I am extremely picky about my Italian subs, and I have to tell you, these people knocked it out of the park! The quality of ingredients was unsurpassed. The bread was soft and fresh, the meats all so fresh, and the tomato couldn't be redder. All veggies were sliced instead of cubed, and with eat bite, you got the perfect lineup of everything. Wouldn't recommend! The person who answered the phone was incredibly rude, didn't even say hi. They set the phone down on the counter for us to listen to their conversation with the kitchen staff. After a WHOLE minute they finally say what, after we attempted to say hello to them SEVERAL times. I ordered a meatball sub only to find metal in it. I can't tell if it was purposeful from the ill mannered person that answered the phone or if it was an accident. But how do you accidentally put metal in my food? Not only is my meal ruined but my family isn't going to eat the other food and risk injury from a hazardous meal. The best they can do is refund me the meatball sub? Classy. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised to find the food at Pizzaria Roma was delicious today! I haven't been here in years. The service was very good as well. I left a good tip. I would have rated them 5-stars except for the fact that when I later reviewed my receipt, I saw that there was a "service charge" of $0.75 -- for a small cheese pizza and a small green-pepper and onion pizza, bringing the total to over $19. I highly recommend the food; but, you might want to calculate your tip after seeing the service charge. read more

I wanted to believe in this place. However my experience today was terrible. I ordered a lg extra cheese and a large chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza. I walked in and was expecting to have to wait for my pizza to finish cooking. Considering it was about 7 minutes from the time I called in. (I always like to see my pizza coming out of the oven so I know it's fresh) much to my surprise my pizza were already done. I paid almost 38 dollars for both (seems a little steep, but Milano's it would of been 50) got to the car opened the box. Disappointed would be an understatement. Pizza was warm and looked as it was as cooked prior and just tossed in the oven for a quick reheat. No way it was fresh. One bite of the pizza and you could tell it was old and reheated. Finally, I found a decent pizza place in town! Once Giorgio's closed their mom and pop style place in the County Stores plaza (to open the larger restaurant near Ponemah Hill), J and I thought we'd never find another pizza in Milford that was worth our time. We made it our mission to sample as many places as possible (it's amazing how many pizza shops are actually in this town!) and felt our hope disintegrate with every boring lifeless bite. They all tasted the same. And then one Sunday, as we headed into the grocery store, we caught a whiff of something delicious. Looking at the other businesses, a video store, a car parts store, a bank, we determined that the smell must be coming from Valentino's. Could there really be good pizza inside?? We were excited to find out. We ordered a large veggie pizza (light on the cheese) and waited to take it home. I was already preparing to be disappointed, expecting they would give us sparse, wilted excuses for veggies and load the thing with greasy plastic cheese. But they didn't! Our pizza was loaded with fresh spinach, onions, broccoli, tomatoes, and mushrooms. There was just enough sauce, just enough cheese (light cheese: for some reason most places think this means to dump extra cheese on, or almost none-Valentino's got it right) and the crust was crunchy and doughy at the same time. I've been going here for years and it's always been great, but this Friday 9/14/18 I ordered delivery of 2 meatball subs with fries and onion ring. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes and the fries and onion rings were soggy and barely warm. The delivery kid said they only had 2 drivers. Went in for a quick lunch time salad to go & just one whiff had me buying a slice of pizza to go with it. The slice was easily the size of 2 chain store slices and it was VERY GOOD. The sauce wasn't that sweet stuff that goes on more "greek style' fried crust pizza - this is definately an Italian creation. The crust tastes like Italian bread - not greasy oil. My family has gone here a lot since moving to the area. We placed an order for pick up and as I showed up was please to see the masks required sign. After walking in I saw my sister and I were the only people with masks on in the building with the exception of 2 of the 8 total employees. Of course it was because no one was in the building before us right? Well after we walk in and talk to them they proceed to keep masks off after making eye contact with us. Lost looking for a place that delivered to me, and decided to give them a try. Starting with them being polite through my bad cell connection, to the fact that they delivered to me even though it is further than they normally go, and ending with a quick delivery, I say they service aspect was top notch. Now, for the food. Ordered a cheese pizza, bacon pizza and fries. The fries were awesome, great seasoning. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the bacon was crispy but not burnt. I've lived in the area for a couple of years. I have tried a lot of pizza. This pizza reminds me of one of my favorite pizza places back home in mass when I was a kid. I continually go back to this place and there's a lot of other places closer to my house that I could go to for pie but this place is now my "go to." Thin crust, delicious sauce and the perfect cheese blend make this pizza stand out. They are always seemingly super busy in Friday nights, like most pizza places tend to be, but this place in my experiences seems to be ridiculously busy. The hold times I've experienced are definitely longer than other hold times I've waited through at other restaurants. I recommend this place with high confidence. read more

Been here a few times and wasn't disappointed. I have had thier pizza which was pretty good, note i'm not picky about pizza. I had the chicken cordon blue wrap and it was filling! I couldn't finish it! Tasty sub with breaded chicken, ham and cheese. I split a meatball sub with a coworker for lunch, half of the sub was plenty. So far this is the best pizza place we've found in the area! We were bummed when they had to move out of the Market basket Plaza to the Shaw's plaza on the total opposite side of town but it's still the only place we will go. The calzones are great. all the calzone and pizza crust tastes freshly made. Our favorite is the veggie pizza (with added bacon and sausage because we're not vegetarians). Most veggie pizzas have the usual peppers, onions and olives. Pizzaria Roma's veggie pizza had tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, onions and garlic. It's a great combination!!! read more

Tentative three stars until I find the place! One review says Lorden Plaza (far east end of town) and the address matches this, another puts it by the Market Basket at the opposite end of town, and the map puts it on a tiny side street off downtown. Update: Got this from management: Thank you for informing me of this issue . Lorden plaza on 586 Nashua St is our current location . We were located on Jones Road, Market Basket Plaza, about two years ago, before we moved to our new location. So the map is wrong but if you do not know where Lorden (Shaw's) Plaza is you could Google the correct address. read more

I've noticed that Valentino's has, since my last review ,altered it's sauce recipe, or maybe they buy it prepared, or are overcooking it? It's been a little on the sweet/thick side, where it used to be more like a very light, chunky sauce that tasted more like tomatoes than sugar. This is a troubling change because I was happy to rate them so highly in my last review. This new sauce is heavier, and the thin crust can't support it, and so turns soft, almost tasting undercooked. Don't get me wrong: the pizza is still very good these things aside, and the service remains great. I still eat there, I just ask them not to put so much sauce on the pie. read more

We moved to Amherst 2 years ago. At that time we celebrated our boys' birthday at Hampshire Hills and needed to order pizzas for the party. We didn't know where to go so we chose the closest place near by. 10 pizzas later turned out to be a pleasant surprise and a highlight of the party! We were very pleased then and have been since. I have bought subs there several times a week. I went there today and after paying, noticed my order was more than expected. I asked why. The girl said the large steak and cheese was $7.49. The menu right above my head says $6.99. I point this out. She repeats that the large is $7.49, ignores me and asks the person behind me for their order. After my order came out, I asked the girl to speak with the manager. She laughed and then went and got him. I explained. He says they are in the process of increasing their prices and the sign board is out of date. He points to a place on the menu that says, "Prices subject to change". I ask why doesn't he cover the wrong prices with a piece of paper with the correct prices. No answer. No $.50 refund. There are plenty of other sub shops in the area. Time to try them out. read more

The pizza is good, not great but good. As for subs, and wraps it all depends on who is waiting on you. .and if they pay attention. I did find that their chicken is rather chewy, so avoiding that suggest sticking to pizza. They do not keep it as clean as the previous owners used to I noticed. I love Roma pizza. It has the biggest chunks of meat. Roma puts Big Chunks of sweet Italian sausage instead of small ground pork. Big clusters of hamburger, you know and see what meat is on your pizza. You put meat balls on your pizza. They have large meat balls and they just cut them in half, awesome. Etc. The cheese is the best real not processed. The cheese taste great with the just right stretch. Roma pizza sauce is perfect just thick enough, sweet enough but not to much. And they never charge for extra sauce, and that's the way I love it. Roma always take care that the bottom of your stays crispy for you. Making sure it is not soggy or oily. The service is the best , anything for the customer. We wanted something that was not on the menu. I wanted a pastrami pizza with extra sauce and extra cheese. I call every pizza shops in town . Then I check with Roma they said sure no problem. That pizza was great and priced reasonably. read more

Always down to give any pizza shop a fighting chance, but within seconds of walking into to PIzzaria Roma I felt uneasy about my purchase. Not only was the floor disgusting but there was no sign of any eye candy or anything involving happiness. The only thing I was excited about was using my coupons I received in the post. Upon walking to the counter I was merely greeted with a disgruntled employee saying "What number". I replied with my number and received my order, although it was a fair price the pizza was below par, And by below par I mean 6 feet under. The red sauce contains special ingredients which to me tasted like spaghettios. Althought this is just 1 family's opinion, I hope everyone takes this review with a grain of salt. I highly recommend Milford House Of PIzza or Milano's instead of this castastrophe of a pizza shop. Glad this will be a one time thing.
