I was greeted immediately after I walked in the door. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Well this place is certainly not the best pizza ranch I have visited but I certainly did not see the issues reported in other reviews. The place was clean but I was there shortly before noon so it had not been open very long. The employees were right on top of clearing dirt dishes from our table. I requested a meat lovers pizza when I arrived and it was served to my table within 15 minutes. I did notice that the food in the buffet was warm but not the piping hot that I have come to expect at the ranch. Everything looked well kept and was full. I did notice that the chicken was overdone. The cooking of the chicken is one thing I have noticed is the least consistent food item at the ranch. Some get it, some don't. Not over done to the point of dry chicken but could have been taken out a bit sooner. Lots of available seating and this is a ranch with ice cream. Still like these places.

Our family likes buffets because, with a large group, everyone can usually find something they like. Pizza ranch has a pizza, salad bar, and home style food buffet. We are vegetarians and I am gluten-free. Usually I find enough on the buffet that I don't need to order a gluten-free pizza (not included with the buffet). There are several options of pizzas- our favorite being the Tuscan Roma with spinach, tomatoes, and Alfredo sauce on a thin crust- including veggie pizzas, cheese pizza, and cheesy breadsticks with pizza dipping sauce. This is a great restaurant for families!

    Come on in!

Worst dining experience ever. Rude employee, dirty floors(only 4 tables w/customers), food all over the buffet table, and never going back.

So I thought I'd check in on one of my favorite chefs Matt Annand (featured in the MN Homegrown cookbook) and sadly Prairie Bay is closed. But he's now running the show at Notch*8. He's still bringing the good stuff - elevated but recognizable supper-club style wedge salad, tender brisket on focaccia with an onion soup jus that was so satisfying. (Literally- I could make a post about the jus) The show stopper? This off menu (but I'm told it could become a regular) desert has no name as of yet - but I'll give you my take... Zabaione takes a trip to the lakes region and cosplays as a roasted marshmallow - falls in love with the local berries and settles down in a house with a view. Make sense? The zabaione had a perfect balance/consistency- but the brûlée at the end was brilliant. I was here "out of season" for local fruit but I know Matt is committed to local sourcing - so an excellent dish will only get better with "in season" fruit. (I'd love to have seen a kernza flour + hazelnut cookie on top - but that may be gilding the lily) great job crew!

We were here about a month ago with high expectations, and for a few reasons they weren't met, BUT…read moreI will be back and think things will be better. The place is very cool and feels way more intimate than it was as Prairie Bay. The bar on the left is fun and small enough to be buzzing on weekdays. We had a group of 6 and ordered several apps and drinks and dinner. For apps we tried the Bruschetta (nice and crisp and fresh), the Meatballs (good texture but lacking in seasoning), and the Artichoke Dip (tasty dip and crispy ravioli should be the thing to dip in everything.). I had the Short Rib (very good meat, the potatoes and veggies needed way more seasoning and some fat on them, they were too dry). I tasted the Chicken Marsala (Very juicy and tasty version of this), the Seafood Manicotti (nice, fairly light sauce on perfectly cooked manicotti), the Bolognese (pretty good sauce that lacked a little depth of flavor), and the Short Rib Rigatoni (the same good short rib on al dense pasta with a goat cheese and pea sauce which sounds weird but worked well). The server was new and struggled a bit managing orders and the timing of courses (some apps came out with entrees.) Overall a good start, I see them fixing things and getting better, and the atmosphere is really fun, so that's a huge plus.

I enjoyed the food and restaurant. However some of the photos posted are uploaded by the owners…read moreand some are not on the menu. I was told the items I wanted must have been catering for special events and not actually on the menu. The service was great and the ambiance was nice aside from the few living plants needing upkeep.
