Mac and cheese pizza.
Mickenzee R.

We haven't been to Pizza Pie Cafe in years and decided to come here for lunch on a Saturday. I noticed there was a check in offer on Yelp for a free medium drink so we planned to use it. When we went to use the Yelp check in offer the employee said they don't take them and another employee also agreed and said they don't take them. Strange. We found a booth in the corner and made our way over to pick out our pizza and pasta. They were completely out of garlic knots and they never did bring out more. We were there about 45 min so that was a little disappointing. They did have their cheese bread and kept that one coming out so I just stuck with that. The cheese bread was really good, especially dunked in ranch! The pasta is fun, you can pick from different types and you can get either a half or full size order each time. Sadly, I feel like the sauce for the pasta was watery and didnt really stick to the pasta. It also lacked flavor and tasted almost like nothing. I tried the meat marinara and the carbonara sauce and both didn't really taste like much. The best pizza they had was the Hillbilly, which is basically a meat lovers pizza. It was hot and fresh with lots of toppings. They had a mac and cheese pizza and this one was just okay. All the other ones I tried really didn't taste like much and the bread to topping ratios were off. The dessert pizzas were just okay. These also had a lot of bread and not a lot of toppings. The cinnamon sticks were dry and not a lot of toppings, the oreo pizza was all bread with oreo crumbles all over but tasted really dry, but I will say the cookie dough pizza was the best of all the dessert pizzas. It was hot and fresh and had lots of toppings. We didn't try the salad bar but it looked like there were lots of options to choose from and it seemed like a lot of people were picking things from there. I feel like the prices are very reasonable for a buffet, it was about $10.50 for adults. They do have lots of options to pick from for their pizzas, pasta & sauce, and dessert options but as far as the flavor goes I just wasn't a huge fan. It's pretty bland overall.

Happy to see a buffet open when 'hangry' and although not the best tasting pizza in the valley but hit the spot! Pizzas were coming out hot and fresh, they cook/heat pasta to order. Many hot pasta sauces to choose from. They had a decent salad bar and dessert pizza to boot. For sure will he back as one of my nephew's favorite birthday location.

Pizza Pie Cafe is perfect for families with young kids who may all enjoy different types of pizza, pasta, salad, and desserts. I loved all of the license plates that were hanging up above the buffet area from every state, and heard many children talking about the plates with their families. This restaurant reminds me of Cici's Pizza locations that can be found in other states around the country. Although, Pizza Pie Cafe does have a better atmosphere. I loved the little booth areas. The employees are really friendly and the restaurant is pretty clean, with the exception of some of the booths, which could really use a deep clean in the corners. The pizzas were labeled with their names, but I would have loved to have seen a list of what toppings were on each pizza. Many of the pizzas seemed like they had been sitting under the heating lamps for quite a while and several pizzas did not have much taste at all. There are many different desserts available, including a monthly special dessert pizza. This is not a place I will be frequenting, as I can make a better pizza at home. However, if you are out with kids, this could be a perfect lunch spot!

Do you have a teenager, who eats like a BOTTOMLESS PIT...??? Welp, this should be the main reason why you'd go here, because their pizzas aren't that great, their salad bar is weak and their pasta selection is only aight. They do have great customer service skills though! I also like their little booth seating, that they have and, their fun decor, but their food is why people are SHOULD come here and, it's no bueno. Their pizzas are too dry, probs because they sit under those warmers for too long and dry out. Their salad selection lacks selection and, their pastas are fun to mix and match, but not that tasty. And, as a desserts lover, their "dessert pizzas" are gross! Since I hate wasting food, it hurt my heart, not to finish my small plates of trying everything. I'll just leave it at that.

My kids and their friends earned free pizza buffet coupons at school and wanted to go together soy friend and I took 4 kids together. I was super happy the kids could all be free! None of this one free kid per one paid adult nonsense. So thank you for that!! I'd been to a pizza pie cafe years ago and remembered thinking it was a really great deal bc since I had to get my own gf pizza (nothing in the buffet is gf) I got a whole dinner pizza and a whole dessert pizza for the price of a buffet pass! So, I was shocked and frustrated when I got charged for each crust and each individual topping, bringing my total to $30. I kept telling the employee this was ridiculously expensive and I wouldn't accept it. She finally asked if I wanted to speak to her manager. She came out and reduced the price to $13. Much better!! Thank you!! The crust is super thin so I actually ate the entire dinner pizza and all but 3 slices of the dessert pizza plus a salad no problem . The raspberry pizza reminded me of toaster strudel. Yum. But hey- my friend is vegetarian and two of my son's friends are as well and we noticed there was ONE vegetarian pizza out of like 8 flavors? That's crazy. Oh and it was plain cheese and it was so over cooked the top was solid brown. Not cool. Loved my food though!!

Just the facts. Decide for yourself.

The salad bar hygiene is questionable. Temperature of items that need to maintain temps to prevent illness is not happening. The patrons here must have missed many meals. Their manners are extinct for others the existence of any level of etiquette is a mystery. Pretty sure the patrons here tonight are the reason why signs are posted in restrooms across the country.

You know it's bad when your starving teenager won't eat there. But if you've got young kids with unrefined pallets and you're looking for a cheap way to feed them, this may be your place. The buffet includes salad, pizza and pasta. The quality is akin to mass produced pre-frozen food that is mostly flavorless. But there's a good variety, so hey. I don't like to hate on places, but this one is not a place I'd visit again. Well, my wife loves it, so I probably will.

So it could have been just a me thing, but I digress lol... We ordered 8 dishes. I wish I knew the names. I know there was a beef and onion dish and a beef stew type dish with root vegetables. Tender and both delicious. There was a pork dish with a coconut based stock which was my favorite. Chicken Adobo, a pork stir fry type dish and lastly a pork stew dish with blood in the sauce. Yes, you heard me right. If you like blood sausage this is right up your alley. Both of the pork dishes (stir fry and blood sauce) were a little too salty for me personally, but tasty otherwise. The lumpia was good and we had a side of rice and pancit. The pancit was just okay for me. The woman who helped us was awesome and very patient with us. Explaining all the dishes we had questions about. Overall a good experience. Glad to see multiple Filipino restaurants opening up around town.

We went for Mexican Night and loved it so much that we came back again for Italian Night. As someone who grew up going to HomeTown Buffet, this felt like the homemade version of that experience comforting, fresh, and made with care. Everything we tried was delicious. Italian Night was just as impressive, with favorites like lasagna, spaghetti, Alfredo pasta, meatballs. I love their fries and pizza lol. The dessert selection was amazing too, there was so much variety, like their rice puddinf. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was consistently great both visits. Honestly, I wish we had a Chuck-A-Rama in California. We'd be regulars! If you're in Utah and looking for a buffet with homemade comfort food and plenty of options, this place is definitely worth a visit.

You don't have the pallet for it. The sweet and sour sauce is just sour. The fried rice has no flavor. The eggrolls tastes like they came from a frozen box and was fried. Shall I keep going? Your salad bar could use a little more variety choices. I would love to see beets, mushrooms, and baby corn. The seafood salad used to have more imitation crab and is now mostly celery. The monkey bread is good when it's fresh. Lately, it seems like the rolls don't proof enough before baking and they turn out flat and tough. One thing they nail every time is their fresh baked rolls. They are always fluffy and buttery. Another won is the turkey, which is always moist and flavorful. My last complaint is I would love to have a PIECE of fried chicken that's not the size of a half chicken. These pieces are HUGE AND DRY. Both fried and baked chicken have good flavors. I just wish they were smaller, juicy pieces. Some nights are better than others. You can't beat the value you get here. Just not on Tuesday nights.

What I love about this place is the simplicity. Yes they have labels for their food but the way it's gonna work. Is you go in you choose a small box or a larger box and then you fill that box. That's it. You want your box to be 3/4 orange chicken? Fine. You want your box to be nine different little bits of stuff - you can do that. No need to have to remember what the name of something was. They had a good variety of foods that were available for you to choose from, and all the foods were really great. On the day I went the beef with broccoli was definitely on the salty side, so that wasn't for me, but the General Tsao's chicken was perfect.

A lot of the food like beef and broccoli and orange chicken look like it was the last serving or two a young lady came in after me and once we put our servings of each food, the owner then had to cook I was kind of disappointed because the beef and broccoli sounded amazing, but the actual look of it wasn't really appealing. The noodles were kind of flat, not like what I'm used to more rounded egg noodles. The fried rice had ham in it and I don't eat pork. They had a lot of different options. Shrimp was included. Teriyaki beef what they called. And extras were the wonton, sesame balls, veggie eggrolls, etc... I took my main side as noodles, then sides as beef and broccoli, beef teriyaki, and tempura shrimp. They asked at the end if you want Sawsan they add it to your compartment you pay roughly $11 and change. I like the noodles I didn't love them, beef and broccoli was good. Probably would've been better if it was fresh. The shrimp was pretty tasty with the side sauce. Kind of reminded you sweet honey and walnut temporary shrimp that you get from other places. Just without the walnuts and the sauce on the side, which is pretty nice because sometimes you can get too sweet. The fried beef teriyaki, absolutely not. That was by far probably the worst thing I've tasted. The meat did not taste like meat. I ended up taking a bite and throwing it out. Honestly, I think if you can get the food super fresh when they put it out it probably taste a lot better so that's why I gave it three out of five stars. One for the customer service, two for most of the food being decent, and three for the simplicity of putting whatever you want basically self-serve.. Until next time, happy yelping

Price was cheaper than other comparable AYCE hot pot places in NYC at 30.99 for standard tier and even a 23.99 weekday lunch deal which is a steal. We didn't know this until the manager came out and insisted she return the extra tip. If this is not a testament to great service, I don't know what is. Ambiance 5/5: Everything was clean. The place was large so tables were adequately spaced. Place was well lit. Warm decor and colors. Service 5/5: Great service. People were welcoming. Staff were stationed around the self serve bar to assist customers. Manager was super nice and even returned money to us when we accidentally double tipped. Food 5/5: They have A LOT of options here. There were two pricing tiers. Premium was 36.99 and standard was 30.99. Premium offered cuts of wagyu, shrimp paste, and leg of lamb for every 2 persons in your party. As much as I would like to partake of the cold bar items I just don't due to a recent food poisoning incident. Stick to hot foods here. The catfish was a good return to an item I always enjoy. Sadly, they apparently ran out. Brussel sprouts were hot , a change from the past. Yams were hot as usual and very tasty. Shrimp were not replaced fast enough for the crowd that was there. Liver and onions was hot for a change but no need to add celery to the mix. Carrot cake was as usual very dry and had to ad strawberry topping to get it down. I always forge to take photos of both the good and the not so good. It's always a crap shoot at this location.
