Nice place for dinner with friends. This is labeled as Asian fast food, but it ain't no McDonald's…read more-- trendy and cute, but rather minimalist inside, with kind of a Japanese zen garden vibe. I liked how the ceiling lamps resembled giant shitake mushrooms. There is a little bar area to the side. I was told there is nice garden seating out back during the warmer months. The menu contains a variety of Asian cuisine, but tonight I had the Japanese green tea (Senchatee) for CHF 7.50 and Yasai Yaki Udon for CHF 23.90. Pan-fried noodles with shitake mushrooms, soybean sprouts, snow peas, carrots, tofu, and baby corn, it was filling and quite tasty. I've been eating a lot of spicy food lately, so at first my dish seemed a bit bland, but then the sourness of the baby corn really stood out against the chewy noodle base and gave it a nice kick. All-in-all, a pleasant dinner, and I'd like to come back some time to try one of the hot pots on their extensive menu.

Mishio is pretty much your typical "Americanized" Chinese restaurant... in Switzerland. What?…read moreIdk... that's the first thing that came to mind. Anyway, the portions are good, the food is tasty, the price is Swiss, the place is modern and pretty, and the people working here are sweet. What's not to love? Oh, it's also not packed at 6, which is awesome as long as the food is good- and it is! I ordered the szechuan chicken and my boyfriend got the cashew chicken, our friend got the sweet and sour chicken. All were 25.50 CHF each, and came with rice. Mine tasted fine, but some of the vegetables were a little too hard. Nothing particularly stood out, but it wasn't bad either The food was good, and the prices were ok, but pushing it a bit.

Going to Switzerland and not having a bratwurst is like going to Germany and not having a....oh…read morebratwurst...okay maybe we can use schnitzel for literary reasons... ANYWAY, as it is now towards the end of my trip, I'm hungry, and I love street food, so what better way to spend my last few swiss franc coins than a german sausage at the food stand in the main train station of Zurich? Oops, forgot I was in Switzerland and the 2 FR coins will do you no good. The chilliwurst I got here was about 6.50 FR, which is actually pretty darn cheap. Thank goodness I still had some EUR left on me, and they took it with 1:1 exchange, which is no longer a rip-off. I guess good things do come out of that Swiss Franc move. They have a selection of food at Buffet Express, but a tiny stand just for sausages. You get to pick different types of bread, and I opted for the one that already had a hole in the centre, specially made for wursts. The guy squeezed some ketchup into the hole, took the chiliwurst off the grill, and slipped it in (I feel like there's a joke here somewhere). The good: chiliwurst was very tasty and filling...and actually a bit spicy!!! The not so good: the ketchup shoots out from the bottom every time you take a bite at the top, and the only thing eating that ketchup is your coat. Overall, I was happy with my selection. P.S., I did walk around oldtown later to see what I can buy for 6.50 food-wise, and I only found sausages, so if you are hungry after you get off the train, I suggest you don't shy away from Buffet Express.
