We were not wrong, the line was to the door. The slogans on the walls and everything in the restaurant was neat and well organized. I read the two comments on the chalk board and my expectation for high quality food increased significantly. Sadly, that would be it. Two registers looked available, but only one was working. The guy taking orders seemed new and friendly. Unfortunately, his conversation tended to move away from taking orders and trying to make small talk with the customers. This made waiting in line borderline intolerable, especially with the child behind me jumping up and down on the wall leading to the register (thank goodness one of the parents finally made her stop). Once at the register, it seemed that the guy was new (or newer) and struggled with the orders a little bit. After repeating my order a few times, he got it. We went to the "Jam Bar" for coffee and water. The sweetener was almost out, there was no cream and one urn was out (the lady was prepping the empty urn for new coffee). I commented about the cream, but was completely ignored by the employee. Another employee came up and I asked her about the cream. She pointed at the 4-5 single serve creamers there and said that was it. I asked about the metal pitcher and she said, "Oh yeah, that has some too." I told her it was empty. She looked confused and then picked it up and left. So, I just served old coffee in my cup that I had to go find since no one offered it to me ($3.50/cup, I would have assumed it would be pristine, but not so much and no one seemed concerned). Now to the meal: I ordered the Vicious Benny and Old School Breakfast. The Vicious Benny was mediocre at best. The ham and hollandaise were good, but the biscuit was grainy and the over easy egg was runny and a little slimy. And there wasn't a whole lot of taste to the meal. The OS Breakfast was much better, but still not a lot of flavor. The bacon was pretty good and flavorful. The eggs and potatoes were cooked well, just no seasoning. Overall, such a sad experience. Maybe my expectations were too high based on what I saw and the crowd when I went into the restaurant.

I asked to cancel the order, but the employees said they couldn't do it in-store--I had to cancel through the app. However, the app directed me to cancel in-store, leaving me in an endless loop with no resolution. I ended up reordering at another location and figured I'd call the next day to request a refund. When I did, the manager was incredibly rude. She repeatedly told me to "calm down"--even though I was speaking normally and politely--and then abruptly hung up on me. Instead of helping, she refused to process the refund and vaguely suggested I could "come in and get a sandwich," completely ignoring the fact that I had already purchased food elsewhere. This wasn't the first bad experience. Two weeks ago, I arrived at 8:30 PM (they close at 9), but the workers told me they were done for the night and wouldn't let me order. So now, I've tried to get food from this location twice and still haven't received anything--just a wasted trip and frustration both times. Between the lack of customer service, rude management, and overall incompetence, I won't be returning to this location. If you're considering ordering here, be prepared for inconvenience and frustration. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. 1/5 stars (only because zero isn't an option)

The burger was very good, but the Cajun fries were over seasoned (which is saying a lot, since I grew up around here and like things really spiced up) and soggy. I ate about half the fries, and after finishing the burger, it felt very heavy in my belly all night long. The counter service is fast and friendly, the menu is vast, with a LOT of variety - sandwiches, po-boys, comfort food, seafood, salads, pizza - something for everyone. And the food is good. Not the best you've ever had, but it's good. We came here this time specifically for the fried mushrooms. They are really good. Everything else was okay. The fried fish was good - nicely breaded, mild catfish (no muddy taste), and good crispy fries. The shrimp remoulade salad is kind of puzzling, though. Small, unseasoned boiled shrimp on a pile of lettuce. After being boiled with no seasoning, the shrimp are then heavily coated with red pepper (or maybe Cajun seasoning). And the remoulade sauce is in small condiment cups on the side - barely enough to dress the salad. But most of the food here is pretty good (the burgers are massive), and most plates come with enough for some extra to take home. It's not a place we come to often, but it is always on our list of possibilities.
