wanted the Voodoo energy drink and he said it was good! I wasn't able to go inside but next time i want to go and try their treats. They all looked so divine. If you're in the area, def give them a try! read more

Thrilled to report that PJ's Coffee is absolutely delicious! I am a coffee lover through and through and do not drink Starbuck's or Dunkin routinely because as we all know, Small Business is the best kind of business (& I have to have my coffee before I even leave the house)! My sister told me about PJ's and recommended the Butter Rum Latte. Although it wasn't on the menu when it was requested, the staff made it happen. It was absolutely delicious! PJ's is comparable to Scooter's or 7Brew. Service with a smile and coffee made to order for, yet still, a cheaper price tag than Starbuck's. There is also a rewards program for frequent guests! I've been here about 3 times, and it's been nice each time. The first two times were in store, and the third time was through the drive thru. My hubby said that it's a longer wait compared to most coffee places, but we weren't in any hurry. I got the Peppermint Bark Velvet Ice, and he got the Butter Rum Latte. My experience here today LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER THEY OPENED has been excellent. Was service on the slower end as everyone is getting acclimated, sure it was, but that is expected when a place has been open less than a week and all are in learning/training mode. We ordered 3 beignets, a birthday cake granita, and a cold brew with cold foam and sugar free white chocolate. The coffee flavor was excellent, much better than a watered down Starbucks drink. The beignets are amazing, warm, soft, and sweet. The inside is set up great for hanging out, or doing work, and was nicely decorated and clean. There were 2 baristas working. Ryan took our order and was very kind and working hard to keep the place clean and get the orders right. Reviewers, please keep in mind this place is new. Give it a few visits and have some patience before blasting a newly opened business online with negative reviews. My son and I enjoyed everything and will be back. read more

I love the PJ's I've tried in other locations, so imagine my delight when I learned a new location opened up in Pensacola! Unfortunately, my experience was anything but delightful. If I could give zero stars, I would. SERVICE: There was one car ahead of me in the drive-thru; it was 10+ minutes before I hit the pick-up window. Maybe that should've been my first clue that this wasn't gonna be an awesome experience. Waiting is a fact of life, but generally it's nice to hear from service personnel that they're sorry you waited or they're grateful you waited - whatever. Didn't hear that, but I *did* almost get charged double for my breakfast sandwich and coffee. When I questioned the amount, the *real* waiting began. Side note: I felt sorry for the people in line behind me, but it seems like waiting an inordinate amount of time is par for the course here. No less than four employees consulted about how and why the order amount was wrong. More time passed. I was asked what my order was, and repeated it back. More waiting. Meanwhile a different employee asked me if I had a different food item sitting in a bag at the window. Another asked about a different drink. Nope - not mine. Finally, I was charged the right amount and hoped that the food and drink would be worth the (massive) wait. Spoiler alert: It was not. FOOD: My bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was barely edible. I wish I'd taken a picture - the top biscuit was the size of a silver dollar - way too small to cover the overdone "egg" and paltry, undercooked bacon. Plus, the biscuit was tough (overcooked) and chalky. Yuck. I ordered caramel flavoring with my coffee (and repeated my order at the pick up window during the payment debacle) and ultimately received just a plain old coffee. Yuck yet again. AMBIANCE: About the only good thing about my experience was I was in the comfort of my own vehicle. TL/DR: Really wanted to love this new location, but wasn't given anything to love. Super disappointing experience, PJ's. A waste of time and money. Word to the wise: wait about a month or more to visit - hopefully they'll have their stuff together by then. ‍ read more

First time checking out this place. Nice coffee shop with great friendly service. Easy to find. Plenty of parking outside. Tried their beignets for the first time. Kinda like a funnel cake except it was in a shape of a pillow. Also had their granitas. All good. Will come back to try other menu items. read more

I was hesitant to try since it's more of a "chain" than other coffee shops in the area but I'm so glad I did! It's now my favorite coffee shop in Pensacola. The drink menu is huge and the espresso (I got a King Cake Latte) was delicious. The food menu is not as expansive so I would recommend just going for coffee. One of the best parts was how clean it was - the bathrooms especially! I'll be back for sure. read more

The ambiance and service were very nice and professional. It felt like a mix between Starbucks and Coffee Guy and had ample amounts of seating. All areas were clean, and the staff was friendly and answered my questions. The beignets were fantastic, and I'll definitely be back for more of those. But, the coffee. I'm an avid caffeine lover, and the coffee experience is all about adding complimentary flavors to enhance the already deliciousness of the coffee. It was my first time here this morning, and the coffee was so sugar-packed that I only got a few dips in. I implore you to tweak your recipes or add a 1-2-3 flavor/sugar rule to not overpower customers' tastebuds and give a little more options in that arena. On a 1-2-3 scale, the sugar content was definitely past 3 for me, and I like my coffee around a mid-level of sweetness, but it was overpowered. The most known coffee drink is a cappuccino! PJ's in NOLA is good. This shop can not even make a simple cappuccino! Its supposed to have equal parts espresso, milk, and foam. I got a cup of milk with a shot of espresso! read more

My husband and went to PJs for coffee, the store is beautiful inside, however, the service is absolutely bottom of the barrel. There were 2 employees working and they had absolutely no system; no one working the coffee machine. It took us 20 minutes to get a latte and we were the only 2 in the store. I ordered 2 hot oat milk lattes and finally when we received them, they were sweet; the employee stated he put honey syrup in it (I didn't order honey syrup); when I brought this to his attention, he refused to remake the coffee but ended up refunding our money, I wanted it remade but they wouldn't do it. I told the staff that Starbucks would make it right because the barista always wants to please you, she said "I don't care". I said I am going to give Starbucks my business in the future, she said "good, because I don't care". WOW!!! And I think she was the manager. I really wanted this place to be great because it is close to our office, but I will continue to be a really great Patron of Starbucks and Drowsy Poet. I don't see PJs making it with this kind of service and attitude. read more
