Piu serves Italian comfort food in downtown Zurich. This is the place you come to when you eating is more important than the experience. The food is good but the service is industrial. Tables are closely spaced and service is as close to the American industrial model as I have seen. Not the most relaxed meal. There is outdoor seating but I was here on a rainy day so everyone was inside. The pasta is my dish was clumping and sticking together. Unfortunate since it was al dante. read more

Our group of 6 arrived early but were offered a seat and water until the kitchen opened. Food was delicious! I had the Veal Tagliatelle & my husband had the lasagna. One of our friends is gluten free & was able to order pasta. He was thrilled & said it was delicious. Another ordered a pizza which is 12" & too big for her which my husband helped her finish it was so good. Very relaxed. Not too loud. read more

Sat at a table in the garden at lunch time alone after flying from Los Angeles and walking 40 minutes to the restaurant. After more than 30 minutes of not being waited on by anyone, I left. Waiter made eye contact plenty of times and saw me get up to leave without intervening. Menu looked like I would have eaten here many times had I not been ignored. read more

Service? What service? Was ignored for 25 minutes and then left. It's a restaurant located in an industrial area not St Moritz. You'd think they would welcome the business. The wait staff think they something special...not. read more

Excellent find. I was hungry a little earlier than usual, so I got there before the rush, and that worked out well for me. I was dining solo, so I was able to sit at the bar. Service was excellent. The bartender is really only responsible for serving drinks, and there is still a waitress even though you're sitting at the bar. A little different than I am used to, but service by both of them was tremendous. I had a nice drink to start, called an Italian Smash. It was excellent and definitely made like a quality craft cocktail. My only issue with drinks in Europe is they are a light pour. Also had an excellent glass of wine, the squid salad, which I highly recommend and the carbonara pasta. Which was probably four out of five stars, although very good. My only regret is I did not get to try the pizza. It looked phenomenal. I just had pizza the night before and wanted something different. Overall excellent place read more

4/1/24 - After a long coach ride and a walking tour of the area around our hotel, we decided on a little place within walking distance of our hotel. We were warmly greeted and taken to a nice table, and like the casual but crisp decor. Our server didn't speak any English and we had a bit of a challenging time asking questions about the menu. He asked another person to come to our table to help with the questions and order. We opted for a pizza that we thought would serve 2. When it arrived it was almost as big as the table and we had a nice red wine to accompany it. Later as a few more people arrived and ordered, we saw that some of them ordered a similar pizza the same size as ours but for themselves. Perhaps some of the questions the staff had was that pizza's that size seemed to be served for 1 person. Even the 2 of us barely finished it and we'd hadn't eaten much that day. Although we lingered without ordering dessert, no one rushed us out. Wish American restaurants didn't. read more

Zürich prices. So get over it. The pastas were delicious and cooked perfectly. All flavors were spot on. The service was competent and efficient. Would recommend read more

Traveling for a single night through Zurich to catch up with family, the plan was to visit the trendy "Frau Gerolds Garten". But at 21:30, after 2 hours of flight delays, that place would have offered inferior food options, such that the plan changed for the "Piu" near the Schiffbau. Superb! Not cheap. Cool and modern design with open high ceilings and artful fixtures, lots of light, open kitchen configuration - just again super trendy. The place was very inviting, and it offered full kitchen service for much longer with very nice and forthcoming staff. Appetizers, salads, and the pizzas were all colorful, fresh, and just a 1000x better than had been the case in Rome a few days earlier. This was what I would have liked to see in Italy and fortunately found - in Zurich. I would definitely come back and explore the place more, was I not at a negligible distance of close to 6000 miles away. read more

Incredible! Attentive! Great food and staff who never rushes your lunch or diner. Thought I was in Italy..

We had a fantastic meal at Piu! The staff were so accommodating to our questions and they gave us wonderful recommendations. We sat inside and the interior has a warm and inviting atmosphere with great artwork. Portions were large enough to share and prices were very reasonable! Highly recommend! read more

In search of a good meal for a sole night in Zurich, I happened upon Piu, which was conveniently located near where I was staying. Upon entering I discovered the place was packed, but I was lucky enough to snag a single seat at the bar. While the service left something to be desired, the food itself was as good as it gets. Starting out with a salad, I soon realized that each order was enough for two, which meant that I could only finish half of my bowl of pasta bolognese, and ended up having to ask for the rest to go, as I did not want it to go to waste. I washed it all down with a couple of glasses of their red wine by glass, which hit the spot, and chatted with the person seated next to me since our servers thought we were together, and didn't bring out her pizza until after I had finished my salad and was ready for my pasta! read more

We were able to walk in for 4 people without a reservation. Each person had a pizza - white truffle and the salami pizza - and I had the quinoa salad. The food was delivered very quickly and the pizza was delicious and good portions. Every adult was able to eat their own pizza. Service was wonderful and the ambiance is perfect for a vacationing family - chic casual. read more
