After making several attempts to find an outdoor table at one of the bars in Galway City Centre when the pandemic restrictions were still in place, we discovered PJ Flaherty, located down the shoreline in Lower Salthill. The pub is certainly a local hangout for those who live in the area and don't want to tread over to the downtown area in Galway, but it's a fun and boisterous beer garden and bar that we enjoyed immensely.
With most of the pubs in Galway City Centre being at maximum capacity outside with long waits for a table, we made our way out of town to discover this spot that had all the elements of a backyard party.
We enjoyed a table just under an outdoor heater, knocking back pints and some pours of Jameson. Our time there was a fun one without a doubt and well recommended if you want a local spot outside the crowds of the pubs in the Latin Quarter of Galway City Centre. read more
