This place is great! This is the best pizza I have found in St. Jo. Forget il Lazzarone (I wish I could) this is the spot. If you love New York style, or if you just love good pizza, give this spot a try. A cool little take out spot, with a few guys throwing down on great pies behind the counter. The pie was executed perfectly and the guys behind the counter were great. I wish it was just a little bit warmer but the time we got home with it, but such is life. We did the cupping pepperoni with hot honey on one half. Just out the honey on the whole pie, it balanced out all the other flavors perfectly. Burned crust that was way to tough, hardly any sauce and poorly spaced ingredients. For the price you can do better. The business is definitely not the cleanest. The cook had a open pack of cigarettes on the glass counter. Dirt and cigarette butts in the doorway. I was really surprised, as this place has a pretty good reputation and honestly I can not see why. Maybe it is the curse of St Joe but this place charges alot and just does not deliver. read more

We have been wanting to try the pizza. The tip and the order processing fee on an already $27 pizza for carry out is a bit much. I don't tip before I see the food or have any interaction with employees. I guess we will go elsewhere. read more

I went in at lunch and saw they had slices. I ordered two, paid and sat down. I noticed later that a combo is 2 slices and a drink for the same price as two slices. Another customer came in, ordered the same and paid. Neither of us were offered the combo. You may want to mention it to customers who order 2 slices. Great NY style pizza, flavors were amazing. We opted or order individual slices vs whole pie. We had cheese, pepperoni, spicy pepperoni and white pizza. Very great crust, perfect chewiness level but not so insanely thick it feels like you're eating a loaf of bread. Pepperoni slices were generous, slice size was perfect. Also had two salads and they were flavorful and beautiful! Only downfall is very limited eating space especially when you have cases of soda stacked on chairs and counter. For those looking for classic New York style pizza this is the place. It is simple and direct. 2 slices and a can of soda for $10. The owner is from the Bronx and his pizza echos the tradition. The crust is thin and crispy which I love. The sauce is sweet which offsets a little of the salty taste of the crust. The cheese is perfect in the amount and taste. I am so excited that this is here! Saint Joseph, in fact the entire Kansas City region, has needed a good New York style pizza restaurant for some time. It's decent pizza, but it would be wrong to say that this tastes like pizza you get in NYC. I'm not a hater. I've met the owner and he's a good guy. I'm glad he's doing well. While this pizza may look and feel like a NY pizza, it doesn't have the same quality ingredients. Not the pepperoni or the cheese. Not familiar with New York style pizza so I tried this over lunch. It was mediocre in my opinion. It could be I just prefer a style that doesn't have THAT thin of crust- it was very thin with barely any substantial toppings. The three meat piece was better than the white. I did have stomach issues after I ate this, but I cannot tell for sure if it was the pizza, without proof. read more

I can't explain how amazing the NY style pizza is here. I'm originally from NY and my most awesome memories were our Friday night pizza nights. I've lived in downtown Chicago for 25 years and although a Mecca for fabulous fine dining- so much so that I rarely write reviews- the one thing I've longed for - for an agonizing 25 years is a good NY style pizza place. I've gone to every single place that claims to be NY style but nobody comes close. I don't like Chicago pizza at all, and I'm not a huge fan of Napoli pizza but give me a slice of NY style and I'm in hog Heaven. The owner of Tascio is a former NY - and his creation is the best I've come across. Hilarious that I can't get a good slice in the 3rd largest city, but I can in a small city in Missouri. If you like super thin big fold over slices with the perfect tang of the sauce and cheese and the most amazing crust - this is your place. The pies are about $20+ each but I'd happily pay double it's that good. read more
