By and large I like Pizza Ranch as a chain. Lemars' Pizza Ranch is a joke though. The food is good, but the service is lacking. I have eaten there a few of times, trying to give them a fair assessment.
The problems are with the wait staff at the counter. I was in line by myself, 3 people ahead of me. The wait staff was cordial and asked the group ahead of me if there were any pizzas they would like specially made for them, and they obliged with their request.
When it was my turn at the counter, they never bothered to ask me if there was any pizzas I'd like made. I could've said something, but I didn't I made a mental note for next time. Weeks passed and I returned for lunch. They did better, and did ask what type of pizza I'd like. I had eaten at the Pizza ranch previously in Orange City, and liked a couple of pizzas up there, and I requested them at Lemars. But was told they didn't make the ones, I ordered. So I just ate what was in the buffet line. I returned months later with a friend, again when asked what pizzas we'd like made, I ordered a Meaty Tahiti pizza, they said they didn't make it. So I ordered a Sweet Chili pizza. They handed us a number, and we dished up in the service line and sat down to start eating. I noticed that several groups that came in after us, were being served their speciality pizzas, but we still weren't served ours. I flagged down the waitress and asked why we were being overlooked, with the pizza we had ordered. She asked, "What did you order?" I told her the Sweet Chili Pizza. She said, "Oh, we don't make that one.", she snatched our number and walked away.
Why give customers a number, if you have no intention of filling their order?
I complained to management via the internet, and they offered me a free meal. When I returned for thefree meal, I was greeted with the same old song and dance. They hadn't done any retraining of their staff, so as not to duplicate the same bad experience for me.
By and large as a whole. The Pizza Ranch Corporation should stop asking customers what pizzas they want with thier meal. Instead they should have a selected menu of Pizzas they are willing to make for customers, and ask them to choose from that list what they want. That way they keep the customers happy, and keep the lunch line flowing smoothly.
I won't be returning to the Lemars' Pizza Ranch! read more
