First the good news .......
Conclusion, from a research point of view, the acid alkaline litmus test revealed a perfect balance exists here
Now the rest ......
Scuse me but how does this place achieve such a high rating? I just don't get it, unless all who came before have yet to experience how good pizza can get.
On the decor.... painting bare brickwork in whitewash and cardinal red, scattering random objects and plants around the shelves, with an Italian flag thrown in, does not a trattoria or even an osteria make. What I experienced was a tiny, noisy cellar with a random, cramped seating arrangement that sells from a limited & uninspired list of pizzas grilled (not baked) under what looked like an electric deck oven
I had the Con Tutti (#13?) with carbonised trim on all the high spots and around the crust so if there was any other taste present it was masked by the flavour of burnt dough and marinara. Seems my pizza got a little too close to the grill, perhaps their peel paddle needs shaving? At least quarter cut it before you serve it as the eating irons provided failed to penetrate through the stodgy base and only served to shatter the crust and shower my plate with black ash (who ordered the Vesuvius?). Like a fool I got the house red wine but luckily it stripped my palate of the taste of ash.
Total cost 229 Norwegian Krone, not even worth half that.
One Star but they only got that so I could write this review ..... you know how it works read more
