Food is not stellar but it's a great place to take the kids for an inexpensive meal and some fun at the arcade.

I'm not the biggest fan of pizza ranch but I do know they have hard workers here and you can get some pretty good ice cream.

Disappointing. Such a shame I was so excited to have Happy Joes again…read more I'm an area native and hadn't had Happy Joe's pizza in awhile. As in decades. There are no Happy Joes where I moved to after putting myself through school. I was super excited to order to go,, while back visiting the area and retirement house shopping. Phoned in order. Arrived at restaurant. They had made the order wrong (had put meat on a vegetarian pizza despite my double checking with the teenage girl on the phone I placed the order with "you understood no beef or sausage no meat at all".) No biggie. Things happen. No big deal. Paid for the pizza and had a seat and cheerfully occupied myself on my phone while they immediately remade the pizza (no apology, no offer of water, nothing) 20 minutes later the correct pizza was completed on the remake. Was handed the pizza by a teenage girl who thanked me and left. Then I walked to my car. As I was closing the car door a different teenage girl (thin, petite, brunette with glasses) ran up to my car shouting "excuse me was that pizza paid for" (her coworker had clearly handed me the pizza) This was too much. Getting a simple order wrong, having to wait for a remake, no apology, then a 16 year old running up to my car and basically accusing me of not paying for a silly pizza. I smiled sweetly and said "yes I had plenty of time to pay for a thirty dollar pizza since they got the order wrong the first time and had to remake it" She then said "oh" (no apology for the bizarre implication I hadn't paid for the pizza.) Very weird and bizarre situation. Very disappointing and although I'll be retiring back to the area, and Happy Joe's was a staple of my childhood, I won't be back.

If you want good Happy Joes pizza go anywhere but here. Not much topping. Dubuque and Cascade give…read moreyou twice the toppings this location does

Visited on a Friday night with a 4:15 reservation. Parking was a bit rough but found a space a…read morecouple of blocks away. The restaurant is large with a lot of open space, booths, tables, high tops and a few snugs. Made our reservation on Open Table. This, in addition to their Toast rewards program, are nice perks. My husband and I split the GF (cauliflower crust) Dubuquer pizza. My son had the small hot honey Detroit crust. Fabulous and affordable. My only complaint is that they have Pepsi instead of Coke products, but that's just because of preference. Service was fast and efficient! This is now a nice every couple of weeks go-to place! Someday we will have to check out the other connected bar and arcades. I highly suggest everyone visit from Thanksgiving to the New Year as they already have reservations going for their Winter Wonderland. They will have even more than last year, including their LEGO Harry Potter display and the new Lord of the Rings display.

This place was pretty full even though we went later on a Saturday night. The pizza was great, just…read morelike all the other reviews state. I'm actually hooked on Detroit style pizza now. We sat at the bar so we could watch the husker football game. You can only see the tv from a couple tables. Yes, the bartenders were sweet enough to put on the Nebraska game in Iowa! I'm only removing a star for the smell. You will 100% reek when leaving here. You marinade in it and it will permeate into your hair and skin. Not just for the night, even after you shower, you will sweat pizza grease the next day. PLEASE PLEASE get some ventilation. Quick note about the set up of this place. Driftless, Dolfs bar, and Backpocket restaurant all share the same common area/bathrooms, then the basement of the area is an arcade.
