It was a wonderful experience to dine at Pizzeria Sofia. The ambiance was vibrant! The restaurant is massive and beautiful with high ceilings. The service is beyond impeccable. Our server was Catherine; she was a good, caring and helpful. The restaurant was hopping with full of customers. And our food arrived very promptly and it tasted very delicious. We had wine, lime oysters, pasta (Mac n cheese and pancetta carbonara), and cannoli. The price is moderately high but the quality of the food and the service and the service is excellent. Be warned parking on a Saturday night took me well 30 minutes and there's literally no parking available on the streets. Many of us migrated around the parking lot looking for a place to park our car! Sofia has other locations and is one of those modern resto, with a beautiful aesthetic that is very popular to younger patrons. Do note it will be VERY loud so expect to speak loudly in turn, so don't expect this to be a place for an intimate or romantic setting. Food-wise I went with the calzone or at least some kind of variant of what you'd expect a calzone to actually be. I'm used to those big fat greasy sexy beasts filled with the goods but I guess this "gourmet version" is what to be expected here. Tasted alright but quite underwhelming given the price-tag. Wouldn't recommend. For dessert I went with the lime pie expecting to be disappointed but I was totally wrong! This lime pie knocked my socks off. It was simply one of the best slices of pie I've eaten outside of Key West. Totally would go back just because of this. Simply fab. Service was a little slow but understandable as the place was rocking. Overall, a decent experience. I'd go with another main for sure but that key lime pie still calls to me in my dreams. read more

I'm from Pittsburgh and thought I knew pizza. Well Sophia takes it to a really high level. The crust is close to an English Jacobs cracker toasted. I have never had it so good. The sun dried tomatoes impart a slight tartness and complements the mozzarella cheese very well. Arugula galore and provides the right amount of bitterness. Overall a balanced thin crust veggie pizza. The Caesar's salad is much like the one from Mario's Manila. Slices of Parmesan abound for the salad. It's a meal in itself. read more

Another place that's been on my list for a while and I finally got to cross it off. I had to plan a date and decided that this spot would work since it's a cute restaurant and definitely has that romantic vibe. When you walk in you can see that the restaurant isn't that big so things are defiantly cozy. The kitchen is big and is an open concept so you can see everything. The decor is very italian pizzeria style as well. To eat we started with the fried calamari which were fantastic the dipping sauce was different from what I I've had before they use some type of Dijon mix and honestly it really works. For my main I got the parpadelle and my date got the calzone. Both dishes were fantastic and had a pretty authentic taste, my Nona would even approve. However with the entree already devoured we had a hard time finishing our mains anD as bad as I wanted dessert I just had no more room left. But I will be coming back to try them cause they looked to die for. I recommend common there and having a taste of as many things on the menu as possible because it's that good! The only down side is if you plan on coming on a busy night finding parking is a nightmare ! read more

Went here in a group of 6 for dinner. Food was good but service was horrible. We ordered 2 drinks at the bar and then ordered the exact same drinks at our table and was charged an extra 3$... our waiter took our appetizer order and brought it to us before taking our order for the mains so we had appetizers with our menus in our lap and then had to wait an extra 30 mins after our appetizers to order our main meal. Not pleased. Main meal came, my food was good. I ordered the spaghetti al nero which was squid ink pasta with seafood. I asked for a spoon and the waiter gave me some attitude because apparently asking for a spoon to eat spaghetti is too much. Some of my friends ordered the mac and cheese with truffle and it came basically as a rosee sauce with cheese. At the end of my meal i ordered a latte and it came in a tall glass. I couldnt pick it up as it is hot coffee and as you can see i could barely stir it too. When it came time to pay, our waiter disappeared for 45 mins. It took us over an hour to pay for our meal and leave. As you can tell, i was not satisfied with my experience at this restaurant. The food was tasty but portions are small and ultimately not worth it in my opinion. read more

Average at best. Good portions yes but expensive and your not getting anything remarkable. 32$ salmon tartare need a complete reflavoring . Mushroom pizza wasn't bad buy nothing spectacular either. We had to pay for the complementary (supposed) room temperature water. End up with 172$ for 2 adult , 2 kids . No alcohol and no dessert ordered. Gave 3 stars because the service was very good and our waitress professional and attentive to our requests. read more

We are here on a sunday night at 6pm and so far so good! The pizza is great, drinks are pretty effective and we dont have any issues with the service! I can imagine how it would be an issue when the place is full at 9pm though! The ambiance and the decor are very nice and my tastebuds are definetly satisfied!! Right of the bat I'm going to say I would have gave this pizzeria a 5 star, but they forgot drinks and the service was pretty good, considering it was jam packed. The decor has an industrial euro vibe, very well done. Kudos. Okay so we started with a few apps, lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and well seasoned, I didn't care for the purée it came with, but still delicious. We had ordered a few plates of calamari... here the problem they were fantastic but.. the portion is pretty small and a tad expensive for what you receive. A few others took a variety of tartar and they said it was well seasoned and delicious and a generous amount of tartar. We took a few pizzas, americano and the other two I can't seem to remember, must be those kroenenbergs I had. The pizzas were delicious, the crust was nice and charred to an extent and still soft, the topping all compliment themselves, from the soft fuore di latte to the salty crispy proshutto. To start off, the service is absolutely terrible!!! I had made a reservation for 2 people, and when we got there 5 minutes before our reservation the host has told us our table will be ready in 10-15 minutes. 9:15 comes around and the host once again says our table will be ready in about 15 minutes... 9:30 comes around and guess what? No table ready, so once again the host says I'm so sorry but your table is ready in 10 minutes MAX! So 9:40 comes around and a couple walks in who had a reservation for 9:30 (we had one for 9:00) and THEY WERE ABOUT TO SEAT THEM BEFORE US, when we had been waiting for 45 minutes! So I go up to the host and she tells me she forgot about us and didn't remember we had a reservation this WHOLE TIME we were waiting... after being treated so badly and forgotten about and told our table will be ready in 15 minutes, 3 times.. they didn't not even apologize or offer a complementary drink for the terrible, disgusting service! Never going back again and wouldn't ever recommend to anyone. read more

What an arrogant owner Giorgio! I was at the restaurant with my family and we were sat at the terrace, by 5 PM it started to get colder and my kids were really uncomfortable and cold. I asked the waitress (who was really kind) to change table and move to the inside. He replied, we reserved all the tables and waiting for people. He then look away and started talking with his staff not even apologizing. The waitress did it for him. Speaking about food, it was too slow, pizza was cold, and the meat dish was miserable. We made a reservation 3 weeks in advanced for a group of 10, we got to our reservation at 8:55 for a 9 o'clock reservation. at 9:30 after asking 3 times already when our table would be ready, the owner said another 5 minutes. Unfortunately, at 9:45 we left the restaurant our table was not ready still. Manager did nothing to help the situation and as no clue what is customer service. read more
