Maximilliano blew our socks off, with his kind demeanor and sincere sense of humor. Couldn't recommend this more. Grazie!

Delicious place to dine alfresco in a cosy cobble stone plaza next to the river. My family cleaned their plates! 2 orders of pasta, one thin crust Margherita pizza, and an trio of meats with burrata. We heard Italian, German, and English spoken. Our wait staff was attentive and we were seated right before the Sunday afternoon crowd arrived. read more

Molino - Pizza Near Me - Zürich, ZH

The food here was fantastic, it came out hot and quickly. We were seated on the terrace on a hot sunny humid day in July in the shade with just enough of a breeze. It was hot and stuffy inside. The waiters were courteous and professional. Great Italian restaurant. read more

The food is very good. Recommended by our hotel, the service, food and ambiance did not disappoint. Very good food. Bruschetta traditional was amazing (sorry, forgot photo) read more

We came here looking for a lunch while on vacation. The tables were all reserved but they only had 3 tables so we asked and were sat at a reserved table. The portions were small, the pasta was not fresh and the carbonara was not traditional. This was a very lack luster meal at best. Go further north to find a better restaurant and avoid this one. read more

One of the best pizzas I've ever had! Servers were professional and polite and kindly answered all of our questions on the menu. Definitely look into getting a reservation- we showed up after the lunch rush so had no problem getting a table without one, but otherwise it may have been hard. Would highly recommend!! read more

The food was fine, however our waitress, Suet, was awful. She was very rude to us, the tables around us, and the other staff in the restaurant. read more

Don't expect much service (but this goes to almost all Zurich restaurants), but do expect amazing pizza at fair prices. My friend and I managed to split the funghi pizza (20.50CHF) and it left us content, but not full. If you're looking for a budget-friendly place and you won't be awake much longer or doing anything intensive, this place does the job. The pizza crust is thick, though dough-y. We're from Copenhagen so having non-thin crust pizza for once was a blessing. The cheese and marinara are light; we didn't feel like we were eating 1000+ calories even if we did. The mushrooms were good and spread throughout the pizza. The basil was literally two leaves for a whole pizza, so... They can be stingy. read more

I saw the reviews but we were staying at the Hotel Helmhaus right across from Molino - so thought we'd give it a try. First - went on a Saturday night and it was very busy. We did not have a reservation but said that we could wait at the bar and have a glass of wine while we waited. This was fine for 20 minutes but since you only get 100ml of wine per glass in Switzerland - we began to look around and wonder what was going on... The staff spends a lot of time talking to each other. This eats up precious time that should be focused on guests. People who looked like managers were taking up the staffs time while staff is trying to serve and go up and down stairs to their tables. The maitre'd? forgot about us and seated a few walk ins ahead of us - we were able to get his attention, he apologized and comped the wine - very nice. We were seated in an ok table upstairs. We waited quite a while for a server to come to the table and set the table. We were not offered water or asked about beverages. We quickly ordered a parma pizza and another glass of wine. Pizza came very quickly - 1 pie is plenty for 2 people. The pizza was delicious! We had to wait a while to get the check and for the person who had the credit card machine to come by. Staff still talking to each other instead of checking on the tables! So great pizza! but have to get the service shaped up. Saturday night is prime time and this was very disorganized. read more

Just like Aaron said, I wasn't impressed with this place. The waiter was always on the run- we never saw his face! For 2 small pizzas and 2 beers each, it was over 60 Franks. With prices like that, it's sure to break the bank! My margherita pizza was just OK, my husband's salmon pizza was better, but at least we got to sit outside and enjoy the nice, warm weather. It's so close to the lake, and almost right on the river too, so if it's lovely, eat outside, and take in the pleasant view. read more

Molino isn't the first Italian restaurant I'd recommend to friends. It's a Swiss chain and they're scattered all over the North and West of Switzerland. They do a decent job though in the kitchen. My experience with the service was terrible. The waiter wasn't attentive and it was hard to get his attention. He forgot half of the order and was very unfriendly. Needless to say, no tip for Antonio, or whatever his name was. The food was better than the service but nothing to write Rome about. I, personally, found the menu very humdrum and predictable. All the standards without a lot of creativity. They do a seasonal specials menu that changes more often than monthly, but again, not too beguiling. We started with beef carpaccio. It was good. The pizza menu is quite long. I finally put my foot down and decided on the Pizza Regina, I believe it was. I wasn't impressed by the quality of the pie in terms of quantity, if that makes sense - the ingredients were few and far between, namely the cheese and the meat and the sauce... My little lady opted for risotto, which I generally opt-out of at restaurants because it's difficult to prepare fresh, meaning, it's not! She wanted to try one similar to one of my risotto specialties. Theirs was called Zitronenrisotto mit Riesencrevetten, Rucola und Parmesan-Splitter, mine is just lemon and arugula, but they're the stars. Molino's version is a pretty sad show. Very bland and, again, the stars were few and far between - the shrimp and arugula were meager. I did love the extra-virgin olive oil on the table and the fresh pepper mill - always appreciated. I also saw sliced chilis and requested those as well (see photo)! Prices aren't spectacular, if not a little steep for what you get! For the average Giussepe, Molino would probably suffice just fine, but it didn't twist my tortellini. My suggestion for good Italian, both delicious and reasonable at about the same level as Molino would be Il Gallo right at Escher-Wyss Platz. read more

Not sure why people complain about non food issues like waiting 5 mins to be seated or wifi issues. Obviously not one who appreciates good food. The pasta was fresh and the pizza was original. Very nice combination and perfect crust consistency. Service was friendly and just fast enough. Enjoyed our meal dinner very much. read more

Sitting under those trees, munching a Miss Italia or Bvlgari pizza, the river nearby, that's how lovely a day can slowly come to an end. And each pizza you can order in small if you like. I like that. However, I can't recommend the pasta. Even though I only ordered it once (spaghetti bolognese) it had a ready-made, canned dinner flavour. So I can easily imagine that the other pasta sauces are not to recommend either.. But the pizzas are always good! They also serve huge salads. I can recommend them, too. I really love the tables under the trees. However, I would not want spend an evening on the inside. Outside: romantic and atmospheric. Inside: eat up and let's leave. read more

Very impressive atmosphere. Initially the wait staff was very accommodating. Meal options were good. However, we left after waiting for over 35 minutes, restaurant was only half full, same waitress twice acknowledged she would be right back. watched one couple get served drinks and initial course. We left after telling the the head waiter about our displeasure. read more

The food in this place is all amazing: authentic pizzas and pasta dishes; and amazing veal coteletti. The deserts are awesome too. But, even more than the food, the reason why our family keeps coming to this place (3 times in two months) is their kid friendly and great service even for people who don't speak German. Many of their staff speak English. The kid friendliness in this restaurant is unmatched so far, from what we have seen the last few months in Zurich. They actually smile when they see kids and even have special treats for their birthday where kids get to make their own pizza with one of their chefs. They made my kids' days. Their usual kids menu even includes special gift for kids on any regular day. Overall, if you family is looking for good food, comfortable place for a meal, you will not go wrong with this place. read more

A chain, decent, fine-dining italian place. This one time I went there it was packed and the noodles were undercooked, I asked them if they can recook it. The employees were nice enough and brought another new plate with a smile. GOOD SERVICE! read more

This review is strictly for the SERVICE of this restaurant, not for the food. We couldn't get past the poor service to try the food. We walked by this restaurant around 6pm today. Didn't have a reservation but the place didn't look very packed so thought we'd give it a shot. There were no one else waiting, but It took at least 5 minutes just for someone to come to the front and greet us, while the rest of the staff walked passed us like we weren't even there. One waitress asked us to go inside and then a few more minutes elapsed before another waiter pointed to an empty table, which was not even set, just a completely empty table with two chairs still connected to the table next to it. It was weird and awkward to sit down next to 3 random strangers at a bare table. I tried to slide the table away from the others to make it a little less weird, made little to no difference. We waited a few more minutes but no one even came to put anything on the table or give us menus. NOTHING! We had enough at this point so just upped and walked out. Never had such an experience at any restaurant anywhere. Completely unacceptable! Will not return to this place ever again... read more

Despite the fact that we had a reservation, our party of five for seated at a table for four in a half-empty room. Service was slow, the pasta was cold, they charged us for tap water. Pizza was pretty good. We waited about 20 minutes to order dessert, and then another 20 minutes to get the check, and then 10 minutes for them to come with the credit card machine. The wait staff clearly had no interest in serving us. read more

On our first Sunday in Zurich, last week, I went for a walk with my companion along the river leading to the main park that also banks Lake Zurich. We passed "Il Molino" on the way toward the park and my companion remarked that the pizza is good, he having been there before on a previous work trip. On our way back from the park walk, we decided to fgo or lunch. When we walked in it was a bit busy, but not overwhelmingly so (Sunday early afternoon) I/we figured we would have a nice pizza and then continue on our walk back to our place. We were seated quickly enough and menus given. As well, our order was also taken relatively quickly too. We shared the Caprese salad and here I started to worry because it was topped with parsley..... The mozzarella was bufala, unfortunately, given the season, the tomatoes were bland. We also ordered our pizze and here is where things got a bit "off track". ...with a restaurant not overly busy, I wasn't expecting to wait 30 minutes....and during this time, the wait staff didn't bother to come by to ask if we needed anything or to let us know about our pizze. Funny enough, when the manager was walking by he was starting to ask us "how things are going?" JUST as our pizze were finally showing up.....wasn't that a close one :-P With this said, my pizza was overcooked and though it was good, it wasn't great. As well, even to order dessert was problematic as the waitress came to get our dishes when we finished but didn't bother to come back on her own until she noticed my companion trying to make eye contact. We ordered the profiteroles and a caffe, both were good, the profiteroles, made in house, were very good. In all, I give this lace a 2.5 as the LACKING in service affected the quality of the pizza....NOT good :-( read more

Food was good but the service really bad. There's a lot of italian restaurants in Zurich which I would rather prefer than going to this place. We felt not welcomed from the beginning on. read more

A good chain Italian restaurant, with standard Italian fare. The service is a bit slow & understaffed. Their free WiFi is only available to those who have Swiss or German mobile phones, to receive a login code via SMS. My US phone was useless while there, as there's no other way to gain access...I guess they don't care about the tourists, only locals. On the plus side, the Lasagna was tasty, albeit overpriced. read more
