    North Beach Pesto pizza large

We stopped in because it's the perfect spot for dinner after a round of golf at Sequoyah! We got there only about 40 minutes before they closed, but they were very nice! We weren't rushed at all and our server was young and super great. It's got the best little patio to eat outside! And a juke box inside! Now, the pizza! It's SO good. Like seriously good pizza. We had a pesto chicken one with bacon. Delicious. And the sausage roll is like a calizone appetizer that is also tasty! I'll be back for sure.

Let's start with the most pressing urgent issue. The summer heat of 2024. If you are camping in your sweat lodge tent, Easy Bake Oven RV, boating in the blistering sun or simmering in the scalding waters of nearby Ft. Gibson Lake's, Taylor's Ferry Beach, you need to find cool. The Pizza Port is your port of call, a haven of endless refrigerated air. My wife and I pulled up at the Pizza Port midafternoon. It is hot. I checked the batteries in my Life Alert, in case I went down from the heat on the trip to the front door of the restaurant. We jumped out and made a run for it. We are inside and it feels good! The Pizza Port is a safe harbor from the heat with magnificent air-conditioning! You can't eat in the heat. (However, outside dining on a cozy deck is available, if you are wet and smelly from camping.) We are cool; this feels good. Let's get some pizza. Keep it simple. Medium, thin crust sausage pizza for us. The medium is big. The large is about the size of a boat trailer tire. The pizza was flooded with waves of sausage and melted cheese. As I pulled a big slice from the pan the mooring ropes of Mozzarella stretched long to prevent the slice from drifting away. The first bite, the crispy bottom of the crust meets the top of your tongue. You know this pizza going to be good. Then comes the armada of flavor: fresh savory sausage, melted cheese and tomato sauce. This is a delicious loaded meaty pizza. The good kind of pizza, not that NY stuff. Plenty left over. We filled up the cargo hull of a cardboard to go box and left port with half of the remaining pizza. When we got home, I had to have one more slice before putting the leftovers in the refrigerator. After the pizza was served, the Pizza Port Harbor Master (the owner), dusted the flour off of his hands and came out from the gally to visit with us. A very nice guy, truly interested in providing good food and a pleasurable dining experience for his customers. He has an interesting business background. After years of managing his successful businesses in the Tulsa area, he sold them and moved to the lake. Obviously not to retire. His experience working with people and a familiarity with operating ovens probably made it and easy transition to dealing with the public and cooking pizza. Say hello to him if you get the opportunity. The Pizza Port is open for business. The best pizza between Wagoner and Tahlequah. Conveniently located near Sequoyah State Park and Tailors Ferry on Highway 51.

The pizza and apps were really great. Live music, on the loud side. But it was really busy, take that as a good sign

They have re-opened and their pizza is actually better than it was. They really cleaned the place up and the staff are awesome.

Service was apathetic and slow. Phone line was busy to call in the order ahead of time. The order was inaccurate.

Poor service and unfriendly waitstaff. Waited over an hour for my pizza, longer than a wait in Chicago for a deep dish

If it happens to be the Simple Simon's in Wagoner, you made a good choice! First of all did you know that this franchise started in Sand Springs, OK? Yep, 1987. They have hundreds of franchise locations, in small towns across several states. Locations, history and menu can be found online. Not cooking today. It is a muddy gloomy day at the camp ground. Wagoner is a short distance and a pizza brightens almost any day. The reviews on Google favored Simple Simon's in Wagoner over the competition. Nice, clean, roomy little restaurant, easy to find on the main drag going into town. We picked a large, thin crust sausage, with a one trip salad bar side. The pizza was a "simple," unpretentious pan of old school pizza parlor delight. The large, enough food for a meal today and tomorrow, at a small-town price. The one trip salad bar was another amazing bargain. It had a full variety of veggies, meats and dressings. An old-time salad bar spread that I haven't seen for years. The price $2.99. The plate was large, A skilled food stacker could make a filling meal in one trip. Delicious pizza and salad bar, a good variety of menu items, friendly staff, clean restaurant, value pricing, relaxing small-town ambiance. From my iPhone

I ended up calling my bank only to be told that nothing was even going through to the bank, therefore something going on with their machine inside. Keep in mind , it's been around 10 -15 min at this point. It's 100 degrees outside and my car has no AC, just wanted to make a quick trip for lunch. Upon letting the employee know that the problem was most likely with the machine inside, she looked at me confused , then said "okay well, I'll try to swipe it instead?" As if asking me . I said whatever needs to be done do it as it's not my card. A few minutes later another employee comes up to the window and lets me know that the machine disconnected from the internet, therefore resulting in it not working, I had to wait for it to turn back on so they could charge me. I was okay with it, but by this point I was very visibly sweating, and a little frustrated. Mind you I was never rude not once even with my annoyance and them knowing it was their fault and not apologizing either, because I know it's not their fault my car doesn't have AC, but I would've loved some sense of urgency, especially being close to 15 minutes in the sun at this point. After a few more minutes, she gave me my card and receipt. I looked at her confused , where's my sandwich? She says they were barely making it. It's been 20 minutes of me waiting here, and your barely making my sandwich? I was fuming for sure. Now I am pregnant so I do everything to have a good attitude as I don't want to be mean. I know it shouldn't be expected, but I at least hoped they would ask me if I wanted a free cookie or something even a coupon for my next sandwich since I was sitting there waiting for over 20 minutes for something that was not my fault. But nope. She brought me my sandwich, said have a nice day, and left. I tried to see the positive through it, at least I received my sandwich. But the customer service was really unorganized, seemed like they didn't care that it was their fault, and never offered anything to apologize. Will definitely be avoiding this subway and will let anyone know around me that the service sucks.
