He gave me a number on a stand to take to my table. ...odd...but ok... I had never did this before so... you take the number so when the requested food comes out; it is brought to you first! You're asked how much you would like. What?! This is ridiculously amazing!! The food was delicious. For being just after noon it wasn't busy, so you were worried about getting the last of something. Didn't feel like cooking last Friday night so sis and I decided on Pizza Ranch. We love PR but don't come nearly enough. We've got a rewards card but not exactly sure how that works...I just collect points. Pay at the front cashier (you can request specific pizzas to be brought to your table first before it hits the buffet), get your beverage cup and then pick a place to sit. We can at 5pm, it was slightly busy but no line at the cashier. Saw staff busy clearing/ cleaning tables and keeping up on replenishing the buffet tables. We like booths and found a place towards the back. We set our glasses of pop on the table and then headed to the salad bar. It looked weird with the salt and pepper shakers at the edge of the table but didn't think anything of it. When we returned, our glasses were missing and the S/P shakers were moved to the wall next to the napkin dispenser. I think we grabbed a "dirty" table that was cleared but not cleaned. Oopsie. I flagged down a dining room attendant and got our cups replaced. Love a good salad bar. Limited time salad item: Sicilian lettuce (black olive, banana peppers, red onion, pepperoni) tasted great with a vinegarette. Lots of different types of pizza. Also tried chicken for the first time. It was good but it doesn't have KFC flavor. Didn't really know what to expect, juicy but minimal flavor. My dad likes their chicken and he prefers food that are more bland. The biscuit was good, melted in your mouth. Always try to save room for the cactus bread. Sis prefers fruit flavors (blueberry or peach), I prefer the original. I tried the caramel apple because limited item. Not a fan of the walnuts but I don't like them on anything anyhow. By the time we were done, there was a line out the door. The food is just as expected at a Pizza Ranch and the kept the Cactus Bread FLOWING. Loved it. The ice cream machine was out of service but it's par for the course. This Pizza Ranch is a great spot for lunch. Their Chicken is amazing and falls of the bone. Large variety of pizzas and the dessert pizzas were delicious especially the peach one. I was really disappointed with the service here tonight. Friends and I walked into this establishment at 7:15pm. (Yes I know they closed at 8) upon walking up to the counter we were greeted by a working teen. She told us kindly that the registers were down and they needed a few moments to restart it. (Cool, that's fine. We can wait) We get it technology these days have a mind of its own. As we were standing there and I wanted to make small talk with the manager and team members I jokingly said "I guess we are eating for free tonight". The manager (older gentleman) said "uhhh no" like a hard no, no joking voice and rolled his eyes at me. He proceeded to take his phone out and leave to call whomever to figure out the register issue. Another girl came out and was trying to restart the iPad Pro (this is the main register and if that register is down all of the POS is down). This is what the girl was explaining to me. We offered to pay cash and was turned down again. They said that they can't take anything as there system was down. I finally asked the question that I wish they had just told me upon walking in instead of waiting around for 10 minutes for. "Can we still eat here?" The answer was no so we left. (We left dumbfounded at the type of service we got here tonight) We left at 7:28pm with kids that were hungry and really wanted pizza ranch. I'm a GM at a fast casual restaurant. Never have a told a customer that they had to leave because of a faulty POS system is down or not working. You would have gained a lifelong customer if you had said yeh come in and enjoy dinner until you figured it out and got it up and running. Yes I'm Asian and I came in with 2 other adult Asians and 3 kids. Maybe you didn't want to serve last minute guests or didn't want to deal with any more customers since you closed in 30 minutes. I will never know. I would have came back another time when your POS was working and paid then if I had too. But no, you lost customers for this. Your vision statement is to give every guest a legendary experience. You need to train your manager to live that statement when they are in uniform and working. He needs to remember that he sets the example and tone for the store. The kids that are working for you look up to you and follow your lead. This has always been my favorite Pizza Ranch. One reason is because they have sauces available on the salad bar that others don't (or, others only have available as single servings in plastic) such as: sour cream, buffalo sauce, BBQ sauce. Another reason is that the staff is very well-trained and friendly. The first time we went here when they reopened the buffet was June 15th. It was the first day they did "contactless buffet," which basically meant that the buffet was still there, but served by staff with gloves and masks. They did not require masks or social distancing of customers. However, this still worked quite well and felt safe to me. Also, with reservations required, there were not too many people there. However, at some point, they decided to switch back to regular buffet style. You can still make a reservation, but I don't think it's required anymore. They put out food service gloves, and gloves and masks are "optional." (I'm not sure how the recent state-wide mask requirement will affect this.) It feels much less safe now. When we were there, only one other customer wore a mask to the buffet and used gloves (other than the people in my party). Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to go back to this location until we do not have to wear masks for protection, or unless they implement better safety procedures. read more

Our last couple of visits have been better than the ones mentioned previously, so I'm bumping up my rating to four stars. Last night, for example, we had a good meal, and it was a fundraiser for the PACT charter school in Ramsey. (It's nice that Pizza Ranch lets the community raise funds). PACT stands for People Against Crappy Teaching *, something which I fully support and commend! ;-) Anyway, their volunteers were super cool, and the employees were in good form that night as well. The buffet was fresh and stocked at high levels. * No, PACT is really Pursuing Academics and Character Together. Gee whiz. But I do support this as well. I know that I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm taking a stand. Also, I still don't care for the Christian rock and country music that's played constantly at this (and other) location(s). Even though they have a full menu, my favorite thing here is the lunch buffet. That is why were stopped here awhile ago, since we wanted to satisfy a craving for their pizza. From when we walked in to when we left we felt right at home. I liked how they had so many options it was really hard to have everything, so I stuck with the stuff I really was in the mood for. Of course the exception was the pizza, because I am easy to please with their variety of flavors. Of course the mainstays for me, was the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and the cactus bread, as well. Of course towards the end of my meal, I had to go to town on the cactus bread, since they are my favorite menu items of all. Great staff. Friendly and hard working. I ordered a gluten free crust pizza and it was the best darn GF crust I EVER had! Went back a couple days later just to have it again and this time the crust was absolutely average like ANY other GF crust at a chain restaurant. Oh oh. Was the first one I got just a normal crust? It takes about 3-4 days for me to suffer if I ingest gluten and sure enough I paid the price. Moral of the story us please be careful. If your going to offer a made without gluten product there must be safeguards in place. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and corn. The order took 20 minutes longer than promised. The pizza was ok but didn't have enough sauce. It seemed to have been cut by someone who is new to the process. There were teeny slices and huge slices. My biggest issue was the other part of our order. The food was good, buffet was mostly always stocked, good experience. I'm giving four stars because our request came out on thin crust even when I requested original. We have gone to this Pizza Ranch for several years, usually with no problems. Nice staff and really good food. The past several times, however, it has been really awful. Today was the final straw. This manager could care less about anyone. The ice cream machine was broken AGAIN. Instead of being apologetic about it, all he could say is "What do you want me to do about it?"There were lots of kids there (the day before Easter) and adults (including myself) that wanted ice cream. He was rude and now said 'I don't know" What do you want me to do about it?" What? When the machine cycled and was beeping he was told about it and did nothing. Not to mention the dessert trays were hardly full and the buffet was not kept up with. Actually, until that manager cleans up his act and the restaurant goes back to what it use to be, we won't be going back there at all. How sad. read more

If you haven't had pizza in months and all of the sudden have this craving for EVERY SINGLE KIND OF PIZZA then this is your place! I went here for dinner and I totally got my nom nom on. The pizza isn't award winning, but I'll be dammed if you don't get what you're looking for. One of the coolest things about this place is if you go for the buffet, you also can order a pizza that isn't out on the island. What they'll do is bring the pizza out to your table and you can select as many slices as you want. Then they'll put the rest on the island for the rest of the patrons to find it. SUCH an awesome idea! Where this place really shines is their chicken. MY GOODNESS is it delicious! Honestly, it should be the first thing you try. I'm quite picky regarding pizza, and I usually have a hard time finding a type of crust that I actually like. Pizza ranch is a fair compromise between flavor and dough consistency. The buffet is fairly cheap... And it's obviously "all you can eat". Try the broccoli Alfredo and the wildfire; those two are the best. My husband is fond of their potato wedges and mashed potatoes. The salad bar seemed fresh although limited in choices of toppings and dressings. Pizza desserts aren't bad either. I particularly enjoyed the blackberry one... The crust in crunchy and semi-sweet. We got the buffet lunch as we love coming to Pizza Ranch. We came here two days ago and had the same issue as today. While we love the buffet, our favorite pizza is the BLT pizza. We order it every single time. Yet the last two times we've been here, they have not had Mayo for the BLT pizza. If we would have known this, we wouldn't have ordered it. Instead, they just gave us ranch. Very little tomatoes on it as well so essentially I was eating a lettuce and bacon pizza with ranch. The kids love the ranch. We typically head to Pizza Ranch every one to two weeks for the kids night. They have plenty of good food (not great, but good and healthy options) and the price is good on a family nite. Our favorite pizza is the garlic cheese and the kids love the chicken. Wonderful restaurant. I've been here dozens of times for the buffet and always enjoy it. The staff is very polite. The manager, Tim, is very active and makes sure everything is up to their high standards. The food is always kept fresh and stocked. I highly recommend the macaroni pizza. Tonight is a complete disaster. Things like empty bins can be overlooked, servers who walk by you like you don't exist can be overlooked. So called special order cheese Pizza that gets brought by what seems like an armed guard, it's ridiculous. I ordered a cheese Pizza, and because there's only 2 hours til closing time, they chose to make a small one, which now is thick crust and mostly crust. If all you want is to fill your belly, then this is the place for you. We ordered the buffet. The salad was fairly tasty if you don't mind using enough of the two dressings available to offset the dry lettuce. There was a romaine mix and also chopped head lettuce, chopped eggs, old and fatty looking bacon pieces, shredded cheese, and halved cherry tomatoes. Also potato salad, cottage cheese and several other salad bar foods that I did not try. The "hot" bar included broasted chicken, bar-b-que broasted chicken, several types of potatoes, mashed potatoes with a light colored gravy, green beans, corn, and a type of onion ring made from onion petals. If it had been hot, I may have enjoyed it more. The chicken was quite dry until I saw them bring out a fresh tray. The breast I had was quite good. The pizza bar - yes, there is a variety, all made with the thinnest possible crust and the least amount of any ingredients and still have the cook be able to say they were there. You can request a different combination of pizza, which I did. It arrived with no sauce on the crust and with only 2 of the four ingredients that I requested and even then I only saw very minute amounts. I told the lady that it was incorrect and she just stood there, then repeated how many slices would you like? The dessert pizzas had what I would call a regular type crust. They offer 3 different kinds, apple, cherry and cinnamon. There is a soft serve ice milk machine next to the dessert bar. The servers were very good about keeping plates cleared and cleaning the food bars. I didn't plan on making my review so long, but felt I should comment on all of the offerings. I have been a vegetarian for almost 4 years, and decided to order a CUSTOM pizza that was similar to the taco pizza they offer. I decided to make it custom vs. just taking the meat off of their taco pizza because I could see how a mistake could be made doing that. So after receiving my custom pizza I ate a slice and when I went to grab my second I noticed their was meat ALL OVER IT. Meaning that pizza ranch decided to make me a taco pizza rather then making the custom pizza I ordered. WORST of all though, when we called back to fix the mistake and get the pizza I actually ordered, the manager not only acted like she didn't care but continued to BLAME ME, the customer who ordered correctly. I didn't even hear an apology, after explaining the situation. To say the least I am LIVID and extremely disappointed. If u have any type of food restriction or allergy, DO NOT go to pizza ranch, because they can not be trusted to follow a simple order. Now I'm waiting another 45 min for the pizza I ordered in the first place, and have unwillingly consumed meat for the first time in almost 4 year. 0/5 would NOT recommend.
