I didn't have a great first experience at Pizzaness. They have a pretty large menu, with a lot of options to choose from, including subs and gyros. However, the small pepperoni and sausage pizza I ordered wasn't to my personal taste. At $16, it also felt like a poor value. To be clear, it's certainly better than 7-Eleven pizza (my low-end benchmark), but I've had better frozen pizzas at home. There are a lot of pizza places between where I live and here--and I only live about a mile away--so with all those options, this place isn't really for me, at least for now. Review update: Apparently the reliability issue is an issue with GrubHub, not with Pizzaness itself, which pretty much resolves any complaint that had with them. Because: the food is extremely delicious! I'll grant you that it was midnight-thirty when we got it and probably anything would have been delicious, but I liked my calzone as microwaved leftovers the next day, too. And the real kicker is that my spouse, a native Philadelphian, reported that the cheesesteak was remarkably delicious. I'll say first that the pizza here is pretty good. However, the Sergio's has fallen off over the last few years. Calling during lunch may not get answered. Using the online site has never worked. So today I decided to carry out. I ordered a mealness pizza. Veggies and three meats. I was given a meatness pizza instead. All meat no veggies. If you order a pizza with veggies and don't get them, I feel like that should be corrected. I informed the counter guy that I was given a meat pizza. I guess I expected an apology for them farking up pizza. So, at first I was a little skeptical about ordering from here because of all the bad reviews but I was starving and being lazy and this is the only place around me that has cheesesteaks and delivers. The delivery time was scheduled for 6:30/6:40 pm and I got the food at 6:10 - super happy about that. The driver was professional and friendly and the food was pretty good as well - perfect spot for something cheap when you're hungry and don't feel like going with the normal chain pizza places. If you aren't bothered by being overcharged, here's what I thought about the pizza: We got two medium pies: one cheese and one buffalo chicken. The crust was kind of standard chain style (with the oversized handle edge) but a fairly crisp under side. The cheese was of decently good quality and proper proportions. The chicken was pretty good. The tomato sauce was extremely bland and probably just tomato paste with a little oregano. The buffalo chicken pizza's sauce made the pie too salty, but not unbearably so. How to make good pizza and still get a one star review: Offer Groupons. Customer buys a $12 Groupon worth $20. Great!! I get a discount for my first order and get to try a new place. Not a huge discount but $8 off $20. First of all they are not open posted hours. They are most often closed even thought they are advertised opening 11am. I tried multiple times to call but no answer. So I go there in person 4:30 and its locked but they are getting a delivery. I wait and at 4:45 they open. I put in my order for $35+ worth of stuff but the owner says 'no combos with Groupon'. Oh and his facial expression went from nice, to not so nice. So I just place an order for two pizzas and soda that would be $23 for a walk up customer. Nope. $33 for me because my Groupon. So I pay $13 plus the original $12 I paid to Groupon. Fun. I pay more than the normal walk up customer just to use my Groupon. As an owner, why do you do stuff like that? I will not return because you ripped me off. And what did you save? You saved an order of 10 chicken wings (and I would have paid you more cash too). Also Groupon, you need to clean up your act too. Stop making deals with restaurants that don't want to honor your Groupon. read more

I love their pizzas and subs. it is the best in the area. I am not from US and I happen to visit MD and one of my friends recommended it to me. I am glad I tried it. I placed my order through the phone and they said it take 40 minutes to deliver to the place I was staying.It took them around 50 minutes and I was alright with it. That is the only reason I did not give five stars. I love their sauces and it had the right amount of cheese on top.
